i am proud of my husband and all of the men and women who serve. he is getting ready to deploy in nov. i worry about him every day but i get my strength from seeing how proud he is serving his country and knowing he loves me and his family. we are the reason he is serving. we are the reason he wakes up everyday pulls his boots on to face a world full of danger in hopes of making it even just a little bit safer for all of us; his friends, his family, and for the children we hope to have some day

My deepest heartfelt sorrow and love goes to you. My oldest son leaves for Iraq Oct 20th and I am just so upset. I can't do anything but just cry. I just can stop this... He is my baby... Married with no children. but he is mine. I hate this.I can't control this.I can't stop this.... OMG....  The nights are getting worse and the day well I can't wait to drink. I know everyone has to do this but OMG he is my son... I feel like he is gone or ready. What will happen. God bless them all.

My daughter served 14 months in Iraq and will go to Afghanistan next year. I support her in her choice of careers and am very proud of her. You should be proud of what your son has chosen to do. Instead, you sound like the people who seem to believe "anyone else's child but mine." Don't make it harder on your son by acting like he should not be going. Most of the soldiers I have spoken to are proud of their service. Make your son proud-support him and pray for his safety.
