I didn't think I'd like this version so much, but there's an emotional feeling that won't be denied. It's beautiful, painful, lonely, haunting, and I can't help but hope she comes to be with him.
Every time i hear this song I'm instantly taken back about 7 years ago in my jeep out in the middle of the mountains during a snow storm with a girl named Jenn that i was madly in love with, but she didnt feel the same, i remember the blower motor in my jeep was messed up and it was so cold inside but so much fun. Back when i was working a lot of overtime, making money, and genuinely enjoying life. Oh to be able to go back. Wheres the reset button?
@diablo0072k You can't go back man. "What though the radiance which was once so bright Be now for ever taken from my sight, Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower; We will grieve not, rather find Strength in what remains behind; In the primal sympathy Which having been must ever be; In the soothing thoughts that spring Out of human suffering; In the faith that looks through death, In years that bring the philosophic mind" Wordsworth
my dad and my mom made so many memories to this song i cant wait to meet my wife i wanna do the same thing throw a blanket out in our field drink with David Allan Coe on the radio all night long

This cocksucker thinks that this was his hit song. He has a god awful voice. He sings offkey. Meathead redneck moron. it's an insult to the real composer and singer of this remarkably beautiful song.
@salieri2020 Musicians do cover songs everyday. Your vocabulary shows you to be a more fitting example of a "Meathead redneck moron" Their are minors on this site so you should have more respect for them and your self. Thank you and have a good day.
@salieri2020 he had Dave Loggins permission to do this song. If you wanna get mad at David Allan Coe for covering this song u aslo need to get mad at these people aslo Willie Nelson, Babyface, Andrew WK, Kenny Chesney, Wade Bowen, Jackopierce, Reba McEntire, Jimmy Buffett and Confederate Railroad. As they all covered this song.
I heard one of his cousins said that he never even went to prison. That's not to say he isn't mentally disturbed. I like him for his music anyway, why would anything but that even matter?
"Please Come to Boston" is the title of a song written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Dave Loggins. It was released in May 1974 as the first single from Loggins' album Apprentice (In a Musical Workshop) and was produced by Jerry Crutchfield. The song spent two weeks at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August of that year.[1] The song also spent one week atop the Billboard easy listening chart that same month.
This sure doesn't compare to Dave Loggins version. Coe took to many liberties with changing the melody, in my opinion. I'm gonna go listen to Loggins again.
David my husband and I were in Winslow this weekend and you and my husband talked breifly at the truck stop I would have loved to been able to talk to you but I could not find you ,I hope some day our paths cross again. Rose Anthony from Phx.Az

Just to keep the record straight, so nobody is confused, the origional song is much better, and the origional artist is David Loggins, 1974.
