This is mostly out of Africa/Nigeria so if any buyer says anything to do with Africa you cancel the auction/bid and run the other way

If anyone has a website that feeds images or is linked to eBay their bots are spying on what you have on your site. I assume they are archiving site content as well. I had several visits from 216.113.181.67 today.

It is advisable to block this whole ip range if you have the ability. eBay owns 216.113.160.0 through 216.113.191.255.

Depending on your server configuration it is possible to block the whole net range with a wildcard. It's none of eBay's business whats on our websites!

this is a good idea until you get caught. they have what you call goody too shoes out there. basically schmucks and putzes who dont even work for ebay and rat on you. if you get ratted on, ebay will remove them or worse.

ebay is mostly a zero overhead web based company. their cookies tracking and software detect and act on themselves. they have no customer service, no one to talk to. only if someone complains will it get a human response especially if it means them being able to make a buck

I've got some news here. I am not a power seller of any kind nor will I ever be. Ebay has not taken down any of my accounts due to accepting alternative payments such as money orders or checks. This month alone I have sold more than 150 items and have accepted Money orders and Paypal (even though I got screwed by them latley)I have been receiving money orders and checks for about 40% of those paid. I have had this account since 2001. I guess they are not targeting everybody.

Obviously the 'bots' that scan through key words...money order/checks won't be able to pick up the html!!! Just make sure you guys don't name your pictures with those words!

I have a bad paypal story. This is to do with paypal's 21 day payment hold. I just sold an item, got paid and exchanged feedback and pay-up-pal is still holding my money for 21 days. It has been 12 days since shipping arrived and 15 days since feedback was left. They said it would be removed sooner if shipping was confirmed or feedback was left. I guess theyy are really screwing everybody. I set this item up as a test. I still sell and only accept alternate payment methods.

Be careful, Ebay can cancel your auction if you in anyway discourage the buyers not to use Paypal, it says on their site. You also need to tell the buyers that if they send money by Paypal, you will refund it, and not to ship the item..

I just hard from an eBay buyer who said that there is no option for paying for the item except credit card via paypal.

I advised him to contact the seller for alternative payment forms. I guess it all boils down to communicate, communicate, communicate.
