Cultures around the world for thousands of years have memorialized their dead loved ones by incorporating bits of their skeletons in buildings. There are also belief systems in which encorporating bone of sacrificed or enemy victims into building brings status in some way or another.
When I die, perhaps I'd like someone to think carefuly about where to put my hands and my feet!
Are they all half skulls and half pelvises, or are there complete ones as well?
