Interesting story. U should have pulled out ur phone and took pictures of her or tell her to jump in the picture while she was clicking away. I felt that way in Korea when I saw foreigners too. U became interested in getting to know them or acknowledging them. U get a sense of what foreigners feel like when they come to the US and see people of their native country.
So many of the comments I read online are from those negative foreigners in Korea. There are even two girls in my ESL class who taught there and are really negative whenever I tell them I'm excited about going to Korea this summer.
Those comments can get overwhelming and depressing. Just thought I'd tell you that anytime I read those comments, I come and watch some of your vids right after and they cheer me up a lot. Reminds me there are good foreigners in Korea, too! Thanks so much, Charly!

I had the same experience while backpacking through Europe. Especially in Eastern Europe, whenever I ran into other non-Europeans we would automatically strike up a conversation. I met some really cool people that way.
I bet having a conversation with you is awesome. Funny! Always full of laughter! It's kinda funny that you stay in Seoul and you're black because when you say it, you think of the word, "soul". Black people have "Soul" KKKK!
Dude...you need to come here to the Andong region. Here in Yecheon specifically there are at least 10 of us (foreigners). 3 from TaLK, 5 from EPIK, and the rest from a different programme. That food catcher for your sink is called a 싱크대거름망 in Korean (for next time you need to buy some). Also there is a Tex-Mex grill in Daegu. I haven't been inside yet but it could be worth a shot to try the food.
@charlycheer I'm making MYSELF crave it lol and I haven't had a taco since 3 years ago. I'm enjoying korean food and it's only been over a month since I got here but I'm already craving some stuff I used to it T-T lol

Some foreigners are diplomats, and are in Korea for their own reasons the ones who aren't friendly probably wouldn't have been friendly back in the States or wherever they are from.
Can you explain the school system there? Like does university = high school or college for them? Is it, preschool, kindergarten, grade school, middle, high, then university like in America?

I reminded of the time I was on a bus in Heidelberg, GM, and a young man who'd grown up in East Germany was staring at me. Like you, I understood, because I'm sure you don't see African Americans in East Germany everday (especially at that time). He was staring at my fingers, and said "You have fingers like a piano player." It was funny.
