1) Those are anti-static gloves. They prevent static electricity to build up and zap the components or yourself...

2) It makes it superior to the lesser 580 models, but only if you use retardly high resolutions and absurd filters you appreciate difference.

@DevilmanAltair Yeah, in order to milk those 3 gigs you have to play in resolutions above 1920x1080 with max settings and every filter on in high end AAA games... and even then, the difference will be like 10 fps. Don't get me wrong, it's definetly a good investment (a Graphics card like this won't be getting obsolete anything near) for a gaming PC, but those 3 gigs, without rising internal clock, memories and such in the card itself creates somewhat of a funnel that limits the max outputitgives

@94babito From what I can gather, 3GB is necessary for 1 monitor if you are going to play games in high resolutions (1080 upwards) and if you can going to play games on super high settings, like max anti-aliasing etc.

I've just ordered the card in question, and my Hyundai LCD monitor only supports a max res of 1680 x 1050! So next month, once I get paid, I'll be looking into a better monitor.

@DarkMX1000 Palit is a normal 2pci slot card and Gainward is 2.5 slots which makes 3-way SLi impossible in most cases and mainboard setups.

@lxlANDlxl If you plan to go with air then Phantom is the way to go, unless you want to water cool you could pick up the palit for cheaper and buy the upcoming EK waterblock. I recommended getting the 3GB GTX 580 over the GTX 590 because they have more vram to support AA at higher resolution like 30" surround etc, hope this helps
