elevator hasn't been modded yet. It got a new motor and new controller because it got stuck 5 times a week

These were very common in posh offices in England but they seem to have vanished now, was told by a very knowlegable lift youngster that a hotel in calais france has one of these

This reminds me of Bertha, (one of the) the hospital elevator operators at Rochester General Hospital in the 1970's. A wonderful lady.
