  • Zx-6r is a viper?

  • I'm a new rider and am trying to decide. I'm 6'4" 220 lbs. and am looking at a Bandit 600 with 9500 miles. Also there is a 09 Ninja 250 with 2000 miles. I have been told the 250 won't fit me and won't perform well since I weigh 220. Any input?

  • 5:27 = dangerous

  • where in the fuck are you getting insurance?!?! my honda cbr600rr is costing me 62 bucks a month i am 18 years old

  • is that Arizona?

  • I've been riding dirt bikes for a good while with my friends here in NC. I'm also getting ready to take the Motorcycle Saftey Course for my area to gain some more knowledge. I'm 6'4" and about 230-235. Would a CBR600 be alright to begin with?

  • @ssqv65 Given your physical profile I'd highly recommend a 600. Its right where you want to be in terms of carrying your weight but not being too powerful for someone who's still inexperienced when it comes to riding sport bikes. A 250 can give you everything you need, but there still something that has to be said for a bike that can carry your weight easily for more than a couple years without stressing the engine too much. Most instructors don't recommend anything under a 600.

  • @odessaboy I appreciate your input man. as for a 1000.... i dont plan on having one for a good number of years, a 1000 in the mountains is like having a lamborghini in nyc. cool to say you have, yet useless in your situation. digging the vids! keep it coming

  • @ssqv65 No problem bro.. good luck.

  • @ssqv65 The exception to that rule of course is like in your case, you're essentially a first time rider, most instructors will recommend nothing under OR OVER a 600. Give it about a year, and if you feel comforatable, you could upgrade to a 1000.

A 250 serves the functional purpose of a scooter, with a bit more power and tons more ability; a 600 is a good start but can be a game of russian rullet; a 1000 for a starter is arussion rullet with all the chambers loaded.

  • 202 to the 101 north

  • you're in arizona... hahaha. i think the 202....

  • what are you using for a helmet cam that you can talk as you ride?

  • My advice is skip paying 3-4k on a ninja 250. I bought an xl250r for 800 bucks and learned to ride in 3 weeks. Sold it for 1400 and bought a zx6r. Buy yourself a 500$ pit bike to learn on. TRUST ME a 600 should be your first and last sportbike. Theres no need to buy a 250 unless your a girl, and theres no need to buy a busa unless you have a tiny dick.

  • I am planing to buy a bike next year dont know if i go 250cc 600cc SS or a 650cc sport ... 20 years old only ride a scooter 50cc ... What do you guys suggest to me to start on :

-250cc ninja old one and get some other SS 600cc bike when i feel i need to change or

-650cc bike ninja 650r 2012 model new one and keep at that bike no change ????

  • @lazarcatic If you've only ridden a little scooter which (I'm assuming this, and you know what they say about assuming) doesn't have a clutch or gears, I would suggest to start out on the 250 to learn about clutches and shifting and getting the feel of when a clutch engages. If you pour on too much throttle on a quarter liter bike, it shouldn't bite back too hard, while a 600 will.

  • @lazarcatic Definitely start out with the older 250. along with KoolAidAnd said, you don't have to worry too much about the 250, plus it's going to be a light bike and you can pick up a few things from it, and then move on whenever you feel good and ready. You'll have people giving you shit for riding a "girls" bike, but let them go ahead and be another street decoration.

  • @Madvillane buying something 10 years old and only a 250 is the smartest move for any first time riders. you WILL drop it at some point and if you wind up smashing it its a lot better spending 2 grand instead of 10.

  • how much does my height & weight matter? I'm tall and the Ninja 250 was pretty uncomfortable... should I look to a bigger bike to start on, or are there other options so I won't start on something that'll make me feel more comfortable as a newb? thanks man

  • @AdamFreeman123 it matters alot, depending on what was uncomfortable when you sat on the bike. the ninja 250 isnt much of a aggressive riding position where you lean forward as much as any supersport. go to motorcycle shops and just talk to the people, don't make any haste decisions though.

  • you ride safe like me

  • i miss my 600 1986 ninja all black next going to buy a 600 ninja

  • a 19 year old getting a 250 bike, can you give me a quote on the insurance? :D

    thx.

  • @NguyenEmpir3 why don't you call insurance companies? here's the rates for supersports, 1500-3000 a year comprehensive, lowest, with both being the highest. im paying 250 dollars a year for comprehensive on my sport bike, which would the same as a 250, if not cheaper for the 250. 600-800 dollars a year for both collision and comprehensive on a sport bike. again they have every make and model with rates.

  • Great video and informative. I've ridden my yamaha rt180 dirt bike for sometime now and a friends honda ascot 500 and wondering would a 250 ninja(2003ish) be a good choice over a 600 ninja(2005-08)? On both bikes I was about a inch or so from being flat footed(5'11, 145 pounds). Great videos 5*

  • @arguello1990 thx bra, A 600 would be fine just dont do anything too crazy at first. know your limits and stay within your riding skills and youll be fine.

  • @arguello1990 i hope you made the right choice, you are talking about completely different worlds. there are other options, here is some, 250 sport bikes, 650 sport bikes, like the sv650 suzuki, not sold in states anymore, the ninja 650, and the fz6r yamaha, detuned R6, classified as a supersport with insurance companies though. those last 3 bikes also have raised handlebars, find a shop and sit on them. as you rode a 2 stroke you may like the powerband of a supersport though.

  • @arguello1990 with your dirt bike exp you'll be fine on a 600. just remember though when you go to the dealership try out both the 250 and 600 see which one you like the best. if you are buying from a private party still feel free to stop by a dealership and test out both

  • Hey, what type of camera do you use to record your rides?

  • @justinwhoknowsit A shitty one lol i dont remember it broke before i went away for boot camp ;(

  • @terrorwitha9mm

    ah that sucks

  • Keep up the good work. I'm a new rider and I'm 5'11", 87Kg, and I was considering getting a yamaha r600 2006, second hand bike. I have heard that in U.K. bikers can restrict the power of the bike. Is this possible and if so how do I do this?

  • @santimanoantonio thx mate, idk about restricting power or why you would want to. good bike though be sure to see how many miles are on it and check outthe tires lol it seems everytime i bought a bike i had to replace the tires cuz they were always low on tread. but i would ask around or GTS (google that shit) about restricting power. good luck

  • @terrorwitha9mm It's a legal thing in the UK for young / new riders - 2 years limited to 33Bhp.

If the 2006 bike has carbs, you can fit restrictor washers in the carbs (about £35 on ebay). If injection you will need a 33Bhp ECU from Yamaha / Ebay.

ECU is marginally easier to fit / remove but more expensive.

  • @gpfwestie oh good to know. im not too familer with the uk laws

  • bought a ninja 250, sold it in less than a year and got a 1000rr. Start on 600 rocket or get a cruiser.

  • why is all them v logerz gots kawazakas

  • so If I start on a 250 and then get a r1 or r6 would it be much better?

  • @MoneyR8 Hey bro. Unless you weigh 200+ pounds you do not need a 1000. I had no clutch experience but drove a car for 5 years. Bought a r600. Turned out great, never dropped it, but because I weigh only 120 pounds the only fear i had was when I drop the bike it would over power me, plus sharp turns going slow was hard to balance (manhandle wise). you will never use all of its power. Ive popped wheelies and all and its a great bike. 1000 is too much. get 250 if ur new, or 600 but start slow.

  • where was this recorded? that car infront of u looks like it had a north dakota license

  • @BrewTownGamer haha, no thats not north dakota, i know this because theirs more than 7 cars on that freeway

  • hey man, do you live in arizona?

  • hey man, i just bought a 600cc as my starter bike and really liked your comments. im gonna take my time to build up my skills. i passed my safety rider course last week so now i'm licensed. : D

any advice you would give me since you started at 600?

  • fuck that get a Honda

  • @SinkorSwim1000 hey its me terror. i cant access my acount anymore :( i got out of boot camp and it blocked me cuz i never linked it to a email account anywho this is my new channel. im gonna have some vids sometime lol i need a bike and gear. but i like ducati my roommate has one they run and ride very well just a lil too expensive for me but good on you if you can get one.

  • Quick question im like killing myself trying to find out what bike to get first now im a short guy im 5'6'' 150 pounds and im 19 years old. People keep on telling me go 600 or 650 because im going to get bored of the "speed" look im not looking to go on the freeway often with it or looking to get 100+ mph on it or hit up the track its just something to have a little fun on and drive something different on the weekends ur cross town communiting. PLZ get back to me asap I would love an answer.

  • @Ascebba17 A ninja 250 would be a good choice. Plenty quick around town. Since your only 5'6 you want a as much control as possible at low speed and on a ninja 250 you would be almost flat footed. I'm 5'11 on a GSX-R 600 (lowest seat height out of the super sport 600s) I am barley flat footed on it. In till you get more experience you want a less powerful, lighter bike and shorter seat height which the Ninja 250 is perfect for a first bike.

  • @Ascebba17 Cont. People that say you would get sick of a 250 in a month are what I like to call highway heros.Guys that get bored with a bike because they top them out on the highway but in the backroads take every turn at 20mph in 6th gear just putting around. I've put 5k on my ninja 250 and I'm not bored with it yet. I rode a friends GSX-R 750 and most likely will be my next bike. I'll probally put another 2k on my 250 before I sell it.

  • i have not experiance with 600s, but i am saving up got a fz6 idk if you know anything about that yamaha but if you head about those please inform me if it would be a good starting bike.

  • ive wrecked every 2 wheeled vehicle ive ever touched.

  • You know that in countries like holland (where i live), starting on a 250 is out of the question? I mean I really never everrrrr saw any :p But we do get incouraged to start off on a 500/600.

  • What do you think about the GSX R750? I read a couple magazine reviews saying it's not super responsive and is a welcoming bike to new riders.

  • @HypermaxZ some people said it's dangerous because lack of engine breaking, unlike cbr..but i love the look of gsxr-750 :)

  • were is this

  • @SinkorSwim1000 awesome bikes i like the jap bikes better >)

  • @terrorwitha9mm plus, italian bike need proper service..ask previous owner about the service's history if u one to buy one..by the way i love 916..in Performance Bike mag they discover 916 fully carbon+ BST wheels :D

  • Give me atleast 4 cents. When I was 10 I got a like 50cc mini bike automatic 2 stroke. I had it for a year, and a half. I only dropped it once from turning around, and hitting some wet dirt in the road. But I could go full speed around corners (which is around 35mph) I raced it against 4 wheelers, and other minibikes, and would win. So theres my 2 wheel experience, and my first car was a cav z24 stick shift. theres my clutch experience. I want a 600 for my first. I weigh 125, and 5"7??? im 161/2

  • @zlee415 thats cool but a stick shift on a car is different than a bike. i like bikes better lol anyways as long as you ride smart and safe a 600cc bike is good

  • @zlee415 dawg you asked the exact question that ive been lookin for and im about the same height/weight as you and experience wise...and i think the 250 is jus too weak for me and im a fast leaner and i wanna start with a 600 but i hear so many ppl sayin to start with a 250 but its killin me tryin to decide!

  • @5NOOPY615 Since then, I've now rode my first manual dirtbike which was a 650 yamaha. Powerful as shit, and it was no problem. :D, i'm definately starting out with a 600.

  • @5NOOPY615 Thats the exact same problem im having

  • What would insurance be like on a 600 for a beginner who has been driving (cars) for 20 years and has a great driving record?

  • @easternbushytail cheap! if your a male and 25 years old or over, insurance will be cheaper then someone who is 21 or so. it also depends on who you go with and how many discounts you can get. and i know anything 1000cc and more the insurance goes up. i was paying 390$ for full coverage but i was young. im 24 now so 1 more year and i will have cheaper insuracne ;) but good luck and let me know what kinda bike you get and what insurance you get too.

  • @terrorwitha9mm I did a quick Geico quote over the internet the other day, and without taking the MSF course, which I will. The yearly total for a 09 R6, which is what I have my heart set on would be $348. Not bad considering I am a beginner. It may even be lower if I combine it with my current car ins which allstate. Thanks for the info terrorwitha9mm !

  • @easternbushytail your welcome and thats full coverage? and is the bike paid in full or are you gonna make payments?

  • @terrorwitha9mm That is with the bike paid in full and full coverage.

  • @easternbushytail that doesnt sound like full coverage from geico. I have an 07 R6 and MSF course too. I wanted liability, collision and comprehensive collision, and underinsured motorist coverage and my yearly rate is 3600. Needless to say I didnt get it. On ther other hand Im a 25 year old single male, dont know about you.

  • 5:28 One of the biggest reasons I am getting a bike.

  • @xxcrimxx nice! i miss it soooo much i cant wait to get back on 2 wheels

  • @xxcrimxx Lane splitting? thats how you get your ass killed by some cager.

  • @xxcrimxx one time i was running late for class and traffic was backed up 1/4 a mile from the exit i needed to get off, so i got on the shoulder and skipped a 20 min wait in a matter of seconds on my ninja 250 :)

  • @xxcrimxx Lane splitting is really dangerous, be safe!

  • @xxcrimxx bad reason ! you better just ride your pedal bike

  • I want a powerful bike...lol

iv been riding dirt bikes for about 7 years now lol

i have about $5500 to work with maybe $6000

    wut bike should i get

  • @attackRus where do you live?

some states have respect for 600 cc bikes and some treat them like 250s lol but the 600 is a all around great bike and with you past riding dirt bikes the jump wont be hard for you. then its all about the riding you wanna do. the 4 main jap bikes make sport touring bikes and supersport bikes. the supersports are my fav. but if you wanna cruise around nice and easy or take really long rides without getting sore get a spot touring.

  • @terrorwitha9mm then when you decide what type of riding you'll want to do then sit on a few at a dealership and get a feel for the different kinds. and on the ones that feel right do a lil research online and see how other people like em or if they have any common problems then find a good year make and modle and buy it used unless you can buy it out from the dealership cuz they will rape you otherwise. hope this helps let me know what you decide on. or if you have anymore questions ;)

  • @attackRus whoops there is two parts to my comment i just replied the other one to myself lol hope you see it

  • i rely want a Yamaha R6 for my first bike but i cant in Britain :( ive gotta have a 125cc im jus gunna get the Yamaha R125 then i can get my 600cc cant wait till i start riding great vid man

  • thanks!

i've seen a great clip on the yamaha r125. it looks cool and preforms well idk if you seen it. if not look it up on youtube and really get to know the bike you ride so you wont have problems and if so you will know how to take care of them ;)

  • yeah rebelyell told me about u i mean i dont care what u do i just like to see u ride

  • cool thanks

  • Thanks for the shoutout, good stuff man (:

  • no prob buddy!

oh i dont think i can make it on that ride :( i have work the night before i wont be off till 7am that morning :( but we will ride soon enough :)

  • honda made a rebel 450 back in the late 80s I had one and it was a great bike and you're rit if someone who is just starting out a 250cc is awesome and 600cc is OK if you know how to ride alittle bit.

    PS; THAT BIKE IS LOUD;}

  • nice! and its kinda loud, my buddies GSXR is really loud.

    thx for the comment
