airborne carrier!!! If that's floating with helium tanks, it'd be reasonable. There's no way for a landing strip to stay in air effectively with lifting fans. Coz the energy/fuel consumption would be multiple times higher than the amount of aircraft fuel intended to be saved by the carrier operation.
Still the tanks with light gas must be expanded with the rise in alltitude to get lift, unless the ship would simply stand in a lower altitude and would be an easy target for even the simple SAMs.
