Spring Manor Farm on Route 32 was the farm for Mansfield Training school,the houses that were used on it are sitll owned by the state but the state rents it out to families

@bigkev2084 I filmed the farm area for subsequent segments of the next presentation. I think b/c of the SyFy show and the willingness of the family to now sell tickets for overnight paranormal sleep overs, MTS will probably end up like the Ladd Center or Norwich, chained off will no trespessing allowed.

Syfy's Paranormal Witness aired its episode about MTS last night. As expected, it was riddled with inaccuracies. The show alleged that a child was murdered by a patient/nurse at MTS: this simply is not true. Also, it was alleged that the cremated remains of some individuals were found in the basement of the superintendent's house: I found no record of that discovery. In fact, the state police would have been called in for such a grisly act. A lot of lies and not much PROOF.

@thedevilshopyard I just seen that last night. Didnt it say on the screen that the remains were sent to the police? I am not questioning you. Just seeing if my memory is correct. I have already erased it on the dvr to check back. So some of the facts on Paranormal Witness are fabricated? Not surprising. Very disappointing.

@NinjaCthulhu I was shocked at what it was b/c I went to school at UConn-Storrs for quite a long time. Little did I know what lurked at the Depot Campus. You should also check out the Isaac Johnson vampire cemetery. There isn't a lot there, but it is a good entry to complete your collection.

We are not done yet with Mansfield Training School. Two more videos which show so much more of the area, including what looks like an electroshock machine and a very bizarre set up where someone put a baseball on an idle chair in the basement of one of the dorms. There are also some heartbreaking stories of normal intelligence people imprisoned in the school.

People always say these places are haunted, I think its the spook factor more than anything. It just looks like a Hollywood stage for a ghost film, so I think the majority of haunting here is just psychological. I think vandals and the homeless are more likely lurking here. Thanks for the video and the exploring...I may need to visit too myself :P

As usual a great presentation. It always amazes me how people today regard mental institutions as "haunted", yet colleges, schools, and hospitals are also institutions and only rarely have such reputations connected to them. Unfortunately, due to the scandals of the '80's & '90's many of these largely useful institutions were closed down. They did in most cases serve a function in allowing many to lead a somewhat normal life through daily meds. Today many are our cities homeless.
