  • como se llama tu raqueta ?????

  • Nice hat

  • FOREHAND DRIVE a.k.a FLAT FOREHAND. He's doing it fine....Based on the dislikes I'd say a lot of people who don't play tennis just got here from Federer videos... :P

  • I'm not sure everyone's getting the point of this video... He's just hitting a fucking old school forehand! If he wanted to use modern technique, the title of this video would say "The Perfect Nadal Shot"... But it doesn't. Tennis didn't begin in 2005, people. Pros didn't always hit crazy spin. This is where tennis began, so learn it and love it, or contrary to your comments, YOU are the ones who don't know tennis.

  • My student has a better forehand drive. Your " Perfect" forehand drive is a joke.

  • everyone who commented bad on this video has no idea about tennis. seriously, this is an old school technique, mostly used by trainers to ensure that the ball has not too much spin on it so that the student will get the balls back into the court much easier! THIS IS NO TOPSPIN FORHAND!

you should all read the description or at least the title of the video!

good video man, shows exactly how you gotta do it!

  • I bet everyone commenting thinks Nadal has the perfect forehand

  • prefect forehand???

    so suck forehand...

  • @tuchbbb did you not bother to read the description mate? No, no you didnt, and you made yourself look like a twat.

  • @deve8uk Old school didn't look that bad.

  • @tuchbbb Agreed

  • Were you my grandpa's trainer? Cuz he plays EXACTLY like you.

  • @mydog8u2 another person whos got an opinion but an inability to read. fail

  • @deve8uk Huh? Read what? A bunch of links? Am I missing something?

  • So poor it's funny

  • what was that,,,?

  • XD Who should be the trainer there?!

  • Are you guys retarded? Look at the description of the video. This is old school technique. He starts with a closed stance, swings through using a continental or eastern grip and finishes with an open stance high over the shoulder using his other hand to catch the racket. It is technically sound old school wise.

  • follow through you bitch

  • Down side: NOT the best forehand drive.

Bright side: I like your hat :)

  • Yeah, perfect just for trainer giving the ball to trainee xD

  • Federer has the best forehand drive not you ma boy

  • ever heard of 'loading' the back leg? It's what all the pro's now do.

Yours is not the perfect forehand drive, but a good one for the 1950's.

  • I think that the point of this video has flown over people's heads based on the response...

  • hell yeahhh luv that technique!!

  • tommy i love how this video has 137 DISLIKES! That is a perfect drive and nothing feels better than hit a nice and easy old school forehand.

  • no footwork???? this is not tennis. you better play chess

  • Tommy, you usually have pretty awesome tips. I hope that this video was done as a joke.

  • bro...ive been playing tennis since i was 9 im currently playing at the university level. not only is there no such thing as the "forehand drive", its a terrible fucking shot and kinda funny actually y do u think no pro has done this shot since william renshaw....and the chip and charge is different...

  • that's the old forehand ...

  • thats the most un-perfect forehand i've ever seen!

  • Woah, never seen anything like it

  • no effect, no power, no control, old school is not effective...

  • are you kidding me? you're using a pendulum swing.. WTF. you're supposed to create a complete moving motion, not backwards then forward... I guess if your forehand is perfect then Federer can't beat you then. damn rec players.

  • jajjajajajajajajajjajajajaja FOREHAND perfect?? my grandmother is better for you

  • Looks like... 100 miles per year...

  • LOL you should use a wooden racquet with that continental grip of yours.

  • Comment removed

  • @aznboykevin1 oh really? they're really that good? Best in the country? Where are you from, I'm guessing not from the states? and Probably at best I'm only a 4.5 player, but I'm just saying that because I played highschool tennis last year, there were great teams with good players, but there were some teams in our league that were terrible, and their #1 wouldn't even be in our top 10 (Varsity) are you ranked by any chance?

  • lol is it just me or do i hear a ball machine on the other side of the court

  • @assassin510 thats what I was thinking HAHAHA

  • i would kill you lmao if you played like that i 6-0 a A varsity number 1 and im a middle schooler

  • @aznboykevin1 beating a varsity #1 isn't that impressive, considering the fact the team probably sucks.

  • @kevinxnam Nahhh it doesn't suck lol hey can probably beat the shit outta you so yeah you shouldn't be talking the tennis team is the best in the country so yeah

  • do you really think you have the perfect forehand drive?

  • You're a pusher ...

  • You look like an old man.

  • Love this forehand and trying to learn to hit it "classic" like this after being sold the SW grip/windshield wiper bill of goods.

It's horses for courses: I came into the game a few years ago. I'm 46. I'm a good athlete and in great shape. I want to continue to improve into my 50s and beyond.

Who are the best tennis players ever at age 45 or older? Gonzalez. McEnroe. Edberg. Connors (longest career of any top player, possibly GOAT). All hit clean like this. Nadal game at 50? No way

  • @tednugent82 Connors?? greatest of all time??? thats funny!!

  • it looks like you're using a continental grip for a forehand...

  • haha ur forehand is a peice of shit. u have no follow through and ur topsin is fuckn crap. u would get owned by all of us if u played like that. go back to the basics and learn to play properly mother fucker!

  • can you show us the advance forehand of that..

  • too much arm....

  • continental....

  • Very basic beginners' technic .

  • this is a joke right? hell, id hit drop shots or winners all day if you hit like that to me.

  • why is the sound of the ball impact agains tthe strings so muted? or is that the camera? nice technique

  • horrible old school forehand

  • robot playing tennis

  • can you people even read? this video is a DEMONSTRATION of the perfect technique for a FLAT forehand drive. and it is the correct technique, along with perfect timing and footwork. im willing to be money he could kill that ball if he felt like it, along with any punk on youtube who claims to be better than him

  • Comment removed

  • I think he is hitting the "old school" strokes intentionally - as a demo. If you can see, his timing and footwork is perfect. He could crush the ball if he wants to.

  • People nowadays expect nothing but top spin. He's showing a flat stroke ffs, it's supposed to be like that. Just watch Lendl, very compact back swing and short follow through.

  • @ChrisRey3156 nah, that is not flat. impossible with that continental grip. definetly slice shots. nice ones but kinda useless unless "blocked" return or some surprise shot or half volley shot.

  • @AtlantisArch lol!! hahaha you dont think you can hit a flat ball with that grip?? please know you stuff before you post things for everyone to read!

  • @TheAusCoach oh yeah, i'm now used to morrons on tennis@youtube. u can't even click to answer the right post. Your reaction was about ChrisRey3156 comment that is just above me. And yes, back in the old days they used to have continental grip for each shot. J.McEnroe is the most obvious for that. Lendl at his beginning to, but he changed it soon (really few top spin, more a flat shot but without the continental grip anyway).

Oh yeah, btw, regards for ur really helpfull comment. we all loved it.

  • @AtlantisArch Actually i was talking about your comment about not being able to hit a flat shot with that grip!!!! what are you talking about?? btw morron is only spelt with 1 'R'

  • wtf man you cant play tennis. delete video please

  • Ok, dude, I used to hit the forehand like this........ when I started playing like 15 years ago.

  • i wouldnt call that perfect or good or not bad just a contential child learning how to play tennis

  • Fucking boried and gay

  • I'm shocked that all of these haters rant on your forehand DRIVE. Fools, a forehand drive is a flat stroke without topspin. THIS is what is being demonstrated here, and by the way, it's a very nice drive.

  • the hat says it all

  • 1. You suck, perfectly.

    2. Considering (1.) you shouldn't post these videos so people won't try to play perfectly incorrectly, like you.

  • u are not following through fully

  • @Tyncidog while his forehand is very bad a full follow through isnt always necessary if u are able to go through the ball well you will get plenty of depth into the court the followthrough is simply a relaxation of the arm to help you hit smoother it is without a doubt the least important part of the swing

  • man this forehand isn't powerful but you have very good control and omg nobody can be as good as fed or other players :|

  • Grandma tennis bro

  • hahahaha are u kidding me? that is rlly bad dude

  • Sure bro, you're gonna win a grand slam playing like that... NOT!!!

    that's not perfect, that's pathetic.

  • I hate you.

  • dude there is no topspin in your shot

  • what a topspin grip

    ....yes that's irony

  • Obviously if this guy is making bank teaching tennis he knows a thing or two and could kick all of our asses.

  • Serious man? I'd kick yo ass with a racquet tied to my dick if you pull that shit on me

  • im diggin the russian hat

  • bad , horrible forehand !!

  • If you name your video "The Perfect" smth smth you're bound to get dislikes and some bad comments here and there. The forehand drive is amateurish at best I'd suggest keep practicing because that's the only way you'll get better and also take the time to read some of the comments and take notes( some of them can improve your gameplay)

P.S Get rid of that hat...it's weird.

  • spin --> 0

    your shots are totaly flat>>!

  • you should go back and work on a farm.

  • you are dead man funny hat dude

  • wow.....get some lessons

  • lol, what are you gonna do if the ball gets over your shoulder, you'll miss every other shot!

  • That's old style forehand with wrist locked. check out "double bend forehands" and you'll see how the new forehands are hit, which give you more power and more topspin.

  • are u using eastern here? this is a good looking forehand, altho it looks a tad robotic

  • wtf men??? this forehand is like a little piece of shit men...

  • quit hating on this forehand, my coach plays almost exactly like this "old school" forehand (except his takeback is lower) and it is extremely flat and low, and he gets power on his shots effortlessly. Just because your idol tennis stars don't use this technique doesn't mean its bad, you noobs.

  • no, no, no ... continental grip for a modern forehand???? wtf

  • pero , si jugas contra mi te hago el culo

  • The "lol" forehand :)

  • From the comments I can see... Looks like we be drinkin' Haterade.

  • lmao continental grip

  • Pls rename this video "forehand slice"....I actually like this shot for placement in the corners

  • this is a joke right like emira hits better hehe

  • hahaahaa good video

  • haha perfect in 1975 era

  • Always room in the game for hitting flat, but that lacked coolness...

  • Hey buddy we aren't in the 70's anymore no more continental grip on your forehand! FYI That's about as bad as a follow trough gets

  • grow up fool, stop trying to keep it simple

  • im playing Paddle and thats a forehand for it.

Nice technique, i would like to learn that

  • haha... thats funny.... going retro. I dont think anyone even remembers how to hit those forehands anymore.

  • Why all the hate? The description literally says old school; this is perfect if you pick up a wooden racket.

  • that is the basic eastern forehand...

  • Oh lord you people need to read. He was showing perfect forehand DRIVE. DRIVE, do you know what drive is? Like...screwDRIVEr. PileDRIVEr. He showing you how to drive a ball, not his real forehand form. Christ these people. It IS the perfect forehand drive. Not the perfect forehand (for the Modern Era) but it IS the perfect forehand drive.

  • Great forhand for teaching lessons all day!! Just don't teach it to anyone under 60.

  • I'm not impressed, anyone can do it with a little practice. He impressed me if he hits his forehand while moving. Despite his good technique to hit a ball on the spot means nothing.

    signed Roger Federer.

  • very consisten keep up the good work!!

  • @ tommyenglish1 O.k have you noted all the comments here? I take it that you're not really her coach? So in what way are you affiliated to these practise sessions?

  • u wont beat any decent person with that forehand...power and topspin is key in today's modern forehand...to do this you will need 2 be hitting the ball from low to high in a brushing motion from right to left, if done right, your racket should end up around your side, not on the top of your head like this video...

certainly not the perfect forehand drive...

  • looks like how they hit forehands back in the 1920's, only difference is your uising a graphite racket

  • Your forehand is tragic comedy... but dont give up dude and train.

  • i would own u if u played like that against me

  • @nenadfromserbia I doubt it

  • @tommyenglish1 If your ever in the Windsor Ontario area, let me know

  • he is pushing the ball instead of hitting...

  • U SUCK

  • Correction... it's a perfect Englishman's Forehand Drive. :Oo

  • LOL wtf!! U look like a retard

  • Perfect? it so bad D=

  • maybe it would look more solid if we saw how hard the guy was hitting it back lol idk just a thouught

  • Dude, that forehand sucks. You go high to low on every ball (slice), that is much easier to time than topspin. There is no pace on your shot. Maybe you should try wearing your hat backwards like Roddick

  • @msbmsbus haha the hat backwards comment lol i like it

  • @tommyenglish1 its funny how ppl make videos called 'the perfect forehand' but then he got 119 dislikes and a whole lot of insults for doing it

  • Comment removed

  • pretty funny

  • おっさん 腰がひけているで!

  • that was disgusting. .

  • i think my cat can do much better

  • 1. you're not "crushing it" at all. your just deflecting the ball's own slow pace.

    2. this forehand is from the early late 70's and early 80's. rackets and technique have changed ya know, use some wrist, and some turning of the body.

    3. Don't call things perfect.

  • @cj397 and finally 4. HE MENTIONS IN THE DESCRIPTION AND I QUOTE..."old school"

  • Not many people are familiar with the concept of irony.

  • I really like your fast movement and the way you bend your knees! XD

  • wow guys this is obviously a joke

  • i have never seen forehands like these. theres no power or spin in these forehands, and i wouldnt even call that a drive, those are the shots i use sometimes as defensive shots when a serve is coming in too fast or something.

for a good forehand you need to take the racket side, then back for preperation...and when you hit the ball it needs to go from low to high as you hit the ball, and then swing from right to left. you need that smooth motion for power and spin...

  • @konvictz0007 Are you serious? You're taking this video seriously? Lol...

  • hahahah, thats hilarious

continental grip, no racquet speed, i honestly cant tell if you are being serious with this vid

  • you look retarted with this swing

  • hahaha "The Perfect Forehand Drive" JOKE

  • You look just like a bear hitting some retarded forehands ! LMAO

  • the only thing worse than his forehand is his hat.

  • That not a perfect forehand !!!!!!!

  • obvious troll is obvious

  • looks more like a volley than a forehand¡¡

  • This forehand is kick ASS!!! id fear it

  • In fact, it is.

A drive is an attacking stroke so it is sensible to keep the trajectory low so it is difficult to return it.

A top-spin-less stroke does not bounce high so it is even harder to return and good for driving your opponent around.

  • No offense to u but this forehand is far from perfect and i've seen a million juniors play better

so i think you should study a bit more before you put a title like "perfect" forehand drive

you might give up and coming players the wrong idea

  • Hi Tommy! I like this forehand, his backswing looks very natural.. Do you think you can hit hard with this stroke?

  • Yeah, you and all of the kids you coach look like unbelievable players and they have so much potential but I also watched the video where you tried to get Emira to do the same thing and it really is far from perfect. there zero margin for error

  • bad!!!

  • this isn't his reall forehand.

  • SUP LESTTER! -it's brendan. LOL. mmm, you know this isn't the guy's real forehand right?

  • um no wrist...or brushing up=no topspin= less than perfect drive

  • Oldschool? yes, drive? not realy. Try hiting with topspin with that grip, its more fun.

  • A professionnal player doesn't hit a forehand like that !

It looks like you are playing with a child.

  • @tommyenglish1

    It just looks like.

  • @tommyenglish1 riiiggth

  • @tommyenglish1 So he was right

  • @tommyenglish1 never heard of her, and i bet you just had a tennis ball machine

  • @tommyenglish1 bet u lost :D

  • your crushing it? it looks like you have a board going all the way up you arm!

  • this forehand is a joke. move on to the more "modern" forehand eh bud?

  • this forehand is solid, i'm crushing it!

  • this forehand is a joke

  • you good but faster swing ok :)

  • meh. To me a more western grip is 'perfect' ;)

  • This is the reason america produces so many world class tennis players. Anyone can teach tennis here, anyone, just join the tennis registry pay your dues are destroy talent:)

  • are you hatin' on my forehand?

  • nice touk!

  • your right...old school
