  • WHAT? THEY MADE A MTT VERSION FOR THE SONG?! WHY IT ISNT ON THE ITUNES ALBUM???!!!

  • I'm not religious. At all. But, music is always open to interpretation. So, even if this song was intended to be religious you don't have to hear it that way. That's part of why I find music so astounding.

  • Anyone see my green pencil? It has a red eraser that's completely done.

  • Trying to tell yourself there isn't a God is so lonely. I'm not the most religious, but I realized that I need to feel like I'm not alone. Even if it's just praying for guidance, strength, or focus. Songs like these make people feel they're not fighting alone

  • I love this song!

  • always feels nostalgic.

  • i hate how this isnt on itunes....

  • The main chorus for this song is AMAZING. It screams HERO.

Whether you see it as being about God, Jesus, or not.

This is a great song. I love it.

  • @hansjorgenolsen - I hear ya'. You have to open your mind and consider it though. Songs like this, of course, are going to have religious comments because it's a religious song. If you like a religious song and are aware that it's Christian, then why even care if a religious comment is a top comment?

On songs by Linkin Park, just correct someone if they're wrong if you are absolutely sure and move on. Why should you care as long as it doesn't personally involve you?

  • Comment removed

  • @hansjorgenolsen -Couldn't help but notice you mention something about "God" music come from "linkin park, Avenged sevenfold, Red and stuff..."

As far as I know, Linkin Park and Avenged Sevenfold aren't Christian. They may make references, but who doesn't? RED is a Christian band though and so is this band. You just have to listen closely to lyrics of their songs... And it might help to check official sites if you're especially curious whether bands are Christian or not.

  • @hansjorgenolsen I think Christianity can be a little hypocritical but it does honestly help some people so I try not to be too down on it.

  • 4 people were trying to dislike the fact there is a dislike button

  • @hansjorgenolsen Damn! I was trying so hard too~

  • @hansjorgenolsen *laughs* I was using it in an ironic sense. Bad joke?

  • @hansjorgenolsen Amen to that. Why are all the good bands Christian? >.<

  • @candymandy224 - All good bands are Christian? That may be in your opinion. What about artists such as Nine Inch Nails and Marylin Manson? They aren't Christian, though they may make references, and they are very good, if you're into their styles.

The reason most "good bands" are Christian is because they have purpose and they play what they feel.

Plus, most everything is based on religion, politics and emotions because they form the basis of life but, of course, there are exceptions.

  • @CelestialBorne Um. I was being sarcastic. Sorry if that came across wrong.

  • @candymandy224 - I see now. Nothing to be sorry about. I was just stating that since I can't read sarcasm. I was reading comments out of boredom. I apologize for possibly catching you off guard or offending you in anyway.

  • @CelestialBorne *waves hand* I do the same thing all the time. It's not a problem.

  • @hansjorgenolsen "There is a Savior in the sky, giving His life to set this world on fire"

People who commented think that the lyrics are talking about Jesus or God. And Trading Yesterday IS a Christian band. Everyone seemed to be arguing over it so I posted that comment. Sorry if I offended you.

  • I think i have a new song to add to my top 10,

  • 4 YEARS OF FALLING OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR THE SAME BAND.

  • that song means everything to me, fucking everything :') it reminded me that everything will be ok at the end, even if nobody will supportme i know i have myself, and i am strong..and this song gives me endless hope and happiness, idk why..but it does..christian or not, it has the power to light up my whole little world, and i promise God i'll do anything to fight,im so thankful for everything i have.

  • @MrsLoveDanger probably God is testing your faith and beliefs through hardship...and now the flower seed you planted is in bloom... and life is still long... just believe and everything's gonna be okay :)

I love Trading Yesterday and all of it's songs... it's like a story teller ... especially Desert Lands

  • @MrsLoveDanger yes you do, you have God to support you whether your atheist or not, i dont care

  • i remember hearing that song last year..i had so much trouble with reading..stayed up all night long..until 2 pm reading, and crying..then listening to this song to fall asleep..at the end of the year everything was pefect with school my work paid off..now i listened to it again, reminded of everything i had been through, and every fear i overcame, im crying my eyes out of have proud and blessed i am at this momet..oh my God,thank u so much

  • No one gives a shit if they are christian, music is music; fuck all of your stupid "OMG HE SO CHRISTIAN", no one gives a flying fuck, seriously.

  • It should be Son, not sun. "Know that The Son will shine again". The physical sun can't bring salvation.

  • @PreyTtheWeak it's a metaphor.

  • @PreyTtheWeak Could be a typo in the lyrics

  • Found this band by mistake. One of the best mistakes I've ever made. I'm sad they changed their name because Trading Yesterday is just such a perfect name for them. Still undecided on the religon front, but this song is still amazing.

  • When people say David hodge has other projects and that they are emotionless and shit compared to trading yesterday

  • I still love this band.

  • I dislike the dislike button so much.

  • Amen.

  • Is that Cd still in shops for sale? Cause i just recently found those songs and i'm completely charmed by them.

    I wanna know ;_;

  • @xysasusakuyx this album was never officially released ;o but the vocalist, David Hodges has other projects too ~

  • 'Sounds Christian'? Wasn't aware that came across in one's voice.

  • Not to be rude, but I don't have a religion, none. But this song, -sighs a sweet sigh- I love it. ^-^

  • Just came across this on an AMV of all places. O_o I'm like, "DUDE THIS SOUNDS CHRITIAN" so I looked it up, and HEY! I like it and it's Christian music yaaaaaaay XD

  • how come this thing only get's 116.610 VIEWS!

  • @GamesIdiot because many people dont have a taste music ;)

  • @mightymaikmovies Yep, I agree

  • @GamesIdiot :D

  • im a christian AND I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!

  • this band is so awesome

  • love this an i am muslim

  • Personally, I am an atheist and have been for my entire life but I love Trading Yesterday and this song

  • omg i love skillet, red and trading yesterday. Some of my really favorite music. I had no idea they were christian bands tho~

  • im not chrustian & i love this :) and actually doesnt matter if they are christian or not - well thats what i think. :)

  • this song is special to me, my new favourite song. And the first time I listened to it on my iPod, I only heard the music. And then I saw my friend talking with the other guys around the table, and I almost STARED at him since I thought it looked so beautiful when he talked and the music played. I was stunned, it was so special..

  • Comment removed

  • i just love it when his voice says 'love'

in any song, it's just so beautiful

  • Great music doesn't need a genre, it just needs to be heard. Christian, rock, whatever...just listen and identify within the music a message that means something to you.

  • Can we stop being so hyped up about Trading Yesterday being Christan? Can't we just enjoy the music and interpret it as we want? I don't believe in an higher deity, but I LOVE Christan bands

  • anyone know songs like this one? I like all songs of trading yesterday, but this one is by far their best, and it's because the chorus is diffrent from all others, i like it alot, so does anyone know a song that is of the same genre as this one?

  • fair enough everyone is entitled to their own believes

  • and im not insulting anyone for believing in a god just making that clear

  • @1234alfreo1234 maybe you didn't mean to, but you did.

  • im anti-religion in suicide silences words "where is your fucking god, for all the prayers that go unanswered, why do you think that it? for all the familys who waste their time open your fucking eyes" BUT i do enjoy this and skillet, religion has no bearing on music taste each individual receives a different message from each song

  • Religion strongly influences music. All our prayers cannot be answered because that would be heaven. Right? we must work for a life of pleasure, it won't just pop out of nowhere. u have 2 make ur peanut butter &jelly sandwich in order to eat it.. it doesn't just make itself for u. I am not Christian but i do believe in god and if these guys where not religious, their music wouldn't be as passionate as it is now. I know you're not insulting anyone. But i also wanted to make that clear

  • @1234alfreo1234 I'm not trying to push my beliefs on you, but I just wanted to say that I'm a Christian, and my life has gotten 100000000x better ever since I accepted God. I've seen people who were supposed to be paralyzed for life stand up and walk after hearing God's voice. Maybe you're right, maybe God doesn't exist, and Christianity is all a lie, and we just die, and that's that. But what if you're wrong?

  • @Cosprints Btw, wouldn't it be less depressing to believe in something after death? Even if it can't be proved.

  • @Cosprints you just did. if youre not trying to, say something else. it isnt necessary & no one asked you. if your going to comment here, say how spectacular this song is. it doesnt matter if they believe in god. & you havnt SEEN paralyzed people walk after 'hearing gods voice'. youve read it. if it was real life, and the people that were paralized FOR LIFE, they would NOT have walked. or something happened medically. you sound dumb & gullible. pardon my rudeness, but you people are ridiculous.

  • what a nice surprise... what a nice song :) God bless

  • I love secular music even though I myself am not a Christian. I just love the serenity in these type of songs. So graceful and so much love. It makes me feel good.

  • @BeetleBUMxX secular is nonreligious.

  • Fantastic news. Just been announced that MORE THAN THIS is to be released this Autumn on David Hodges new label SLEEPWALKER records !! This awesome song will finally be available to buy in its mastered version etc. Great song with great lyrics and an amazing album which should appeal to anyone who love music not just Christians - who of course will find some of the lyrical content very agreeable !!!

  • Even though I'm not christian I really enjoy their songs ^^ It just comes to show it doesn't matter your spirituality, music is universal- that's why I love music so much :3 <3

  • LOVE THIS SONG! X3

  • I always fall in love with his voice, it's just amazing!

  • sigh who gives a fuck about their religion grow up. people like you start wars no one cares about your childish belifes, when we die we all go to the same place, the ground; whole or in ashes.

    anyway

I like this band because they sound beautiful, and their lyrics are meaningful and relevant to my life.

  • @QuantumTeapot I don't think people who post comments about Christianity are trying to start wars. They are expressing the joy the music gives them because the lyrics have deep and great meaning to the listener of the Christian faith.

  • @QuantumTeapot Okay ignorant fool. What are you doing with this comment then? Expressing your childish "belifes"? Our bodies go into the ground, yes. What point are you trying to make? To answer your question. Everyone "gives a fuck about their religion." Even you, the one who needs to grow up.

  • @QuantumTeapot is not a religion. There is no religion. When he talks about God it doesnt mean that God is a religion. God isnt a religion. Is your Father. The Father who created you.

  • Does anyone else love the way he says 'love'?

This band makes me proud to be Christian :3

  • He sounds like daughtry

  • @narutofox180 well he does write A LOT with daughtry, helping compose their songs.... and all. hes worked with so many people you wouldnt even believe how many hits hes been a part of!

  • is there another version of this song too?

i have the feeling that i have a different version of it o_O

  • I love their songs!

Most of them are like 4 or 5 mins!

    But it's worth it :)

  • great band. wondering if anyone could help me find a particular song by these guys the opening lyrics are 'ive lost who i am and i cant understand why my heart is so broken'

  • @Daniel69bro

    shattered - trading yesterday

  • Its called Shattered, it is my fav song that they have done.

  • that is their song "shattered" =D i love that one too =P

  • The song you asked is shattered - Trading Yesterday

And I've lost who I am

    And I can't understand

Why my heart is so broken

    Rejecting your love

    Without love gone wrong

    Life

    Less words

    Carry on

  • @Daniel69bro Thats not opening lyrics BTW ;) Shattered.

  • It´s "Shattered". Another awesome song :D

  • You know the By The Tree version is a cover of this.

  • amazing!!!!

  • WHO HERE KNOWS THAT TRADING YESTERDAY IS CHRISTIAN? :D i do XD

  • really???

  • yea i mean look @ the lyrics "there is a Savior in the sky, giving his life to set this world on fire" yea David Hodges used to be in Evanescence but left cuz he felt he was pushin them in a Christian band direction so he started Trading Yesterday in 2003.

  • wow i diden't know

  • @iloveevanescence1795 yeah i looked it up there a Christan Rock band!! :DD i kinda thought so b/c it sounds like it :P :D

  • @iloveevanescence1795 Haha.... Cool, I actually found this band watching the amv about a boy who forsakes god and sells his soul to a devil to get revenge. The song was so beautiful i had to find more of them. Funny how ironic some thindgs can be:)

  • @xxSoulsinDarknessxx kuroshitsuji?? :D (or Black butler in america)

  • @o0oyumeo0o funny because that's exactly how i found it! only the song was shattered not this one. both equally amazing. oh and I LOVE BLACK BUTLER!!!!! ahem, yea...

  • @SnigglePuffAndRoy ive seen two kuro/black butler (safe diff :P) amv's with the song "shattered" and they were both fantastic <3

though, im not sure if i favorited them, and now i want to see them again. its going to be a pain to find T^T

p.s.: am i the only one that perfers the japanese voices over the u.s. ones? i dont know which ones you've heard. maybe both. but i cant stand the american voices. it sounds horrible :'C

...though, if you like the english voices, thats okay too XD

  • @o0oyumeo0o GAEJWGLEWIHGEWIGH <-- me expressing my hatred for dubbed (American voicing) anime. I refuse to watch it! I hate it, it just ruins the anime D: I feel like the japanese voicing adds to it and makes it better! So glad that someone agrees XD

  • @o0oyumeo0o JALIEGAHWLEGHEL <- My hatred towards the american voices. I loathe dubbed haha they just don't fit the charicters, JAPANESE VOICES ALL THE WAY!!!!! XD

  • @o0oyumeo0o YESXD! You know of it 2? That is so cool. I only began reading within the past year or two, but im completly addicted*looks shyly tward feet* It's good to see the manga/anime gaining poularity. With all the disasters going on over there i hope everyones buisnesses will be okay8( PS...sory for da late reply, i don't check these things as often as i should:/

  • @xxSoulsinDarknessxx i dont just know of it, i love it XD

good! youre READING it! :D you dont know how happy it makes me. i got a few friends into it, but they just watch the anime (which is also fantastic <3 but you miss a lot)

& i was a fan since it was a young'n series too! its incredible how something isnt heard of & then BAM! its popular! but it makes me a bit irritated too (maybe thats bad of me...)

i know... poor japan. i hope things get better for them. its seems to only get worse

  • @iloveevanescence1795 i knew that a long time ago :)

  • @iloveevanescence1795 don't really care. I'm not a christian but I still like them.

  • @mikapikaxxx .........Okay...? And why was this comment necessary?

  • @iloveevanescence1795 You just seem extremely excited about the fact that they're Christian. Just wanted to tell you I don't really give a damn if they're Christian or not..

  • @mikapikaxxx Well i wasnt talking to you...i was saying who knows they are, not who cares.

  • @iloveevanescence1795 This is youtube. By posting a comment you're pretty much adressing everyone.. xd

I just don't see why it's so special that you know they're christian. It's like if I said:

WHO HERE KNOWS THAT TRADING YESTERDAY'S GUITAR PLAYER IS BLOND? :D i do XD

(not sure if this is actually correct haha, but you get my point.xd)

  • Comment removed

  • shattered is still the best song they've made but i really love ALL songs by trading yesterday :) they're awsome

  • I SO AGREE. This is the second best for me, right after Shattered. :]

  • Shattered is definately the best. its such a powerful song, i love it :)

  • sie sind so toll :*

  • 3 months ago, no one knew this band and now everyones addicted to it- just because of twilight and so on. I really can understand the hype around them, but I hope they won't forget their first fans. Guys like you and me. I have been loving this band since the first moment.

Trading Yesterday? We love you. Stay faithful to yourself!

  • I don't watch Twilight. My friend used to watch it, and I considered giving it a chance, but I don't really like how everyone's all crazy about it. I just listen to TY because their songs are so beautifully written.

  • True. Their lyrics are simplify beautiful.

  • Me and my cousin are going to cover this song in church this X-mas. *is excited* Beautiful song!!

  • Good choice too, I would like to introduce it in our church but don't know where to get the piano music. Do you have any ideas?

    Cedge

  • I know how to play it on piano but I learned that by ear. It sounds pretty good to me, though.

(I have to play it in a lower key because otherwise I can't reach the higher notes..:P But I can play it..roughly. So far, I've only found sheets of "For you only", not "world on fire")

  • OK Thanks anyway, your obviously more talented than me to be able to do that. I have tried asking TY directly but they haven't replied

  • Oh, I don't know about that. I taught myself..maybe I taught myself wrong. :P

Asking them directly? Though MySpace or so?

  • You should upload it on here! It would be so cool to see your cover!

  • Thank you, but I'm not sure. We'll see how awful I sound. :P I haven't completely figured out the chorus.. I'm kinda stuck there when it comes to keyboard. :(

  • I love this song so much!

why have they changed their name?

  • C'est vraiment Génial!!!

  • i love the Song <3

  • Wait is Trading yesterday a Christian band?

  • That's crazy, Skillet and Red are my two other favorite bands also

  • best freaking song ever !!!! i'm in love with this , i was like o.o when i first heard it, and it gives me goose bumps, cuz it's so good !!!!! GOSH I LUV YOU GUYS !

  • Best band ever<3 So sad they chaged their

name, but i love this song!

  • Wait. they changed their name? to what?

  • age of information

  • besser geht es fast schon nicht mehr !!!!!

  • I wish they can play ALL these songs in the radio...I have never heard about Trading Yesterday until a few weeks ago...How come I've never heard of them all these years..?I love these songs...They're beautiful..!Could someone give me some information about these guys!!??Please send me any messages!! It's like these songs were extinct as if no one has ever heard of them...I've noticed they were talking about God...I'm very spiritual and young at heart, and very talented by mind...So spiritual...

  • The band died 2 years ago.

  • they didn't die. they changed their name and genre. they're now the Age of Information

  • The band just chaged the name.

  • I was so excited to find out that they were a christian band it was just something in their voice and the power I felt when they sang just like Skillet, and Red it's something that secular music just can't hit. Spiritual. I just love you God ^^

  • Yay for Skillet and Red!! And Trading Yesterday, too XD

  • @MicMic18 I know what you mean there's some sort of sound to them all :) ... though I myself am not religious I really love those bands ^_^

  • @nessianbby I'm glad ^^ have you checked out Thousand Foot Krutch they rock. But it's not so much about religion when you are a Christian I hate religion and Jesus didn't like it either. What he liked was the relationship with a loving real God.

But I'm open to all kinds of music too specially K-POP ^.^

  • @MicMic18 Thousand Foot Krutch is awesome! *huggles you* I have heard of J-pop....what is K-pop?

  • @animiechick16 *huggies too* K-Pop is Korean Pop its awasome. Check out Girls Generation, Big Bang, Shinee, Tae Yang, G-Dragon ^^ eek G-Dragon is so cute!!

  • @MicMic18 me too! :D i thought they were, when in shattered they sang "and his love will conquer". <3

  • @Cosprints me too!

  • well i loved them already, but my respect for them has gone up like a million percent. it takes guts to produce religious music sometimes. it usually gets a lot of negitave responses. but i applaud them!

    <3 brillant music, as always

  • Bedeutungsvolles Meisterwerk...

    Meaningful Masterpiece...

    Karya Agung Bermakna...

  • This band is great! It's amazing how some bands who aren't even that great are really famous and yet the one's that are awesome aren't that famous. :[

  • i figured they were christian. so much of their music could be taken in two ways - love (like a relationship) or the love of God. This one makes it very clear.

They're still a very awesome band, even tho Trading Yesterday is technically a dead band =( this music is better than their Age of information stuff i think

  • why does itunes not have them?!?! i know they changed to the age of information, but surely trading yesterdays music should still be there anyway?!!?

    grrrrr

  • I like BytheTree version better but its a good song.

  • wow i found this band from a fanvid and i started listen to a couple songs and wow!!! they are amazing, i was wondering if they were christian and then i heard this song and i was stunned!! i love this band so much!!! they are now one of my all time favourites!

  • haha, the EXACT same thing happened to me; some fanvid to "Shattered", a little research on them and now I know their whole story. they're awesome (:

  • Same here too:)

    hahaha

i was amazinlgy suprised when i found out that they are a christian band!

    amazing

  • OMG they are amazing, every song ive listened to is awsome :D

  • mhmm :) have you heard Shattered?

  • Yeah, that one is good at the end lol

  • Im not christian, but I still think they sound awesome ^.^

  • They're christian? WOW they are AMAZING!!

  • I figured they were a Christian band...that only makes me like them more ^_^

  • ahhh <3 i love all of Trading Yesterday's songs ((:

  • It may sound stupid to some people for someone to say that a song changed their life, and heart. Well, for those people, they obviously haven't heard Trading Yesterday/David Hodges! I will say that their music changed my life.

  • The music is just a tool to change ur life... God change ur life

  • They are amazing!

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song.

    <3

  • wow i love this song i adore it !! xxxx
