All I can say is .....If you remove "I was made for loving you off the record, or simply Ignore the song completely for a quik moment ....Then all of a sudden no one would be calling it a Disco album i bet. Cant damn an entire album for one song.
Dynasty was the first KISS album I got, back in 1979, prior to which I'd been introduced to Luv Gun and R n' R Over. I though it was a great album, and was amazed at how different it was from their previous music, and how it all was great. As I see it today, the real KISS was before Dynasty, but Dynasty is 3/4 Kiss + a great drummer and the songs are just so great, tho not as great as real KISS to me. I love it just like I love the solo albums. Only one I don't like is Carnival of Souls, btw.

Paul and the House Band from RockStar played the shit out of this tune on his 2006 solo tour. Both Dynasty and Unmasked were attemtps by the songwriters in KISS to break down their songs, hone their craft, and rebuild the tunes after dissecting them. It made them better songwriters. It worked well on Dynasty. The exercise became a little labored on Unmasked. That's why I believe Unmasked was a qualified failure (yet I still love it) while most of Dynasty remains well received to this day.

Paul Stanley is a great musician and the greatest vocalist/frontman in Rock and Roll. I have the utmost respect for Paul Stanley because he is the heart of Kiss. Also, fellow Kiss fans, remember our frontman had the lead role in the Phantom of the Opera. That is an amazing musical accomplishment for any Rock and Roll musician/vocalist.

I think the better word for "Unmasked" might be "new wave" than "disco". It sounded a lot like The Cars and other groups from the early MTV era. The word "disco" itself was being treated like a hot potato by 1979-80, even though all it done was just evolve with a new name: "dance".

You're right. I never understand why people call Dynasty disco. I don't think it would fit in with Saturday Night Fever at all. Definitely rock.
