  • Funny, not too Czech though ;-)

  • They've pretended not to notice our bull-gesss

  • We are two wild and crazy guys!

  • Pretty funny video.

  • those guys were totally czech

  • so good on family guy

  • Czechs don't act or sound anything like that. What the hell?

  • @SagginWillies Yes, yyou are right, Czechs talk like that for example:

Ahoj, jak je? nebo Jaký je počasí? simply something like that.

  • Well if that's what western world thinks about us Czechs then God help us all...:-((

  • I remember seeing this special when it came out. The thing that struck me was how many more skits Akyroyd was in than Belushi.

  • Supposedly, as per the "Wired" book about John Belushi, he wasn't paid for this appearance, instead, he asked Lorne Michaels' production company Broadway Video (who produced this Steve Martin special) to have "one free year" to do whatever he wanted when he visited the Broadway video offices, things like being able to help himself to the refrigerator when he wanted and that people there should be nice to him. Michaels complied and John did what has to be one of his final TV appearances.

  • I love the classics-

    What happened to SNL

It actually use to be funny

  • Ms Fast Slow...I would agree. It was great with the SNL cast: Belushi, Ackroyd, Radner, etc.

Now I don't even watch it.

  • This must have been before Dan and John left in 1979.

  • This was on Steve Martin's "Best Show Ever" in 1981. They were guests on the show. They were long gone from SNL at this point.

  • haha fakt ftipný....

  • Man, it's hard to believe Dan Akroyd wore tight slacks and looked soooooooo cool .

    -_-

  • Loved this when it came out, STILL love it!!

  • Isn't that John Belushi? Yeah, I'm sure he is! I always love(d) to see Dan and John together on screen!

  • does it matter?

  • do you have "the elephant man' skit here?

and the skit where he got run over by a bulldozer?

if you have all that show recorded please let me know

  • Czech women sure have gotten much hotter over the past 30 years... )

  • good bless the person who record this on that year with a vhs!

  • that would be me :-) this came directly from the VHS tape made when it aired.

  • they're czech is very heavily accented in English

  • SNL in its hay day.`

  • Although these characters originated on SNL, this particular sketch did not appear on SNL, but instead on Steve Martin's "Best Show Ever".

  • I did not know this. I do remember these characters on SNL though. Steve Martin was almost a regular.

Maybe I'm getting old, but things just seemed funnier back then. I know I laughed a lot at these guys.

  • got to love the walk

  • Anyone have that bag o' glass skit?

  • Can people be any more anal...and literal?

  • The original Borats.

  • They are nothing like borat. First off they're not Kazakhs they're czech and they're trying to pick up women borat never did that

  • Im from Slovakia and this is the first time Ive seen the Czech brothers :D

  • they werent actually speaking czech lol.

  • or slovak

  • yeah, my parents are both slovak, thats how I figured haha.

  • @ 11tracymcgrady Blues Bros were never the W & C guys. Nope. Different routine.

Blues Bros was Dan & Belushi

    W & C guys was Steve & Dan.

  • Man Dan was so thin! haha and Steve is a kinda cute...

  • When Belushi came on as a fat chick, I almost wet my pants laughing.

  • has anyone seen the original "two wild and crazy guys" titled the blues brothers? i've been looking have been unsuccessful. if you find it please send it to me or give me a link or something. :)

by the way great vid. very funny

  • I've been trying to find that too, I don't think it's up on youtube anymore

  • are any of the other czech brothers posted on here? this is not the funniest one skit.

  • 2 wild and crazy guys

  • its great but those sub-titles go by to fast

  • this is SNL. fuck off.

  • Yeah..the Czech Festrunk brothers..so the title was right.

  • Wow, dejwf, you really didn't get that. It's a comedy sketch, a parody, not a documentary.

  • who cares its funny

  • It's COMEDY

It's not supposed to be accurate

  • BLUges.

  • their little dance they do is hilarious!

    lmao

  • Haha, why can't new SNL be this good? I guess having a shittier cast and shittier writers might have something to do with it...

  • Mad TV has some funny bits, but they are the step child version of the original SNL

  • WTF? Czech brothers and they not speak czech! it's cheat!

  • of course they dont they're two, WILD AND CRAZY GUYS!!!!!!

  • Fox Gallery! funny stuff Steve is great

  • Good lord. Funniest damn clip.....

  • haha i wuld do that.

  • you would get a lot of ass if you did

  • Funny that they mentioned Brno in the subtitles, I worked there when I was living in CZ.

  • /salute john belushi

  • We are two wild and crazy guys!

lmao I'm studying Czech so I was cracking up when I saw this on a show about the top TV catch phrases.

  • I saw this there too.

  • Are you actually comparing this to Mad TV?

You have to be joking? Please???

Mad TV is AWFUL compared to classic SNL. Mad TV is like an immature school yard of kids trying to be funny compared to classic SNL.

  • I agree. I hate Mad TV

  • when saturday night live was at it's very best!!

  • Note that although these characters originated on SNL, this particular clip is not from SNL, but from "Steve Martin's Best Show Ever", from November 1981.

  • "My brother Jorge us such a stud bull! "

    lol

  • Awesome classic SNL, back when comedians were truly funny. Even in the raunchy segments, they still had a way of having class and real talent/humor unlike todays smut they try to pass off as humor.

  • did you buy your hat when you got here

  • It's easy to score with us - we're hard up.

  • But don´t worry, we make jokes about Americans all the time, cause we know U more than U know us :-* :-D

  • I'm from the USA and I'm sitting in Prague right now at Czech Republic. You may make fun of us too, but personally I can't think of a better people to do it. ;-) It's just good fun.

  • I love this so much. I want to look away, but I just CAN'T. I was laughing so hard it hurt. Who doesn't love Dan?? Wow.

  • Those two remind me of Nico and Roman from GTA 4.

Oh, and Brno is the 2nd biggest city in the present-day Czech Republic. Just FYI...

  • classic.

  • Who is that HOT Czechoslovakian chick that they picked up on? I think Im getting a woody.

  • i must find Slovakian Metal! i already know Czech metal!>>>>"Arakain-Vir"......................and Skwor is a good czech band too!

  • Comment removed

  • im buying some of those pants!!!!

  • is that dan akeriod?

  • yup

  • Oh, dear. I love this. I love the dances they do when they laugh.

  • the american fashions of the time were pretty much like that anyway

  • Welcome to 1981

  • Back in those days, all the Eastern Bloc countries were "behind the iron curtain" and the stereotype was the same for all of them, including that the women looked like Belushi's character. I don't think they meant to pick on Czechoslovakia, but they probably chose it because nobody knew anything about it so they could just be weird and nobody would know the difference. If they chose something more obscure, like Ukrainian, people wouldn't even know it back then.

  • They were from Slovakia!!!

  • No, they were from Czechoslovakia. There was no "Slovakia" in those days, it was "Czechoslovakia".

  • But they were from Bratislava which is in Slovakia now!

  • But back then it was not Slovakia, it was Czechoslovakia. So, in this clip, they are from Czechoslovakia. If we saw a skit with them in it today then they'd be from Slovakia, today.

  • "Of course! They pretended not to notice our bulges!" haha

  • Hilarious!

  • classic

  • hahah

    i love steve martin's walk

  • Ya' gotta'love those two 'wild and crazy guys!!!!'

  • I of Bohemia and the Czech is not

  • Cooo?

  • lulz

    pure lulz

anyone seen when they meet the Roxbury guys?

  • Lmao, this is so funny,

althrough fkkin Jorge? sounds more like a scandinavian name to me, but who cares anyway, I laughed

  • This is classic humor. What's offensive about it? Americans get made fun of ALL the time-esp. on SNL!

  • LOL! That is funny!

  • What's that language??? Mongolian??? And The names??? What does it has to do with Czechoslovakia??? They totally lost the plot!!!

  • In my opinion someone did not know how thosetimes czechoslovakia was. this kind of humor is for the less inteligent ihabitants? i think yes.

by the way, the czech spoken text is absolutely not in czech, even no slovak(polish) language. translations are not just about opening the dictionary :-)

  • it's called a joke.

  • afterall, we are a bunch of wild and crazy americans!!!!!

  • Try a sense of humor man. Please just try.

  • they fun fromt show eyes good und efen de pants I also weren somtimes, butt de Hat, I nefer kno, do you get it? Choke? Hooo boy or what??

  • If I remember it right Steve Martin lived in Chicago which had a large Czech, Polish emigre population for time. On the NBC website they have a skit which have them speaking a lot more Czech. They also show their vacuum cleaner straight from Bratislava, with Pozor on it. To all the native Czechs out there chill out;SNL has been on the air for 30 years and makes fun of everything. My dad had the same exact pants when he came to America until my mom got rid of them. Immigrants do funny things.

  • i heard that this show is really big in america but i don't find it funny at all, maybe its for kids or something? it's not a cultural thing because there is a lot of american comedy i do like but i just find this to b terrible.

  • thats because you dont have a clue about true comedic heros

  • yes i do

  • Steve Martin is THE King of Comedy

  • "We purchased our hats when we came".

    Hahaha

  • reperesent :)

  • AH! hehe, "hello chEEKs!"

    how is steve so HILARIOUS?!!

  • I was born in Trutnov- VERY CZECH and to me this IS hilarious. Not only does it remind me of Some Awkward Czechs I know, but also a great many Slavic newcomers. naturally all in GOOD FUN - MOJO BABY- and this has SERIOUS MOJO. (Swingin mojo none the less). lol. Now WHERE is the skit Czech bros Vs. Roxburry Guys??? NOW THAT was PERFECT! (P.S. I think the Abundant intellect is what most find threatening about the Czech culture- so this is America's way of dealing with that...) he he he.

  • we are a couple of wild and crazy guys

  • we are a couple of wild and crazy guys

  • Let's GET IT OUT!

  • omg the "girl" from their country's boobs were swinging all over the place, even when she stood still LMAO

  • John Belushi! Hahaha.

  • We wear tighht pants to show off our BULGES!

  • Do you have any more footage from that show you can post? I'm looking for Steve's list of things I'm thankful For. (I am thankful that Jonas Salk decided to go into medicine instead of becoming a member of the Temptations), etc.

  • these guys make me want to be on this show.

  • anybody know if is the SNL season 4 DVD set is coming out soon? I have the first three and am very happy to have them

  • December 2nd! TOMORROW!

  • we're two WIIILD AND CRAZYY GUYSS!

  • fdohlin - I was responding to zoltanroolz's comment about Slovakia - which didn't yet exist as a separate country when the sketch aired in 1981.

  • goobly moo; they refer to escaping the soviet tanks that invaded in 1968...

  • This sketch aired in November 1981, and it wasn't until January 1993 that Czechoslovakia split.

  • Why is there even any debate about "Czech" satire? (I haven't read all the comments below.)

In a sketch, they clearly refer to smuggling something "out of Bratislava". If they are making fun of any particular nationality/sub-culture (a la Borat) it is Slovakia not the Czech Republic.

  • Im czech and while i admit that this shows nothing about czech culture its hysterical

  • well Iam Czech and I must say that the Czech brothers rules !

  • Sooooo goofy!Ha ha ha ha haaaaaa...oh!:D

  • Also, from what I can tell Czech women actually tend to have bigger breasts than American women. Don't believe me? Veronika Zemanova. Case closed!

  • WE ARE... 2 WILD and CRAZY GUYS!!!!!

  • There were several others, all on SNL. I suspect the SNL sketches don't stay up long after being posted.

  • Is this the only Festrunk Brothers skit they did? I could have sworn there were more but I can't find them here.

  • I was tryin to reply to somebody..........

I love this skit......one of the best.

  • Hey,! I wish that I, too, could swing so successfully with attractive American foxes with big breasts, too! So get off my back!

  • People that can't laugh at themselves really annoy the shit out of me. I am 100% Czech-American, and this was one of the funniest things I saw when I was growing up. I used to go around the house immitating these guys, and my family would laugh their asses off.

  • Actually, I should say I'm American-Czech. Always an American first! Let's swing!

  • I am glad you enjoyed the skit, as you can imagine I did not. You made a point of saying (in between all the swearing) that people should be able to laugh at themselves. I don't see anything in this skit that is representative of the Czech culture. Perhaps if those elements were truly there I would find it funnier.

Sounds like you've really been brainwashed by the USA mentality with your American-Czech (you know the order of the words doesn't mean anything) and your view of former homeland.

  • Well the West (England and America) have a long history of portraying the eastern block as ignorant and backward. Chamberlain did that in 1938 by calling Czechs something like "an unknown people from a far off land" Yeah, it's dumb, but that's SNL.

  • LOL, there was no "eastern block" in 1938! Czechoslovakia was the 5th richest state all over the world. Just because of Chamberlain there were Nazis and communists - and the Czechoslovak economy got worse. Eastern block was there after the WW2, not before it.

  • Yeah, I know there was no Eastern Block. I just refer to CZE, POL, ROM, etc. as Eastern Block.

  • As a Czech I find this very offensive ..........the lowest kind of humor there is. Being as talentless as Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd are, doesn't leave you with much else to do I guess.

  • lol

  • This is not from SNL. This is from Steve Martin's "Best Show Ever". Although the characters did originate on SNL and there would be a sketch many of the times that Steve Martin hosted SNL.

  • Oh, ok. I actually realized that it's probably something different when I saw the thing at the very end and thought, "great, now everyone's gonna be like 'THIS ISN'T FROM SNL YOU DIPSHIT, GAH.'" Hah.

  • it is from snl and its actually was releassed in 1979

  • As I've previously mentioned, this is from Steve Martin's Best Show Ever, from November 1981. There had been other "Wild And Crazy Guys" sketches (I think 3 on SNL) before this one on his special. This video came directly from my taping of this special when it aired in November 1981.

  • This must be the only classic SNL clip that NBC hasn't thrown a bitchfit about and gotten removed.

  • John belushi is boss.

  • Vypadá to že Stýf Mártyn bude pěknej dement
