This is such a great musical. I saw it on tuesday when adam vesperman was playing billy and he was great. This was one of the best songs. It's enough to make you cry when the miners go down and all you can hear is the brave echo of "the ground is empty and cold as hell, but we all go together when we go". And then after that, silence. I was overwhelmed and loved every second of it!

I absolutely loved in when the miners turned away from Billy and looked out into the crowd with fog obscuring their bodies and faces, with 20 or so mining helmets shining through. Then effect of decending into the mine was completely moving, the elevator cracking and ringing, their voices getting quiterr and farther away, the final boom when they reached the bottom. Best scene of the entire production if you ask me.
