  • never heard a bad version of this song but its like popping out to the ritz for breakfast utter perfection

  • When I forwarded the scenes in the movie "Always" I suddenly stopped in the scene where this song was played by the guy using the keyboards. The best scene. Even if I haven't watched the movie yet, I never get tired of watching that scene. Too sweet! Everything was perfect.

  • @geanie03 The movie wasn't rated very good, but I thought it was great!! You are so right, this is a wonderful scene from the movie...thank you for commenting.

  • This is probably the FINEST cover ever done of this lovely tune, surpassing even the Platters.

  • @Mjollnir50 It indeed would be hard to choose which one I favor, they are both wonderful renditions...thank you for your reply.

  • @ejdav...yes indeed, but this scene in the film Always was what made it a movie...for me.

  • @ejdav I figured it would have back ground noise . That's a same. Sure would like to have this version. Thanks for posting it.

  • @TSCRASH If you could give me some type of email address I can send you an mp3 copy of it.

  • does the movie soundtrack have this same version?

  • @TSCRASH I'm sure it would.

  • You are very welcome...Thank you for the reply.

  • I loved that scene in "Always." In fact, I loved "Always" (a remake of the 1943 movie "A Guy Named Joe"). The "Always" cast just seemed to work for me, even though no individual member was a particularly favorite actor. Anyway, it was Audrey Hepburn's last film -- earning it a place in film history no matter what. :-) Thanks for posting this!

  • Thank you for commenting.

  • true what drug was he on

  • I agree...Thank you for replying.

  • J . D 's version is perfext. A kind of 80's pop style plus slow Jazz.....

    As good as the original

  • Too slow for me, but a great vocal.

  • @GrinchandMax ...I've never heard a fast version of this song...thanks for commenting.

  • the platters was the original{i think} this recording send shivers down my spine! great post

  • Yes, the Platters were the original hit, but this version rivals them...Thank you for the comment. So happy you enjoyed.

  • "always" is the best love story directed by Spielberg. and the the scene wer JD Souther singing his version oh men, its a no contest for the copycat movie ghost, tenks for the upload.

  • J D's version is one of the best...thanks for the reply.

  • I see that I am not alone to think that the movie Always is a favorit and that the this beautiful song is best performed by J.D.Souther (Sorry Platters even that you also performed is very well)

  • It would be hard for me to choose which I think is best, they are both so good...thank you for the reply.

  • "Always" is one of my all-time favorite movies, and this version of the song is my favorite by far. Thank you for putting it here for us to enjoy.

P.S. If you have MySpace, JD Souther has a page. He's a great singer and we need to support him.

  • I agree, and I will check it out...Thank you for the comment.

  • HI ejdav, I'm here again. Just love listening and reading all the posts. It's fun to look at some of the other vids with JDs pics. also. Which he'd come to Florida sometime. It's so difficult for me to get away from my job and all of my animals (rescue work) I'd love to see him perform in person. However, my animals are like little babies, need a lot of care, some need meds that only I can administer correctly. This is why you and YOUTUBE are so important, helping more than u know.

  • Thank you for the kind words...but it is people like you who should be thanked for the work you are doing. Keep up the good work!!...and thank you for commenting.

  • Very enjoyable listening to J D Souther singing one of my favorites. Not a song I would have expected to hear from him, but he sounds terrific doing this standard. Thank you.

  • He did a great job on it...Thank you for commenting.

  • I love this song, ALWAYS

  • So glad you enjoyed it...Thanks for commenting.

  • Thanx ejdav...

meanwhle...I'll just keep listening to it here... LOL

  • I love it too, thanx for the post but I just gotta ask...

is this really JD??? I mean it does sound like him...is it from a CD? Where can I get it?

  • Yes, it is JD, just check the end credits of the movie. To be perfectly honest...and I'm a little embarrassed to say this, but I don't recall where I got this song without the movies back ground sounds. I do have it on CD, but it's a CD that I made. If I can figure out where I got it, I will post the info here. Thanks for commenting.

  • @saharra22469 If you would like to give me an email address I can send you an mp3 copy.

  • This reminds me of the dancing scene of that wonderful movie. Truly one of the best love songs ever made. Thanks for posting it. Linda
