i live in va beach. my opinion: busch gardens is closer, the scenery is better and u can still have a lot of fun. but kings dominion has MUCH better rides, and ALSO a more affordable price. both parks are great.

Kings Dominion is the better overall experience. But Busch Gardens has the best Roller Coaster in the world currently with The Griffon. I went on that roller coaster early in the morning and let me tell you all the other coasters felt like cake and I never felt my heart pound more than on the Griffon. It feels like you are actually free falling. Since there is no ground, its groundless and you fall 200 feet down. Its amazing. But Kings Dominon has better all around rides and atmosphere.

Kings Dominion is 3,000,000,000 times better than Busch Gardens. The only reason people think Busch Gardens is better is because Kings Dominion has all these fast,tall thrill rides and the people who like Bush Gardens are to scared to ride them. Busch Gardens is aminly kiddie rides.

While Busch Gardens is a far better theme park, a good thing for people who live in Virginia is that Kings Dominion offers the thrills that Busch Gardens does not and vice versa. Kings Dominion has excellent launch coasters and good wooden coasters. Busch Gardens has the B&M high quality coasters and the most beautiful theme park in the world. So, people who live in Virginia have 2 good different theme parks to go to.
