  • This is probably the most beautiful tiel I've seen. Very nice colouring (:

  • I like his style!

  • aww omg!! this is my first time seeing a gray and white cockatiel :] its so cute!

  • I love your bird!! Beautiful!! I had three. Nikki had to be put to sleep. The vet was sure she had cancer.

I have Sam, a grey male, who's 20; and Joker, a white-face cinnamon pearl/pied, female, 4 years old. I am babysitting my friend's pied male, Fritz as well.

  • He is so beautiful and looks so cute in the shower

  • how do you get them use to taking a shower?

  • Wow that's rare coloring on a Cockatiel! So beautiful and adorable too! =D

  • I was wondering how often one should bathe their bird??...i try atleast once a week with mine and im just wondering if thats enough? and should they get regular bath times in the winter? I dont want them to get sick =(

  • Well, I usually bathe my birds 4 to 5 times a week, or when I see them preening more than usual. Once a week isn't enough because they breathe in the dust that coats their feathers and that's not healthy for them. To keep their feathers healthy they really should be misted once a day - in the morning. But a bare minimum of 4 times a week is necessary :)

  • And for Winter, they should keep about the same bathing routines as any other season. Just keep in mind the temperature of the room where the cage is placed, and make sure you do it in the morning which gives your bird enough time to dry off before night :)

And don't worry if your bird shivers, it's natural, and helps their wings dry quicker ;p

  • @MellieeXoX thanks so much!!!

  • How do you get a cockatiel to take a shower cuz mine wont..... he avoids water like the paluge

  • hey after the shoer shuld i dry him or let him dry off him self :S plz tell me

  • You should let him dry himself because a blow drier can make his skin itchy and irritated. Just place him in a warm room until he is dry and cover the cage to keep out drafts.

    Thanks for asking :)

  • @MellieeXoX shit! i have dryed my cockatiels with the dryer couple of times.. :/ I will never do it again..

  • God this reminds me of my little clumsy chickens like that.^^Very cute and beautiful bird.

  • haha,

    Thanks :)

  • Yes, I keep his wings clipped because he's super clumsy! Haha, Thankss : )

  • he ist really pretty

  • Thanks : )

  • Very beautiful cockatiel! That was a great idea to get him to perch on the spritzer hose! Does the gray one do likewise?

  • Thanks! The gray one doesn't really like the hose, he prefers my hand.

  • Thanks, he's a whiteface Pied and very special because he doesn't have any red eyes at all : )

  • Wow he is soo pretty! What kind of mutation is he? They're so cute when they take bathes/showers, he looks like he is enjoying himself very much lol :)
