One of the things that sets Eluveitie apart from the rest of "folk metal" is that they "do it right" with every aspect of their music. No other band employs proper technique with the "folk" elements of the music. Ornamentation is key.

Anyone can pick up a violin and play a "litling" tune, but that doesn't make it fiddle music. Anyone can play a bad melody- on a keyboard with an accordion patch- against heavy guitars and call it "folk metal.

IMO, Eluveitie is the ONLY true folk metal band.

There's a fine line between sincerity and gimmickry. "Folk metal" needs to be a marriage between its defining elements, not a form of metal modified by coincidental "folk" parts.
