Heym just curious, but whats the point of tying one arm down? is that like a speed thing? or just learning how to protect yourself with one hand? it's a cool drill.
@know1important I dont know where you're getting your information, but krav maga is NOT a product of Wing Chun. First of all Wing Chun was invented by a Woman who couldn't endure the hard style of Northern Shaolin Long Fist, so she took what she knew and thus, Wing Chun was born. Krav Maga is built on he bases of quick punches and kicks, as well as grappling. WIng Chun is also Considered to be SOUTHERN Shaolin, a style which was Never used in war. So again, Wing Chun is NO Good. No disrespect.
So how can you expect to be able to pull of these moves in real life against a resisting opponent when you don't train against a resisting opponent. You don't even have to go full contact or full speed but at least half speed and semi contact. In other words to drill with resistance and not full cooperation from the attacker.
Sorry... I do not know Krava Maga. What exactly was this person being tested on? It looked like a big clusterfuck. On one hand, I read KM people mentioning that it is a deadly self defence art; then I see boxing gloves, headgear, and one armed belt tied somethings. Seems weird to me.
you learnt were trained by second grade people i'm afriad. infact, KM has alot of depth and discipline to it. and the way it taught vary from one person's needs. for instance, you can be sure that when KM is being taught not only as "self defense" but as a jack of all trades with proper knowledge of wrestling, boxing,JJ ,karate, it is much different.
also, the way military units is very different as well obviously from any type of civilian training
Impressive, but alot of these techniques seem to be based on strength, overpowering your attacker with strength, but what If your attacker is stronger?
@epdug I think you're confusing strenght with aggression, KM has aggressiveness as a essential part of the "sport" and the purpose is to be able to kick your attacker's ass even if he is stronger than you.
@epdug Krav Maga is a mindset that something can always be done. I teach it for law enforcement. Like any traditional Martial Arts out there, this is not the end all of all techniques. Closest target/Closest weapon. Keep fighting. Just like everything else you do, practice of a techique will improve your effectiveness and speed. This may look sloppy to some. But, when they say a 4 hour test....Yes, it's truely 4 hours, not a bunch of rests/breaks for instructions. She did good.
@FunLover22122 haha :DD i know more than enough about krav maga, i was in a sparring with good krav maga fighters. 7 of 7 our Ving Tsun guys won the battle. What about me - 8 years of kick boxing, 2 years Judo and 1 year Ving Tsun. (btw yes, only 1 year of WSL/PHB Ving Tsun and I was able to knock out the krav maga guy who had more than 5 years of experience)
@MetapoliC What does this have to do with anything? So because you sparred with Krav maga fighters you know more than enough about it? You are very delusional and even if what you said is true who cares Krav Maga is still a great self defense system and it was made for that reason SELF DEFENSE... I just can't stand people like you who come and try to belittle something because they think they are so much better... grow up and get a life :)
@FunLover22122 dont tell me what to do mate :) I cant stand people who say "This and that is the best" only because it is their opinion. Yes Krav Maga is a self defense art but in my eyes it is a bad one...
@MetapoliC number 1 i didnt say it was the best i said it was a great system which has been proven by more than one military ... and two you cant stand me saying its a great system but you can come in saying it sucks? kinda hypocritical dont ya think lol this will be the last comment i post on the subject :)
@MetapoliC That's kind of an unfair comparison of experience. You have a total of 11yrs under your belt. Comparing your last year versus someone with 5yrs in a single system is not a level playing field. Just saying. Your opinion of Krav is fine with me. @moelicious1 no discussion left to have with him lol my point was because he sparred with someone he thinks he knows it all and thats that i respect all martial arts none are to be taken lightly i just cant stand people who come onto one and trash talk it because they think they know
She's a real grafter, pity some of the knob-ends on here can't credit her skill and dedication to krav maga, AND I'd pay money to watch her kick their arses. Go girl, I'm a fan!
hell of a test- she just keeps going- great techniques shown by her- better than many students i have seen in krav maga-great vidio to learn a technique from. thanks oldsgtmajusmc in clarksville tn
The one problem I have with KM is that you never see any of the actual self defense techniques performed or pulled off when they live spar. Whether it be with weapons or empty hand I have never seen that. Its like ok now we are going to work on self defense and then we are going to Kickbox??! If you want to make a certain technique work you have to be able to pull it off against dynamic resistance! If you are KM student you should ask yourself "Can I really pull this of against resistance"
@mrravethewave1 it's because the moves in krav are so pain inflicting and lethal, that if they spared with them their buddy would be heading to the emergency room. So they can only use the basics like punches and kicks
@avalanchesoul you can't teach heart you have to earn it, to pay for it in sweat and blood. Anything else is just fantasy bullshit. Better to be a student of reality than a master of illusion.
@iamthereallebowski well that's a nice little soundbite you made up there and that may be your experience, but i've seen cats become tenacious with a little training. we used to say that about little homies in the hood, "he's like a pit puppy, he'll grow his balls once he's dominated somebody." so i think the end of your cool sounding quote there fits more my viewpoint than yours since i'm talkin reality and you're talking platitudes. but whatev.
@avalanchesoul heart is earned through experience. Not taught. You pay for it in the ring and on the mats, you become desensitized to violence only through experience. Well in my experience anyway. Maybe you can read it in a book or get it looking at youtube videos but I doubt it. I've seen many guys who think they know how to fight crumble when they start getting hit in the face. Peace.
@iamthereallebowski well it seems we're talking the same thing. you're taught and learn fighting by doing it. by doing it, you can learn heart. not every hard ass was born a hard ass. some learn to be tough. keep training. peace.
@Varishnu agreed - more than one style should be learned. i think a black belt should be 4 year minimum for 1st dan. some of the people i've come across that received a black belt in 2 years were just cookie cut, generally just good and 1 or 2 moves.
-.- that is a chick and she could knock you into next week. these tests are insanely hard. even the israeli's wanna know why we're so aggressive.
Krav Maga was designed to knock out Nazi youths with one hit. the history is interesting and the teacher developed very broad, gross motor skill combinations that could be used by male or female, any size, any age - then he went on to each every man and woman who served in the Israel Military.
@Varishnu krav maga isn't actually a style of fighting - the combatives are based mainly on techniques from thai boxing, boxing, judo and jiu jitsu. Krav Maga is not a martial art but it has lots of similarities to the concept of mma in that the most important thing is to win.
This looks like a bunch of shit you see in movies. At our gym the krav maga class never spars with the boxers or mma or muay thai. Maybe its just the class where Im from but it just seems this style teaches a person enough to get their ass whooped
@kray1192 me to the ass look kinda feminin his voice a little girly FACE MAN .. but body like a little girly and tiny manly wtf i thing this is a girl honestly
High Kicks and Judo Throws are not highly emphasized in Krav, which is why they might not look that impressive to some of you.
Like many of the street fighting arts, Krav doesn't want you to go to the ground, so it doesn't encourage throwing someone unless you just have to. Not only that, but it encourages getting off the ground asap.
Not only that, but high kicks are considered dangerous for the most part... and while they might be flashy and show athleticism, are not typically encouraged.
@kewlcalidude99 krav is coward well allot of it KEEP HITTING BALLS WTF IS THAT FUCKING COWARD MOVE i that that shit learn something called MUAY THAI and make the flying kneee straight to the fucking opponent face!!
@GanGsTerR4Live krav maga is coward? you obviously don't understand what krav maga is. self defense. not martial arts. krav maga is real life situational fighting. if you're being attacked, kick them in the groin. do you really care about how they feel if they're attacking you?
noBUT IGOT HONOR amnot acoward tohit people's balls requiresno skills whatsoever i would do muay thai in him flying knee to the face or chest whatever elbow in the head fuck him upwith muay thai the defensive is good but i would replace all of the cowards move like hit balls Tosomething moreEffective likeFlying knee to the chest and etleast i can kick right and fast and 10X then afucking krav maga Coward wanna learn it KICK SOMEBODY'S BALLS YA COWARDS!! that what isreali army is good for FUCK th
Keep in mind that these tests are extremely long and it's a given that people will obviously make mistakes due to fatigue. Krav Maga tests are based on aggression and fortitude as much as technique.
Having excellent technique is great, but mistakes happen in real situations... there's no time to go "wait a minute... let's try that one again, eh?"
This is why many of the weapon's defense techniques will look sloppy, especially at lower levels.
The knife defense at 4:18 was done incorrectly... she was supposed to angle her arm at more of a 45 degree angle so the knife wouldn't slide down her arm like that. After doing so, you would then push the arm back while striking in order to soften the attacker, then finally go for the disarm... if the attacker hasn't already dropped the weapon in the first place.
Keep in mind that in Krav, we train to handle our mistakes, so she did the right thing by continuing on even though she messed up.
one martial arts that i want so much to learn is this. Krav Maga. i felt so intense just by watching this video. wow man, she can punch me with 1 strike, i would get very bad wound lol
not bad. workout or trainingsconcept seems ok. but I am a fan of uniforms at such military art. LONG, black pants and same shirt f all. t-shirts. this group looks like a circus full of colours. greetings from germany, Erwin H. Trepte 6. Dan full instructor.
@budokuma Uniforms should be the last of your worries when it comes to MA training. Why not focus on technique and let the person decide what colour to wear?
. You cant really say the Gidon system is the original, as he changed and developed KM much the as Eyal Yanilov {kmg} has done, and im sure Haim Zut {kmf} has also done; {compared to what they we thought by Imi}. There are many KM clubs not affiliated with any of these well known federations , this might be one, they prob develop there own way original based from one a larger federation like the 3 above.
@bob23yer lol... mma are you kidding there fighing liuke shit good defense on gun and crap but coward move when hitting balls... mma is way better muay thai the best way to go FLYING KNEE TO THE FACE YEAH BUDDY
@tnmyat2 There are these things called jokes, you might not understand what a "Joke" means but you might with a little bit of training. First lesson is buy and watch a Dennis Leary DVD, those things he says that the audience laugh at are called "Jokes". In time you will understand the concept of humour, then come back and read my original comment. It will mean something so much different to what you originally thought it meant!
so what is this is this the pass level as it could be p5 as theirs pass graduate and then trainer i think i remember their is 5 levels for each grade but im not sure if trainer is one of them all i remember is when you get to the 3rd grade you can officially teach krav maga
This lady is a pleasure to watch. She maintains a level of intensity not easily found in female martial artist. There were a few times maybe her training partner may have over cooperated with her on some of the moves, but come on it was pure mayhem for 4 hours. I dont know many men that could keep that pace for that long. I have nothing but respect for her(and possibly a little fear ha ha ha).
as a insructor in KM self defense I not only applaude this young lady but also the instructor who brought her that far-once the body starts to shut down her mental attitude helped her survive-we all rreolize that this test was in a school envirement-but-to go more than 3 to 4 hours under stress and not quit shows what a heroine she is-oldsgtmajusmc
this is for grtz. you didn't mention if you were k.m.i'm a brown belt in k.m. and i'm dammed proud of her!if you are k. m. then you know the tests last 4 hours nonstop.she did EVERYTHING RIGHT!the principiles were done under extreme stress & fatigue.she didn't think, just acted.fatigue simulates fear thats why we train at disadvantage!when i tested our inst. saved sparring and grapplin for last.when time was called i thanked god caus my bodhad shot down 1 min. before! follow her lead ladies!!!!!
if she defends herself on an armed attack in the street with a real agressor, she will probably not survive, defense on knife, stick and gun is sloppy. if we do our test like that we are not passed !
@argos250 shut up! she has worked hard to achieve what she has achieved and let me tell you, with her skills she has a much greater chance of survival in comparison to someone who does not practice krav maga.
Heym just curious, but whats the point of tying one arm down? is that like a speed thing? or just learning how to protect yourself with one hand? it's a cool drill.

Having excellent technique is great, but mistakes happen in real situations... there's no time to go "wait a minute... let's try that one again, eh?"
This is why many of the weapon's defense techniques will look sloppy, especially at lower levels.
kewlcalidude99 3 months ago 2
The knife defense at 4:18 was done incorrectly... she was supposed to angle her arm at more of a 45 degree angle so the knife wouldn't slide down her arm like that. After doing so, you would then push the arm back while striking in order to soften the attacker, then finally go for the disarm... if the attacker hasn't already dropped the weapon in the first place.
Keep in mind that in Krav, we train to handle our mistakes, so she did the right thing by continuing on even though she messed up.

not bad. workout or trainingsconcept seems ok. but I am a fan of uniforms at such military art. LONG, black pants and same shirt f all. t-shirts. this group looks like a circus full of colours. greetings from germany, Erwin H. Trepte 6. Dan full instructor.

@budokuma And that is why I hate traditional martial arts systems.

@acapellajohn be nice to the man. He is German. It's in his blood!

@budokuma Uniforms should be the last of your worries when it comes to MA training. Why not focus on technique and let the person decide what colour to wear?
mark1983peace 4 months ago
you can teach technique but you you cant teach heart. This one def. has HEART!!!

i like how most of the techniques look like they are quick and intuitive type of moves you need to pull off under pressure

Nice but this looks more like MMA instead of Krav Maga.

tnmyat2 3 months ago
@tnmyat2 There are these things called jokes, you might not understand what a "Joke" means but you might with a little bit of training. First lesson is buy and watch a Dennis Leary DVD, those things he says that the audience laugh at are called "Jokes". In time you will understand the concept of humour, then come back and read my original comment. It will mean something so much different to what you originally thought it meant!

All I can say is wow. Bravo Zulu young lady. I salute you. K.M. is serious real life self defense. No ref and no tapping.
CoachArmand 9 months ago
This lady is a pleasure to watch. She maintains a level of intensity not easily found in female martial artist. There were a few times maybe her training partner may have over cooperated with her on some of the moves, but come on it was pure mayhem for 4 hours. I dont know many men that could keep that pace for that long. I have nothing but respect for her(and possibly a little fear ha ha ha).

as a insructor in KM self defense I not only applaude this young lady but also the instructor who brought her that far-once the body starts to shut down her mental attitude helped her survive-we all rreolize that this test was in a school envirement-but-to go more than 3 to 4 hours under stress and not quit shows what a heroine she is-oldsgtmajusmc
oldsgtmajusmc 11 months ago
this is for grtz. you didn't mention if you were k.m.i'm a brown belt in k.m. and i'm dammed proud of her!if you are k. m. then you know the tests last 4 hours nonstop.she did EVERYTHING RIGHT!the principiles were done under extreme stress & fatigue.she didn't think, just acted.fatigue simulates fear thats why we train at disadvantage!when i tested our inst. saved sparring and grapplin for last.when time was called i thanked god caus my bodhad shot down 1 min. before! follow her lead ladies!!!!!

if she defends herself on an armed attack in the street with a real agressor, she will probably not survive, defense on knife, stick and gun is sloppy. if we do our test like that we are not passed !
grtz

@argos250 shut up! she has worked hard to achieve what she has achieved and let me tell you, with her skills she has a much greater chance of survival in comparison to someone who does not practice krav maga.
