These were beautifull monuments, but still only objects. Ideas are bulletproof, people are not. Afghanistan is full of poverty, violence, corruption, people are starving and afraid of their future. If organizations like ONZ are so concerned about humanity at large, maybe they should help local community of Bamiyan first or rebuilding monuments and helping the people could be provided simultaniously. Buddhas are really nice guys and I think they wouldn`t have anything against such conception.

Of course there are wonderful muslims like yourself who accept people who follow other faiths, it's these "others" like those in this video that do harm to both our religions. I'm told Islam is a religion of peace, so too is Buddhism. There is no reason why anyone should hurt or attack Buddhist monk or nun or layperson.

The difference is I feel sad when anyones place of worship or sacred site is ruined no matter what religion they are. Enough of the "axis of evil" bullshit: the majority of muslims are honest, decent people. Only people tend to get into some kind of bloodlust because of the media.
