Thank You for attempting to open the eyes of Americans, regardless of your political benliefs. Unless & until we are willing to look at the TRUE costs Immigration (Legal & Illegal) we will continue down the road to overpopulation & bankruptcy. OK recently voted to keep Sharia Law out of state courts? CAIR vows to go to the Supreme Court. If you don't think your freedoms and liberties are next you are in for a rude awakening. Not just the USA! Over-immigration is already a serious issue in many countries with disasterous consequences to the social fabric in the major cities of those countries. Look at at what's happening to France, Germany, Britain, etc. Governments there are lax and allowing excess illegal immigration to slip through. Immigration must be more selective and illegals deported immediately rather than allowing them due process to stay. Once in they will stay for good.

If they claim Maya, Inca, Zuni, Aztec, Toltec or any of the other Native Tribes of central America, then they should speak that language. But to answer your question, yes, I know ALL Central Americans were once Native Americans and spoke the language of their kind. Few are now, I've met some in Southern Mexico and the Yucatan Their are Maya that live around the old cities. The Vast majority speak Spanish and Spanish customs. So?

According to this reasoning, you are suggesting that any group that is acculturated is no longer of their original heritage but instead some bastardized version of whatever culture they have adopted. I'm talking about racial and ethnic heritage, not what language they speak. Again, under that reasoning, if a person is Russian and moves to Japan, they are a "Japanese Hybrid."

@strawberryriddick Clearly, you fail to grasp the concept. Where is the Aztec, Toltec, Ulmec, Maya & Inca culture and language now? Culture is defined by language and custom. Since any remnants of these cultures is all but nonexistent in central and south America it is safe to assume they no longer exist. Since these people now speak Spanish and keep Spanish custom, they are Hispanic, not Native American.  Trotting it out on holidays does not culture make. It is a way of life, big difference.

There are an estimated 7 million Maya living in this area at the start of the 21st century, meaning they have retained their culture and language...as in, Spanish is a second language. Their language is "Yucatan Maya," also called "Maya" also called "Mam." Incas were prolific in the Andes, and citizens there preserve the indigenous culture [more]

@strawberryriddick When you have at least a Masters of Science, as I do, In either Paleontology, Pre Christian Anthropology, or Pre Colombian or Cambrian Anthropology then you will be armed with facts. They don't speak original Maya, why, because they can't read the Original Pictographs on any of the Maya Temple complexes, or the surviving Dresden Codex. But, what has any of this to do with immigration?, that is the subject of the video. Clearly, Facts are no obstacle to you making a point.

In other words, you're literally ignoring looking up facts so you can save face and look like you're right in this conversation. @strawberryriddick But this has nothing to do with the debate at hand. If you live outside the U.S. borders, you're an alien, period. Same as i am an alien in the U.K. I have to adhere to the laws of the U.K. when I travel there. Why does everyone think aliens should be excluded from our laws? Because they claim Maya, not Mayan, heritage, they are still aliens to the U.S. Their culture was destroyed by Spain. Sad but true. What's you're point?

All I was commenting on is calling people who can trace their ethnicity back to the native peoples in Central and South America "Spanish Hybrids." Doing so ignores the pockets of villages that try very hard to keep their culture, including language and religious practices, alive.
