I was given to understand that the camera first has to process the raw image the photo sensor receives, with any given settings, before it is saved to the card, it doesn't just have pixels instantly...or so I thought.

Cool little video explaining image to memory card to computer. One flaw in video is that ending sequence showing woman downloading images from card via card reader to computer.

Computer is a Mac laptop. Video shows/discusses faster download speeds using USB 3.0 Card Reader. HOWEVER, Macs don't support USB 3.0. Definite flaw in production of video.
