Personally I would like to see them add a 235 division, if you build it... they will come. The gap from 206-265 is just too much for one division, there are plenty of guys around 225-235 such as Fedor that are simply too small to compete against the current top heavyweights. Some big bastards like Lesnar & Bigfoot can put on damn near 20 pounds in a day after weigh ins before the actual fight. The heavyweight division should really be 240-265 pounds IMO.
If Fedor avenges Werdum & Silva losses, and goes on to win Strikeforce title or enters UFC - he will be considered a GREAT for sure. If he doesn't sadly, he will probably end up a footnote on the page of GSP, Anderson Silva, etc in the years to come. After Henderson if Fedor wins, he should push for rematches with Werdum & Silva, and avenge his losses.

The fact is he should have gone to the UFC long ago - he would have made far more money, and made a name for himself outside MMA fans. In history in the future he wil NOT be remembered alongside GSP, Silva , etc he will be very lucky to be a footnote on the page of them. Now Fattys bargaining power to get in UFC & negotiate huge contract is greatly diminished, even with UFC now owning SF.

The funny thing about mma fans these days, is they assume a fighter is great, but as soon as they lose, all of a sudden, they were never great in the first place, and were cans, or were never even in top 10! Ive actually been training in Martial arts for almost 13 years now. I started Karate at 7, Wrestling at 14, Boxing at 15, Jiu Jitsu at 17, Muay Thai at 18, and started doing Judo this year. and guess what, I still train in all of them so yea i have martial arts experiance, and granted his wins were impressive he couldnt finish them. Frank Mir did. and yes i find a KO more impressive than a decision. and if it was easier to ko someone every fight would end KO instead of Decisions most of the time

Tim had a record of 24-4 when he fought Fedor. He was a top contender. Of course after the the Fedor fight, he lost his way but that don't matter.

Personally I would like to see them add a 235 division, if you build it... they will come. The gap from 206-265 is just too much for one division, there are plenty of guys around 225-235 such as Fedor that are simply too small to compete against the current top heavyweights. Some big bastards like Lesnar & Bigfoot can put on damn near 20 pounds in a day after weigh ins before the actual fight. The heavyweight division should really be 240-265 pounds IMO.

If Fedor avenges Werdum & Silva losses, and goes on to win Strikeforce title or enters UFC - he will be considered a GREAT for sure. If he doesn't sadly, he will probably end up a footnote on the page of GSP, Anderson Silva, etc in the years to come. After Henderson if Fedor wins, he should push for rematches with Werdum & Silva, and avenge his losses.

The fact is he should have gone to the UFC long ago - he would have made far more money, and made a name for himself outside MMA fans. In history in the future he wil NOT be remembered alongside GSP, Silva , etc he will be very lucky to be a footnote on the page of them. Now Fattys bargaining power to get in UFC & negotiate huge contract is greatly diminished, even with UFC now owning SF.

been unbeaten for 10 years! Now who else has ever done in any combat sport including boxng?

The funny thing about mma fans these days, is they assume a fighter is great, but as soon as they lose, all of a sudden, they were never great in the first place, and were cans, or were never even in top 10! The fact is, atheletes get worn out after years of fighting, but it doesn't necessarily mean they weren't great fighters! We need to understand this more!

Ive actually been training in Martial arts for almost 13 years now. I started Karate at 7, Wrestling at 14, Boxing at 15, Jiu Jitsu at 17, Muay Thai at 18, and started doing Judo this year. and guess what, I still train in all of them so yea i have martial arts experiance, and granted his wins were impressive he couldnt finish them. Frank Mir did. and yes i find a KO more impressive than a decision. and if it was easier to ko someone every fight would end KO instead of Decisions most of the time

Of course rankings mean somethin.. they base the rankings on Wins and Losses.. they just dont give some1 number 1 for no reason.. Rankings are not random, if you beat the number 1 guy, you become #1.. If you lose to a lesser ranked guy, your ranking will go down... Hence Werdum and Silva

fedor is still the most dominant heavyweight to beat the most top heavyweights.
nogueira beaten more top heavyweights, but fedor beat him twice. no one has surpassed fedor yet.
JDS has only beaten werdum so far. cain has beaten nogueira (an old nogueira too) and Lesnar... who I think belongs in another weight class.
obviously, Fedor's not number one NOW, you idiot. that doesn't change the fact that he's one of the greatest of all time for the reason I listed above.

What don't you understand about Fedor beating more top guys than anyone else? it doesn't matter how much the heavyweight division sucked--Fedor was the best at the time.
no one can be the greatest if you keep expecting them to win until they're fucking senile, so the definition of 'greatest' isn't based on that you retard.

Just because he was the best at that time doesnt mean hes the best now... thats been my point since the beginning.. i never said he wasnt one of the greatest of all time.. i was just saying that present day.. there are way too many fighters that he hasnt faced yet to still be considered the best.. Overeem, Cain Velasquez (ranked #1), Shane Carwin (ranked #3), etc.. there are 7 ppl ranked higher than him in the world.. and hes only face two of em, and lost

@kth1177 but HW division was way better in that day do u know why?because guys were more skilled then now,they were fighting in the ring which is totally different then in the cage because cage fighting is more for bigger guys and wrestlers and plus u dont even have to have some skill u have to be big and some basic skills from wrestling and boxing and u can be the best just look at cain velasquez,can he even be compared to fedors or cro cop stand up skills?no way

@kth1177 HW division in pride was way way better,look on HW division now u have 2 lets say younger fighters that would maybe be in top 20 in pride days even though i doubt that because JDS isnt even impressive but ok,so only cain would maybe be in top 20 not top 10 top 20,and look on fighters that fedor beat,minotauro,cro cop,coleman 2 times,randleman,babalu sobral,matt lidland,heath herring,tim sylvia,andrei arlovski,semmy schilt,kazujuki fujita those fighters would all beat all UFC fighters

@Wrestlefan1 Sylvia was top 5 when he fought Fedor. he just won the UFC HW strap for the second time, defended twice, lost to Couture...He handed Vera's first defeat in his career (who many considered the future of the HW division) fought Big Nog for the interim belt and lost by submission. Mind you that he was winning the fight...but still he lost.
Tim had a record of 24-4 when he fought Fedor. He was a top contender. Of course after the the Fedor fight, he lost his way but that don't matter.

When the Fedor/Syliva fight was announced even Dana called Tim a "real opponent". When he was told how Fedor whooped Tim Dana said "that's impressive". Those are FACTS. Sylvia & Arlovski were considered two of the best heavyweights in the world by EVERYONE when Fedor fought them. That is also a FACT.

Before he lost to Dos Santos he was considered one of the UFC's top heavyweights and was next in line for a title shot. Opps, Brock got destroyed by Cain Velasquez. guess Brock sucks too, right?
