I love this sonng: as soon as I bought this CD (Wowee Zowee), I put it on heavy rotation on my CD player. I still listen to it often, it is a real joy every time.

I own what must be 100s of dvd bootlegs of great live shows, whether it's a perfect stones from 72 or a rollins band from 88 or a PIL from 81. this performance from the dvd set is possibly one of the most perfect performances i've ever seen, stephen is almost beyond caught up in the moment/song both with a sense of humor and seriousness. check out the dvd for other angles from the same performance, insane.

my favorite Pavement song. It's my love of that riff that had me buying Wowee Zowee at my local shop when I was 15 for something like $25 (this was when indie cds used to be crazy expensive).
Anyways, props to Matador for making up the re-issue.
