The stagename for J.D. Fortune came from J.D. Salinger and the stagename Flame Fortune for the wannabe singer Michael Hutchence was trying to promote in the '80s. I named the band Paramore for the Paramour Mansion recording studios after I wrote Decode and hearing the Farris Bros of INXS talking about holding the RockStar show there when Hutch decided to bail on the band. I came up with the stagename P!nk for Bob Geldof in The Wall. I started writing songs for INXS in '83
