  • damn.. diesel healthy sound.. except for the valve adj. that clickin is pretty loud.

  • Emissions? You have to do emissions for this car? Obviously state laws are different, but I find it surprising that this car would have to test. If I ever had to test my 240D, the tester wouldn't have been able to see his hand! (unknown mileage, of course).

  • @CBeninWI All diesels in Colorado must have an annual opacity test.

  • Doesn't sound like he revved to very high rpm. HP would be higher if he let it go to redline. Sounds like he barely did 3000 rpm, if that. With that tq reading your HP should be much higher. Have you taken it to a "real dyno" since your most recent mods were made?

  • No. With the engine knock I don't want to risk another dyno session. He only revved it to 4000rpm.

  • thats quite a difference in power!

U do get optimistic dynos evidently.

My non turbo diesel is like a barometre, atmospheric pressure really makes a huge difference.

  • do you need parts i have tow 617 diesel turbo one with a knock and another with a bad turbo

  • what boost pressure are you running?

  • 14psi

  • Interesting difference in numbers! Weird.

Pretty good for an OM617 if they're right.

Almost sounded like some bad valvetrain noise? Or was that just the IP or something?

  • The engine has a knock from a failing piston pin, its been doing it for 5 years.

  • Correction, 6 years.

  • cool Im in longmont Colorado 2 building a w116 300sd
