  • They still freakin rock!!!

  • cool song !!!!!!

  • i went to see them yesterday in london THEY WERE AMAAZZINGGGG SANG SANG THIS AND I DIED, this is actually my ghost typing

  • Wowww Kurt Cobain :p

    hahaha

I always imagine Jon Foreman as a Nirvana vocalist. No offense.

  • Switchfoot is amazing and one of my favorite bands!!!

  • Is he not a good singer live or something?? Just doesn't sound that good compared to studio.

  • @Nkieffer000 i agree

  • @Nkieffer000 he's gotten a lot better, this is kind of old. honestly, now he sings live better than he does in the studio. there's something about his live singing that's just incredible.

  • @Nkieffer000 Hardly anybody does anymore. This guy's pretty decent for the amount of production Switchfoot gets.

  • someone turn his microphone up

  • Anyone notice that Jon's guitar always matches his newest Album?

  • Love this song! Its awesome!!!!! :D

  • Just the intro alone captures me; motherfucking life-changing, epic song. LOVE THEM.

  • @TheFridayskies yea I loved them!

  • Christians, ftw

  • his face n his hair remind me of kurt

  • You know a song is good when it makes you shiver a little.

  • @TheFridayskies That wus meh buddy he dont have any taste in music, i personally like switchfoot.

  • @TheFridayskies did you see them at Alive music festival in ohio because i was there too and now i love switchfoot so much more than I use to

  • i dont care what anyone says these guys are HORRIBLE live. on the album i thought it was alright then i look it up live and my ears strart bleeding :D

  • @XzaccYXguitarXplayer maybe Ke$ha is more up your alley, maybe some auto-tuned stuff

  • Jon looks like an older Kurt Cobain.

  • buenisimo el grupo genios totales.....

  • switchfoot melhor banda conserteza!!toca de++++

  • I liked the part where the band had musical talent and sang about stuff that they felt in their heart, not their wallet.

  • @7poppasmurf7 you're an idiot

  • @sirdanmcman reply to a 3 month old post? tell someone who gives a fuck.

  • @7poppasmurf7 You know I'm really really really hoping that you were NOT referring to Switchfoot with that comment. Otherwise that is the most incorrect, ignorant, moronic statement I've ever heard. But perhaps you meant it, the other way around. Or maybe you're actually referring to the record company they were once signed to.

  • @Dman761 What's the situation where it would be "the other way around"? I mean that switchfoot, from what I've heard, and I've heard almost all of there albums, have heart to their songs. I understand that they are signed to a record label, and they make money through their music, but they do not make music to make money (possibly to some extent, but that's not the main reason). I like it that they put a piece of themselves in every song they make, and don't churn them out because it's a job

  • @7poppasmurf7 I apologize I misunderstood your comment. I read it as, you liked it when they use to have musical talent and sing about stuff that they felt in their heart, not their wallet. The way you worded it confused me :P

  • この歌好きだな。すごく彼ららしい。Great!!!

  • the singer's hairdo and look reminds me of someone famous in the 90s singing rape me

  • @fattirevsbud u do mean kurt cobain from nirvana right?

  • @TumTum3000 lol yeah

  • @fattirevsbud Kurt!

  • @fattirevsbud And the song reminds me of that drummer from the 90's who started a band, I swear, the opening riff is almost identical to Live-In Skin.

  • Great band, Great song, Great vocals, Bad snare! :(

  • Bruce Willis can SING!!! :D

  • @everycountryismine hahahahahaha i thought that was him at first lol

  • switchfoot is amazing but i have to say that the drum kit sounds awful haha

  • 3:22 BEST PART :D LOL!

  • Dude I love this song it's so beast

  • they sound like shit in this video, its an AWESOME song and i love it but here they sound like shit.

  • @Randomshit1353 What are you saying? They sound awesome in my opinion, so rough and grungy, like Nirvana, a little bit. It's the quality that's a bit bad, but I really thank the uploader for sharing the vid. I think that Switchfoot just can't sound like shit, even if they try to... they're too good as a live band, you know. So why do you think they sound like shit?? is it Jon's singing, or their playing? Cuz I think the performance is unique and amazing...

  • @butterflypiano the singing here sucks *barfs*

  • @butterflypiano OK well it doesn't SUCK but its not as good as this

*cant past link* DAMMIT just click the second video down on the right.

where it says posted by "switch foot vevo"

  • @Randomshit1353 Yeah, your version is way better.

  • Okay so he looks like Cobain in this ONE performance. geez

  • the sound doesn't do the band justice

  • Good

  • Jon looks like kurt cobain. :) i love switchfoot they kick ass

  • You knowww, the singer reminds me of Jon Foreman.

  • @clarkston4eva123 as ifff mate.....he looks NOTHING like Jon.

  • @MrSchulta then why does everyone keep saying "jon looks like cobain'..?

  • @clarkston4eva123 its probably because of his stage presence

  • @clarkston4eva123 bahaha i was being sarcastic cos you said he looks like JON FOREMAN. try remembering your own comments in the future mate

  • @MrSchulta LOL i know what i said... i was messing with you.

  • the singer reminds me of kurt cobain xD

  • mhhh.....not bad

  • This is my favorita music maybe i' ve been the problem but were I look at the stars I fell like miself yeah!!!!!

  • the intro/song feels very foo fighters to me

  • @enthnd03 ....like their song Live-In Skin

  • Wow, they have a GREAT live sound! He has that kind of voice where he could sing something in the studio and nail it on the first take. I don't know much about Switchfoot, but i've heard them throughout my life.

  • best album:)

  • Hey I love Switchfoot!!!

Check out my page - I do tons of Switchfoot tutorials and covers, including Stars!!!

    ~Kenneth

  • That...is...the. WORST mix I've heard from them. 'Course, it's most likely the network, but wow...bad.

  • i wonder what they sounded like before 1997 before they started and did concerts and strain their voices they must've been awsome

  • ohmygod. they're the best in Live! every live version is better than the studio version! and jon! his lyrics is a prodigy!!

  • @elijahocampo that really isnt true. Both versions have something to offer.... Their studio version are much more full, and their live version miss a lot of that "switchfoot" sound.. They need to be careful of overproducing... balance the live and studio out..Solid Band.

  • Comment removed

  • don't think I am one of those haters... I love switchfoot, they are my favorite band but I don't know if it is me or their mixing is a little off, I don't know but it just sounds a little unusual

  • TERRIBLE MIX

  • I love switchfoot and this song, however I must shake my head at whoever mixed this performance..

  • This is such an amazing performance and I love the song! I feel so bad that I lost touch with their music for a while, but my friend showed me their album "Oh! Gravity" and I was like "THEY"RE ALIVE!!!!!!!!" (of course they're still alive, i know it's just I naively thought that they had broken up after Beautiful Letdown)

  • @xxPencilOnPaperxx

Have you heard there new album hello hurricane. If not you need to listen to it.

  • i love Switchfoot :)

  • My friend's cousin is their rythm guitarist.

  • which one is that? jerome or drew?

  • serious man??

    thats sweet

  • i wish i could see this guys live!!!!

  • seen em 3 times.. everytime it was diff and amazing in a diff way

  • when the lead singer screams it makes me sooo happy :O

  • i liked this sone a lot but i still like dare you to move more

  • this is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo kool!! i love jonathan foreman. really rockin!!!

  • this is a very good live performance

  • i gotta say that switchfoot was better as a 4 piece and the beautiful letdown and nothing is sound are there best albums. im not saying there new albums arent good but there older ones were better

  • nothing is sound IS one of their new albums and they were a 5 piece then too

  • theyve been a 5 piece since a beautiful letdown. drew didnt become an official member until nothing is sound was released.

  • excelente!!!

  • effects pedal i wonder which 1 drew uses he uses the warp kinda sound forget the name tho, i have it but i don't really use it

  • He's using a fuzz distortion and chorus during the verses, and fuzz/flange during the bridge

  • At 1:11 he kinda looked like Kurt Cobain.

  • @Lupin446 Maybe he IS Kurt Cobain. :D

  • yeah your right.

  • can someone tell me y there r 3 gutarist

  • @pittpirates79 why the hell not?

  • to get the "switchfoot" sound :)

  • cuz Jon plays guitar, Drew plays guitar, Tim plays bass, and in this song, Jerome plays 3rd guitar

  • jerome can play like...every instrument ever made...and he does the synthesizer

  • is jerome the filipino?

  • yeah..

  • if you don't know, one of the guitarist plays the synth

  • Jon reminds me so much of Kurt Cobain when he performs...

  • @FallingSlowlyOnce Oh man. Couldn't you have at least said Eddie Vedder? Ugh. I very much dislike Kurt Cobain. I think JF has a world of tallend, and a very good voice. Cobain was just in the right place at the right time. He rode the Mother Love Bone and Soundgarden wave. Sorry to spout off like that, I just could never stand Cobain.

  • @njcowboy78 Really? The Mother Love Bone and Soundgarden wave? I never even heard of those bands when smells like teen spirit came out as a single.

  • @ryank289 Soundgarden was the leader in the Seattle music scene. And MLB was about to break it big, when their singer (Andrew Wood) died. It wasn't until Soundgarden signed a Major label deal that Geffin Records even took notice in Nirvana. Peal Jam has FAR outsold ANY of those bands, and Nirvana proved to be nothing more than a fizzle in the pan. Sorry to cause waves of contention, but I just cant stand Cobain, as I stated previously.

  • @njcowboy78 Musically I really liked Cobain. But he did come off being very obnoxious in interviews and I found that to be very annoying. Anyways, I stand corrected on the Soundgarden paving the way for Nirvana thing.

  • @njcowboy78 you're correct about Soundgarden n MLB, who were amazing n would've done great things if Wood didn't die. Actually, the Band Temple of the Dog was a homage to him, even getting their name from one line in his lyrics. Pearl Jam was ultimately top dog but don't forget STP...completely discredited for being another Seattle copycat band when they were actually from Cali n had no idea about the Seattle scene.Nirvana didn't deserve nearly as much credit but they were great too.

  • @nickynice711 I totally agree with you on STP. The DeLeo brothers (guitar and bass) were actually from new Jersey, no 20 minutes from where I was born. I always seem to feel some musical connection to any of my Jersey brothers. Except those damn Jonas boys. Holy hell, I wish they were from somewhere else.

  • haha i think that too!!!

  • @FallingSlowlyOnce its just that switchfoot plays for God, and kurt cobain, cant really say the same, can we?

  • @FallingSlowlyOnce not only does he remind me of Kurt, check out a guy named Jessy Ribordy... he was the front man for FallingUP and now is with River's Empire...

  • @FallingSlowlyOnce without the drugs though lmao

  • there's a filipino in this band?wow

  • really?whats his name

  • He's singin WAY to low....

  • agree...

    i wonder why?

  • hmm. I can't seem to find a switchfoot song that I don't like! =)

  • Shitty mixer I have to say.

  • It's been Jon, Tim, Chad, Jerome and Drew since Nothing is Sound, Oh! Gravity and now Hello Hurricane.

  • It was originally Jon, Tim and Chad for their first album "The Legend of Chin," and "New Way to be Human," than Jerome (the filipino dude) joined the band on the third album "Learning to Breathe" as a tour member, and was an official member on their 4th album "The Beautiful Letdown." At this time, Drew joined as a touring member, since he was in another band called "All Together Separate." The 5th album, "Nothing is Sound," Drew became an official member since "All Together Separate" broke up.

  • yeah

  • Alright, here's what's up: The bass player (Tim Foreman) has been there since the beginning. The "filipino dude" (Jerome Fontimillius ((or whatever)) ) Is there, but like r1c38o1 said they just don't focus on him. Aaaaand Jon, Chad, and Drew are there of course. Alright just a little heads up :)

    good video btw...

  • What happen to the filipino dude?? Did he left the band???

  • lol he's there.

they just don't focus on him

  • But he usually plays the bass, who's the new guy playing the bass?

  • he's not new, he's been with them for a while.

but jerome has always played keys/guitar?

i dunno, correct me if i'm wrong. but as long as i've known, the pinoy has been playing those instruments

  • Whoo! This is probably one of my all time favourite Christian bands every, and this is by far there best song! I just love how this song sounds, and it always feel so happy inside and proud to be a Christian and happy to follow and worship God. Thanks for uploading this! (^w^)

  • k.m...mahal na mahal kitaaah!!!

  • Shadong maganda!!!!!!!

  • dude this guy has totally been experienced

  • I do think that 3 guitars is a little overkill, they totally overule the drums, but still a great live performance!

  • HEY!! I LOVE switchfoot! CHECK OUT MY MUSIC!!! I have a video up and a link to my myspace!!!

    Johnny V

  • did anyone notice the guitar here? its great! this band is one of the greatest!

  • I'm Cool!

  • you are SO cool!1111!!!

  • So Cool!!!

  • What I like about switchfoot is that even though jon isn't the greatest singer or anything like that, the guy loves music and you can tell on his songs and performance. I Love switchfoot.

  • I love how diverse their music is, John seems to get influence from all over. This starts off sounding very Foo Fighters. (Also a favourite band of, speaking of Cobain)... He has an accoustic session where he does Meant To Live and even sounds a bit like Cobain. However I feel that John is an amazing songwriter singer in is own right just influenced by amazing other artists. :)

  • they are verry much influenced by nirvana, listen to there first album thats where u can really hear it. also chad names dave grohl as his biggest influence as a drummer.

  • AMAZING

  • from my hometown guys, seen them 3 times

  • ya he does resemble Kurt Cobain with the hair and all... but a total different attitude.

    lol
