Hey man. Do you know how exhaust works? It makes abilitys do 35% less damage.
She hit him for 147 damage. That's why the runes dont matter, we already know how hard her ult hit him after rune calculation. We do reverse percentage calculation to find out what that damage would have been before exhaust(147/65*100). That is 226 damage. He had 237 HP right before impact. This means he would have survived. There is no arguing with basic math. Again nice move but ultimately futile
@SirVown No you dont know how it works. It lowers your attack damage ON HIT. Not your actual AD. Just try using exhaust on someone in a game, their AD stays the same. Ergo scaling on ult is the same ergo my math is right.
@SirVown It doesnt matter how much extra damage she gets.....
WE ALREADY KNOW HOW MUCH HER ULT HITS FOR BCUS IT POPS UP AFTER HE GETS SHOT. THAT DAMAGE INCLUDES ANY BONUS DAMAGE.
Again, your actual AD does not get lowered by 70%, your on hit attack damage does. This means her ult hits for whatever it is supposed to hit, only for 65% damage(35%reduced). Then its simple math. It's not complex.
If you look, when the video is paused the Exhaust summoner turns blue, meaning that it was put on cooldown and used. This was BEFORE the ultimate bullet hit Graves, and the exhaust reduction took effect. The animation is just slightly delayed. Also, there is no way Graves would have lost only one bar to a regular Cait ultimate, I refuse to believe it.
OKAY GUYS YOU NEED TO START THINKING GRAVES SAVED HIS ASS BY QUICK THINKING, THE ULTI DOES LIKE 140+ DMG 2 HIM AND IT WOULD DO 250 DMG FROM BASE THEREFORE THE EXHAUST WAS IN EFFECT ON THE DAMAGE TAKEN
@markec017 You are wrong, FAR too much damage was taken off the ult for exhaust not to have worked, I just calculated it and cait needs negative bonus attack damage for her ult to do 147 damage to him without exhaust.
I don't wanna ruin this, but doesn't exhaust reduce the damage before casting?Like if you exhaust a Kassadin while Void Sphere is mid-air you'll still take the dmg you would take without exhausting.
@WeAreOutOfWeed13 Not sure, even if it is like that for targetable spells, Caits spell is only part targetable, seeing it can be interrupted by another which means it should calculate damage on impact.
Actually a DEFINITIVE math, no matter her runes is on impact damage.
In this vid that is 147.
Before exhaust that damage is 226,15(147/65*100)
So he would have lived(237>226). Again, nice move to be less risky, but ultimately futile.

@SirVown Her ult cant crit. It says it crits but it only does the damage it is supposed to do.
Using 2 summoners to avoid 80 damage is not smart.
I already stated that it was a good move, quick reaction so on so on. Just not ultimately necessary.

Exhaust makes the ult do 65% damage. His armour makes him take ~63% damage.
147 (damage from ult) = 0.65(0.63(250+2AD) > Amount of damage ult does after reductions
Find out Cait has around 53 bonus AD.
This means that her ult does 356 physical damage, but only 224 to graves. So he would survive.
HOWEVER, you can also work out how much armpen Cait would need for her ult to kill him
238 (his health) = 1 - ((63 - P)/163 - P))*356
You find P = 14, so she needs 14 arp to kill him, which is reachable.

Cait hit before you exhaust you didn't even need to flash or exhaust it's the same damage you just exhausted after it hit.

So graves just lost hp on purpose, to make a play using both summoners, that didnt have any impact on the outcome anyway...

@SirVown you do realise the exhaust was put on AFTER the damage was done.. hence the fail part. lol

It's possible he might have survived from his passive granting bonus defensive stats but I doubt it.
