I have an experience, to put koi & goldfish together in same tank. All the goldie are die attacked by the koifish. from that i never mix them together . So you are lucky SPORTMEN10. Orther say koi isn't suitable to put in tank rather than pond. what is your opinion?
I think if you have a big tank then you could get away with having Koi in it untill the out grow it. I have mine in a 125 gallon tank. Mine are not that big yet. they are only 6'' each and my goldies are 8'' long. 2 koi and 2 common goldfish
I have 1 Black Moor and 1 Fantail, Yesterday I bought 6 small common goldfish and 1 pleco...... One of my small common goldfish is nipping everyone.... Is this normal?????? Can someone please answer?? Thanks!
I did put them but it is rare that my common goldfish nips on the other fish, the only thing is that my pleco has been in the same spots for days now and doesn't move anywhere else and my common goldfish nips at him but stays there. Why is this?
either dieing or is getting sick. thats how my pleco was when i had one like 3 months ago. *right before he died that is* im sorry if he dies but i hope he lives for many more years!
I guess it is sick because my fish has the signs of the beginnings of Ich, so it doesn't move, how can I treat Ich on these fish if Plecos are sensitive to Malachite Green and salt? Can my goldfish stand to 82 degrees for a heating treatment? Please help me!
feed your pleco some pieces cucumbers or lettuce, parts of apples, they love the stuff, get one of those algae clips with the suction cup, by the way i no longer have any freshwater fish, sold everything back to 2 different pet stores the koi was 13 inches long
those4 are beautiful Koi and goldfishes (love the white koi especially) but your tank is over stocked, heavily, it's great that you ahve 2 filter, one of your koi alone require up to 100 gallons. each of yoru fancy goldfish aloen require atleast 10 gallon for each.
No well I don't kow why but that is the problem that some fish keepers face when they have Plecos with Goldfish and some don't well I think you are doing a good job on keeping your fish.... Watch carefully for any signs if your Pleco at night may attack your goldfish...... The good thing is that you don't have a problem....... Is your Pleco the same size with your Goldfish???
For real???? Well that's good because I had a fantail with a Pleco and the Pleco would swim to the fantail and munch on it, causing it to stress and then died...... This was 6 years ago but it is a good thing to keep an eye out since Plecos are nocturnal, they may damage the Goldfish when you are sleeping so you won't know..... Check for any weird signs and you'll be fine...... How many goldfish do you have?????
Those are beautiful fish..... I like them... But like I said I recommend for you to keep an eye out for the Plecs because of these attacks. There is always a chance that they might do this to your fish without you even noticing. I know someone who has a small plec and the plec made like 4 of his common goldfish die already. Just make sure if you see any scrapings in your fish's scales, to separate them in another tank...... You've got beautiful fish so keep it UP!!!!!!!
Ok..... If the plec is to small, it may feel threatened and attack your fish, but if it's to big, it may bully your fish. They have attitudes like we do but like I said, be careful and always keep an eye out for your fish. You got such a beautiful tank and fish so Keep it UP!!!!!!!
yop you're right, very similar tanks! your white koi is huge! you think he's gonna get bigger and outgrow this tank? mine is getting bigger every day, he's gonna corner me into getting that bigger tank!
yeah, i know a couple of people that would take him for thier pond, i always thought about trading it in for credit too, i wish i could get 210 or even a 180, but i live in a dorm room for the time being, and my girlfriend gets mad at me for buying fish stuff
can u put 2 black moores together or will they fight?

GOLDFISH QUESTION!!
Is a 55 gallon tank big enough for three fancy goldfish? I only plan on getting A ryukin, An oranda, and a third one, plus maybe an algae eater.
Would I eventually have to move them into an even bigger tank?
XxAmayaSanxX 2 years ago
i dont think so 55 is enough for those 3 but you shouldnt put any other in

tcfuturevet 3 years ago 2
nope....not at all, they both are great pondfish too
zaracki92 3 years ago
Ya know, plecos need warmer water than golsfish and koi do. and koi need 200 gallons per fish when there full grown. Better start building a pond!
Beaver411player 3 years ago
not yet still building the sump for the 75 gallon right now theres a gsp and a pencil urchin and 3 hermit crabs and 45 pounds of liverock

i hope you didnt put the common ones w/ fancy ones!? common ones will nip fancy ones and they will battle for space in the tank!
p.s. common will can get 20" long and the fancy will only get 7" usually.
hope this helps

you can't put koi fish with goldfish lol
LoverInc 4 years ago
even a 100 gallon tank is wayyyyy too small for a koi. put this baby in a pond.
(the rule for koi is at least 24 scare feet of water)
