Anyway, Revelation 3:7And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
@ele12957returns Jesus coming to seek and save the lost, think on this verse for a while and let it sink in. He SEEKS & SAVES the lost. It doesn't say He seeks OR saves, or He seeks and TRIES TO save, NO, it says SEEKS AND SAVES, He saves all those that He seeks and He seeks all the lost, this is all the lost sheep. If you try to claim that Jesus seeks every in the entire world then you have made this verse teach universalism. Now there is NO contradiction with Jn.6:44.
@ele12957returns Ed,if you only knew and understood God's attributes and man's limitations,90% of the Bible questions you ask would already be answered.
@ele12957returns Being dead to sin doesn't mean one will never sin again,it means sin can't condemn us anymore,in the same way being dead IN SIN means without Jesus there's no hope for us and sin will keep us from Christ. So only God Himself can regenerate and save us.
@ele12957returns Do you believe that Jonah could have ever been able to NOT GO to Nineveh? How about Paul,do you think that he could have successfully thwarted God;s will and not do all that Jesus declared he would do for the rest of his life?Did it sound like Jesus was giving him a choice or a command?Do you understand that Jesus wasn't just looking in His crystal ball looking into Paul's future,Jesus was telling Paul the future that He had decreed for him.
@CBALLEN Did you know that God's decreed will has been in effect since before time?Did you know that if it were God's will, that we would all be sinless today? Are you aware that God can stop all sin when ever He wants? Are you aware that God knew both groups, the sheep and goats before time and that God created the goats even knowing they wouldn't be saved?
@ele12957returns Why did Abraham leave his country, his family and his gods? Do you believe he could have told God to get lost?Do you believe Lazarus could have refused to be ressurected or come forth?
@ele129 I've come to realize something since I've been discussing the Bible with you.It appears that you look at every event in the Bible as some isolated occurrence,in other words The Lord saves people one way with this person, but it doesn't apply to all people. Abraham for instance, all people are saved by Christ whether in the OT OR NT ,Paul wrote none are righteous,no not one,yet you claim Abraham was righteous in himself,Abraham believed the promises of God because God caused his belief.
@CBALLEN The whole world went out after Jesus, did you know that?China,Mexico, north America,Europe all showed up in Jerusalem to follow Jesus. And love of money caused Adam to give up the garden before Adam ever knew that you could buy things with it,imagine that? You don't believe that ALL the Father gives to Jesus will come to Him do you?You do understand when Jesus says COME TO ME it means believe in Him right?Since all the Father gives Jesus believe in Him,it also means those not given won't.
@ele12957returns Salvation cannot be likened to people drowning and someone throwing a rope to them, they are already dead and Jesus has to quicken them to life and lasso them,do you understand what the word DRAW MEANS,OR what Compel means, how about DEAD?Ive already told you what the Bible says, that we are saved in very very same way Lazarus was Resurrected by Jesus,He first made him alive by calling his name and then he told him to come forth, that's the perfect picture of salvation.
@ele12957returns "did not Jesus say if He is lifted up He will draw ALL men?" Where are the women and children? It does say MEN only, right? LOL This means ALL kinds of peoples out of every tongue, kindred, and nation, Jesus is teaching it is not for the JEW's only.
@ele12957returns Not at all, even though I went to an ARMINIAN Church,I KNEW THAT SALVATION WAS 100% of God,I mean God saved me in a motel without anyone around, but God opened my eyes to the fact that not everyone could be saved.
The question that you'll have to ask yourself is,"can I believe in the God of the Calvinists?' and if the answer is no,then guess what? You will be confirming you were never of God.
@ele12957returns John 6:44 still refutes your argument about everyone being able to come.If you also notice, the same Him who is DRAWN,is the SAME HIM raised to Glory,so God drawing a person to Jesus insures they come and are saved and kept.
@CBALLEN WRONG,they left because Jesus was telling them that SALVATION was in God's hands,NOT THEIRS.They weren't ever drawn or saved that's why they left and Jesus even confirms it.1John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.
@ele12957returns I only wish that we were in your church debating right now,it's easy to spout a bunch of unbiblical non-sense and claim victory on youtube, but it's a lot harder when live people are sitting in the audience listening and then they get to ask question afterwards, any reformed person with a Bible would make you laughable before a crowd of Christians.
@ele12957returns You ignore every verse that proves you wrong,John 6:44 totally busted you,so I guess you'll just go on as if nothing ever happened huh?
@ele12957returns" how have I proved that I hate God when I am honor His word and have shown that ur views are not consistent with what God has said?"
By worshiping a false Jesus, there is no difference in the Mormon Jesus, the JWs Jesus or your Jesus, all 3 don't exist and are man made idols that are named Jesus. You don't honor His word, you remove His omnipotent attribute with your doctrine, you deny that He foreknew (foreloved)every individual that He would save before time. You deny His WORD.
@ele12957returns Ed,there is no way humanly possible that a person can make you understand God's word without the Holy Spirit teaching and leading you into all truth. You ignore what scripture says,in context, and you try to make the Bible contradict itself by your doctrine. The Bible does not contradict itself,if it seems to,then you aren't understanding,it's not the Bibles fault,it's you traditions and lack of the Holy Spirit that's at fault.
@ele12957returns You are impossible, lol God was giving Paul the words to write silly,God Himself says NO ONE SEEKS HIM,HE DOES THE SEEKING AND SAVING,NOT US.Now why do you believe that God is ignorant of His elect, how come you don't believe that God knew His elect before time when Eph.1 and Romans 8 says He most certainly did?
@ele12957returns The Holy Spirit has always existed and has always regenerated men.God used the Holy Spirit in a brand new way in the New Testament,God the Holy Spirit caused people to hear other Languages in their own tongue, the Holy Spirit killed liars to strike fear into the people, the Holy Spirit appeared as tongues of fire over the disciples, ect.
Since you believe that God gives everyone an equal amount of Grace to believe, then how come you chose Jesus when so many others don't?How are you MORE SPECIAL? Are you smarter, more spiritually, better looking, nicer,What is it?Tell me how you improved on God's Grace in your situation.
@ele12957returns Romans 3: 9 What then? Are we Jews [1] any better off? [2] No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, 10 as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
Here is why I believe no one seeks God,because God's word says that no one seeks God,I didn't pull it out of a hat.
@CBALLEN Since no one seeks God then how do people become saved, you may ask,it's through the power of the Gospel being preached,God quickens His elect to life through it and they believe, only then will they spend the rest of their Life seeking a deeper relationship with God,the unregenerate man is UNABLE AND UNWILLING TO DO THIS.You give MAN way too much credit and rob God of His Glory in the process.
@ele12957returns “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Is it only the elect who labor and are heavy laden? "
Remember, even though everyone is heavy laden with sin, just as Jesus said,it's only THE SHEEP who come when He calls.
@ele12957returns I don't make the assumption,I know goats don't become sheep, sheep are either unregenerate or regenerate, goats are ALL UNREGENERATE.You are proving that you hate how God has chosen to save,it's foolishness to you because the human mind is NOT like God's mind,if God ever opens your eyes you will both know and believe what He;s saying. It amazes me when a"Christian" denies that God has known His own elect before time began,do you believe God knows everything, all the time?
@ele12957returns Right,no one is willing ,no not one, everyone is a rebel who hates God in the natural,we are all born spiritually dead because of ADAM.If God didn't quicken His children to life EVERYBODY WOULD GO TO HELL.
@ele12957returns When Jesus commanded anything,it was only HIS SHEEP that followed His voice, never the goats.John 10:26"But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep.27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;28and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.29"My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
@ele12957returns God seems to differentiate between the wicked and sinners,The Bible calls some people children of the devil, but He never says that the elect were children of the Devil,it says we followed their ways.
@ele12957returns Do you believe God is going to be unhappy through out eternity because of all the people in Hell or do you believe that God looks at Hell as a prison for rebels? Why did God create the wicked as the wicked for the day of evil?
@ele12957returns Jesus knew that many false Christs would come, that impostors would come to draw the church away and claim they were Christ. After Jesus left for Heaven and Christianity was NEW, no one knew exactly what to expect, especially when a rumor started that Jesus had already come again and many had missed it.Paul had to write letters to disciple God's people, because up until that point all they knew is Jesus was God's Son and forgave their sin.
@ele12957returns There will not be one person in Hell that had their sins paid for by Jesus,Jesus doesn't make people just savable,He actually saved people 100%,Jesus came for one reason,to save HIS PEOPLE.
@ele12957returns Look, there's not one person who Jesus died for that will end up in Hell, and there will not be one person in Hell that doesn't deserve it,God's will will be done, period.
@ele12957returns . "Jesus would have no right to rebuke people for being "faithless" if faith was given at Gods discretion."
More Judgments of God,good going,I'm sure you'll have to tell Jesus what you think He can and can't do when you meet Him face to Face.Be sure to tell Him why you are in Heaven too, because You said yes when you could have said no,I'm sure that will really impress Him.
@ele12957returns Well, then if God chose for ALL MEN to be saved and all men are predestined and called and justified, they ALL WILL be Glorified in Heaven, you my friend are a Universalist.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all( all believers,Paul's audience)—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen( those sheep He loved before time)? It is God who justifies(gives us the Grace and faith that causes belief).
Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew(loved intimately before time) he also predestined(the sheep) to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn (first in pre-eminence and Glorification)among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined(the sheep), he also called; those he called(made alive), he also justified;( grace through faith) those he justified, he also glorified.See, all those He loved before time will be Glorified like Jesus.
@ele World is used in different contexts, the Pharisees looked out and said"Look, the whole world has gone out after Him"Sometime world means Jew and Gentile, other times it means the Gentiles, sometimes it means the world in general and sometimes it means the world of believers.Jesus prayed"I pray NOT FOR THE WORLD,but 4 those you have given me.So,ALL, and the WORLD,mean different things in context, the Greek lexicons make this clear. Is the love of money the root of ALL evil?or all kinds of evil?
@ele12957returns We are saved the very same way Jesus made Lazarus alive and come to Him,He calls to us to Resurrect our dead spiritual nature and then tells us to come to Him and all who are drawn will come.John 6:44.
@ele12957returns A person's faith is a work,a work of the Holy Spirit that God gives through the preaching of the gospel. It's God giving us Grace that justifies ,through faith that sanctifies,it all comes from God,it's a faith that causes our belief..So can you understand what I saying?Get self completely out of the picture,God in eternity past set His love on certain people whether you like it or not,He saves many people who have never heard His name but one time through the gospel.
@ele12957returns If YOU will read, you will see that Jesus or His disciples never went around telling the lost that Jesus loves YOU,they preached Christ,Crucified For Sinner Who believe, and once someone believed they were told how God saved them Eph.14-12 and why they believed.
@ele12957returns You're right,we don't know who the elect are, that's why you can't make a blanket statement and say Christ came to save you in particular or Christ loves you with a salvific love,Jesus only came for and loves His people. If you'll notice those He tells to depart ,believed in A jesus, not THE jesus and He responded that He never loved them,SINCE "know" means an intimate relationship.
@ele12957returns He,he,it doesn't matter who preaches the gospel,it matters if the gospel saves you.Bennie Hinn could read the gospel and God uses the Gospel to save us,not the man.Remember someone preaching or prophesying in Jesus name can be unknown (unloved) by God.Even though I went to an Arminian Church,I always knew that it was the power of God that caused me to turn to Him in a motel room by myself in 1995.
@ele12957returns You need to heed what those people, who Jesus rejects were saying, they said "Lord,Lord, didn't I do this or that"so if you end up wanting to say didn't "I' DO ANYTHING,you need to examine what you believe, because I can think of no more horrifying words than"I never knew you" coming from Jesus' lips.Knew in the sense Jesus is using it doesn't mean He doesn't know who they are,but that He never loved them intimately as in Adam KNEW his wife.
@CBALLEN When Jesus tells people to have faith it's His children who will hear the message, not the goats, the gospel is only for the believing ones, that's who He came to save.
@ele12957returns"People can accept or deny an appointment those that do believe." Acts 13:48 and ALL who were APPOINTED to eternal life BELIEVED
Ed,this is not some isolated account or one time event, this goes for every human being that's ever been saved,it means every elect person, even though it's talking about Gentiles,ALL who were appointed believed,it could have said,ALL GOD'S ELECT WILL BELIEVE,it means the very same thing.
"People can accept or deny an appointment those that do believe."
Now see, here's where you're wrong, when God appoints or ordains people to eternal life ,before the foundation of the world, they WILL BELIEVE! That's like telling God you're in Heaven, not because of His will but because of yours,it's like saying " God I'm here in Heaven because I said yes,but I could have told you no and if I said no you wouldn't have gotten the glory,so I deserve a little credit for doing what you wanted"scary!
@ele12957r Is 55:11So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
God's word always accomplishes what He sent it to do,it saves His sheep when it's sent for that reason, and it hardens the goats when it's sent for that reason,it never leaves one neutral.I'm glad when I was an Arminian I never argued with Calvinists,if I had,I would have had to eat a lot of crow.
@ele12957returns Isaiah 46:10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.
Now think,God makes known the end from the beginning..this means the future is caused and brought into reality by Him alone,He just doesn't know what will happen in the future,He decrees the future and He does all He pleases,so if it was His pleasure that no sin exist or that every individual be saved,it would be.
@ele12957returns Here's the thing, there will not be one person in Hell that Jesus died for,He will save every last sinner that He intended to save and there won't be one person in Hell that's not supposed to be there.God's will will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven,God does not ever fail to save His children.
@ele Ed I know what you believe because I used to believe it too and when the preacher would preach that all men are sinners,&none seek after God,I used to wonder ,'WHY DID I SEEK AFTER HIM?I knew something was not right with how the preacher described salvation, but after prayer for wisdom, study and preaching unlike I ever heard before,God opened my eyes to my error and it's like becoming brand new again. When I told my preacher of 15yrs what I believed,he asked me to leave the church.& I did.
@ele12957"no I believe what the bible teaches and I do not believe a lost man can make himself righteous and never said that they could."
..but Ed,if a man can muster up salvific faith by himself, that can cause him to truly repent and believe without God's supernatural heart transplant, then that's exactly what he's doing,he's making himself righteous enough to cause his own new birth. In other words,he's self generating the right kind of faith to present to God and THEN trades it 4 salvation.
@ele12957returns "where did I say Jesus was "trying" to save anyone?"
The whole Semi-Pelagian belief is centered around Jesus coming for no one in particular, but instead to make all men savable and that everything was done so people will see the error of their way and come to Jesus or not,it's up to the individual whether they are saved or not. They tell the world,"Jesus loves you" or "Jesus died for you" which is not true in every case,Jesus had specific people that He died for,His SHEEP.
@ele12957returns Every human being who has ever lived that was saved, was saved by Jesus. The O.T. Saints put their trust in the promised Messiah and all else in the risen Messiah, but it's all about Jesus. The O.T. is looking forward to His coming, the Gospels are about Him while He was here and the Epistles are looking back at Him,the whole Bible is about Jesus!.
@ele12957returns Most of what Jesus taught is how to know we have faith, or what happens when one has saving faith.People cannot believe because the will not believe, isn't that right? When Jesus rebuked people most all were Jews who should have known the scriptures ,but they didn't.You see,Jesus came to His own,but His own rejected Him,but later we find out why they rejected Him in Romans 11,they were partially blinded by God,so that the Gentiles may have salvation.
@ele12957returns Think about this Ed,if some plant and some water and God gives the increase, people can't be choosing Jesus or not choosing Him by their own faith or it would say,Some plant and some water, but it's God who GETS the increase, and in Acts 13:48 and all who were APPOINTED to eternal life BELIEVED and NOT all who BELIEVED were APPOINTED to eternal life.Man did not write the Bible by his free will either, all sentence structures are their exactly as God wants them.
@ele12957returns "Jesus never rejected anyone who came to Him for help, if salvation etc. is limited surely Jesus would have told some people"
Jesus has never ever rejected anyone who the Father has given Him,so you're absolutely right, but Jesus has shown us why people don't believe Him,because they are not His sheep! .Matthew 13:11 He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
Do you really think Jesus is trying to save everyone?
Act 2:47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved
This is plainly said, people weren't adding themselves to the church,God was doing it.So any time we see they turned and believed or they became believers,we are seeing the results of God making them born again. When God first revealed this truth to me it shook my world, but then I became more overjoyed than ever, knowing that God truly did choose for me to believe.
@ele12957returns What you're not seeing is that you believe a lost man can make himself righteous first by repenting and believing causing the new birth,1John 5:1 says that those believing present tense,do so because they have been born of God and believers love others who have been born of God.God proves to us that He has saved us,through this belief ,through the intimate knowledge that Jesus died for us and then the fruits of the spirit are made manifest in out life as further proof from God.
@ele12957returns Let me ask you a question,if you worshiped one or more gods and a voice that you've never heard before came to you from nowhere telling you to leave the country of your birth, your gods and your family ,to go to a place you've never been before ,would you just leave without something supernatural being done to you, would you just drop everything and worship this one God just because He told you to? Think about it,no natural man can know or understand the things of God cont.2
@ele12957returns Everything done in the Bible was done for an example to all believers and a warning of impending doom to the unbeliever.God having the demon possessed man run to Jesus is no different,I don't believe it was the demons causing the man to run to Jesus,I believe it was God causing the man to run to Jesus, remember the demons were afraid that Jesus was going to send them to Hell to be tormented. As I said before,it may take longer for some to be regenerated than others, since some cont
@CBAL cont 1 plant and some water, but it's God who gives the increase and God saves us while we are still sinners, that's why unsaved sinners are the only people who can become possessed, and that's why it's impossible to repent and believe to make yourself "born again".God is the one who makes us Born Again first and then we believe in response to God's Grace. So that would be perfectly understandable to see God draw the man to Jesus to escape possession, remember no one can believe unless drawn
cont.2 that's why it's impossible for any unregenerate man to choose Christ without FIRST being born again ,salvation is a THING OF GOD,LOST MEN CAN'T OBEY IT,UNDERSTAND IT,nor do they know they need it,everyone lost thinks they're pretty good people, only after God makes us alive SPIRITUALLY do we come to the realization that we are desperately wicked , hopelessly lost and in need of a Savior.Jesus tarrying until Lazarus died was done for a reason, that was AN EXAMPLE of how God saves us!
@ele12957returns Look, you're not proving anything about free will, there are 3 kinds of people at any given moment, regenerate sheep, unregenerate sheep and goats.God calls all His sheep to come to Jesus, some callings may be of longer duration than others, however the sheep will ultimately come to Christ.,the goats never will. The more someone argues against God having His will done, election or everlasting salvation, the more they prove they are not regenerate and possibly not sheep at all,but goats.
@ele12957Genesis 22:3 Abraham already believes that if he does sacrifice his son,God will raise him back to life, because Abraham had every intention of slaying Issac, even though He tells Issac that God would provide a sacrifice Himself. He also tells the men with him that they are going to worship and that they will return.Abraham wasn't lying to Issac, the men or God.It's this kind of faith that's given by God alone,it's the same kind that kept the martyrs brave as they faced being burn alive.
You don't believe that God gave man the 10 commandments in a belief that man could follow them,do you?God gave them to show us how weak we all are and how no one could keep them and how we all deserve death and Hell for breaking them,He gave them to bind all men up in disobedience to show us that no one deserves salvation or any good thing and so He alone could and would be our salvation for His Glory alone! He saves His elect and not the goats,to show us what He saved us from, all 4 His Glory.
@ele12957returns You seem to forget that the natural ( UNSAVED) MAN can't obey God,God must first change that man's nature from a rebellious God hater, into a God lover ,who wants to please God ,before he can ever believe, that's the crux of the whole message of the Bible.God proves that no matter what good things or curses He promises man, that man will always disobey and that God must first change the man's nature before he can ever believe in or obey God.
@ele12957returns God chose and called Abraham to believe when He found him is UR worshiping idols,it's almost like Paul's Damascus road conversion.God shows up and announces how both their lives will be from that point on,God never asks either one of them how they feel about it or if they would like to sleep on it,no,God just flat out commands them to do something ,He never says if by your free will you want to do all I;ve said,God didn't ask or invite them at all,He made a statement of fact.
@ele12957returns Here's the thing, none are righteous,NO NOT ONE! So how was it then the Abraham was counted righteous?Through the blood of Christ still to come and this promise was given to Abraham by God and Abraham believed in response to it and Abraham demonstrated this belief to the world by his willingness to sacrifice Issac. He also spoke prophetically when He told Isaac that GOD would provide HIMSELF a sacrifice. This has a dual meaning, the Ram and Jesus, but God cause Abraham to believe.
@ele12957returns God has chosen all people for different things,in fact, all things(people included) were created for their own purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil.So God chooses everyone to play some roll in His worldwide plan,Pharaoh was chosen by God to be raised up into the most powerful world leader and then destroy him before the world's eyes,Judas was chosen to betray Christ, Caiaphas pilot and Herod to condemn Christ to death, but everyone appointed to eternal life, will believe.
@ele12957 What the Bible clearly teaches is that God chose the Jews as a nation,to show the world who He was through their lives and beliefs and that God only saved out of the Jews in the OT.,He did not send prophets to other nations except in a few isolated incidents, such as Nineveh, Babylon, and Persia and that any Gentile who God did save, had to become, believe and follow the Jewish religion of having their sins merely covered by the blood of animals,in the promise of the coming redeemer.cont.
@CBALLE cont. We also know that God has revealed to us in the later times, that NOT ALL ISRAEL IS ISRAEL!The actual people called Israel whom God saves,is the CHILDREN OF PROMISE,and this means Gentiles too.So even in O.T. times when the majority of Gentiles weren't elect, those who God saved were of the elect. Now then, when the last elect Gentile is born and saved by God,Jesus will return and any ethnic Jew who is still alive, will believe on Jesus as their Messiah and they will mourn for Him.cont.
@CBALLEN cont pt. 3 When Jesus spoke of other sheep,Not of this fold,He was speaking specifically of Gentiles. These unregenerate Gentile sheep who God has predestined to believe before time. Every time the Jewish believers were gathered together ,they were constantly reminded that Jesus came to save Gentiles too or all people, this is not to say all people head for head, but that God has an elect from all peoples in the world.cont.
cont. pt 4 Acts 11:18 When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, "Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life."the unsaved Jews hated this message.Acts 13:48And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.Notice not all Gentiles were appointed or elected to believe only as many AS WERE APPOINTED TO ETERNAL LIFE BELIEVED.Same as the OT.
@ele12957returns We are justified by God by His Grace, before faith causes our belief,we are saved, Justification,We are being saved, sanctification and we will be saved, Glorification. When we are told to believe to be saved ,our belief is in response to God's regeneration, where HE ALONE JUSTIFIES US,and then we believe unto GLORIFICATION.If God had not chosen to justify anyone,no one would be saved at all, everyone would perish in Hell.
@ele12957returns Eph 2:8For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
Notice,Grace is what produces faith and it is not of yourself,it is a gift of God.So both Grace and faith are from God.If God asks why He should let you in Heaven will you say"because I chose to say yes when I could have said no to Jesus",would you really say what you believe? Those Jesus tells to depart also said that they were responsible for what they did too.
@ele12957returns We must be granted the kind of faith that leads to eternal life,Gentiles or anyone else, never could have this faith unless God first granted it to them and only those appointed to eternal life by God,before the foundation of the world can believe unto eternal life.
@ele12957returns You said, "why convict a person for something he could not do?" Oh, I don't know Ed, why did God command us to keep the 10 commandments when He knew all along we couldn't keep them? I'll tell you why, b/c God is God and can do what He wants.
Romans 5:18-19 This verse seems to equate "all people" and "many" as universal because of the context of original sin coming upon everyone without exception so it would follow in context that "all people" are made righteous without exception. How do we explain this. Im a firm believer in the doctrines of the Reformation but some scriptures by themselves seem to state differently. Can we state doctrine to be affirmed by one scripture or must we compare scripture with scripture
@ele12957returns Let me give you an analogy, lets say I told you to be righteous your love for the Jews must exceed that of Hitler's love for the Jews. Now this statement in no way indicates Hitler loved the Jews at all. It is the same with Jesus statement it in no way indicates that the scribes and Pharisees had ANY righteousness.
@ele12957returns Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Dummy, the scribes and Pharisees DID NOT HAVE ANY RIGHTEOUSNESS, of course Jesus told us that our righteousness must exceed theirs, a frogs righteousness could exceed theirs at least he is innocent.
@ele12957returns Jas 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. imputed imputed imputed imputed imputed imputed imputed, Christ Righteousness is IMPUTED to us just like Abraham.
@ele12957returns "Paul says Jesus took our sin and gave us His righteousness"
Do you FAIL to realize that that was a legal, forensic, transaction? This is what credited means Mr. Cuckoo Clock! I cannot have a civil conversation with a blithering idiot! You need a new lobotomy because your old one just ain't doin' the job! ROFLOL
@ele12957returns "no, read carefully what I said, I am quoting Paul, is he a confused RC?
"What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Rom 4:3
You are not only a NUT JOB but a confused LIAR. Paul NEVER says we have the righteousness of Christ imputed or infused to us in NT times. Romans 4:3 doesn't support your heretical nonsense either. YOU are the closet RC NOT Paul so don't try to drag him aboard your sinking polemical ship LOL
@KalElohim "You are not only a NUT JOB but a confused LIAR. Paul NEVER says we have the righteousness of Christ imputed or infused to us in NT times."
Nut Job - Gordito? Hmmm, you said it is a SIN to call people names! You attacked John Robbins' essay "The virtue of Name Calling". You piously told us that the the Holy Spirit had convicted you of this sin! Holy Cow, you antinomian ding-dong, here you are spewing out lies again.
Apart from that, you got your doctrine ass about kettle, Jackass!
@Afrikitty I thought your friend may need to see this.God Bless "And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification." Romans 4:22-25
@CBALLEN Thank you very much for your response and for your excellent Scripture.
Unfortunately I had no desire at all to share Scripture with Blogrich55/KalElohim/SmoleyHoax/SmokeyGunn357/AbnerHake777/TheBearTruth777/BluesCrooner/HermanoRicardo336/ plus the host of other fraudulent names he has used to impersonate others on YouTube. This man is not my friend - he is my enemy. In fact, he is nobody's friend - He is a traitor of ALL Brethren in Christ, spewing out lies and hypocrisy all day long.
@Afrikitty "you said it is a SIN to call people names!"
I see Marty's mangy alley cat is back trying to show her claws. You are such a loving soul. WHO has a murderous heart? Look in the mirror Lizzy Poo. You and your golden calf idol are the antinomians has has been well proved in videos. Now you call me one. LOL You have NOTHING to bring to the discussion table so you shake your flea bitten paw and snarl and snap like any rabid cat.
Keep on lying Liz. Hell has a special place for your sort!
@KalElohim Actually, you have NOT proved me a liar at all. All you, and those like have done, is make dirty videos against me - that's all, Gordito.
They have not accused me of anything more than being a lonely old woman, a granny, a purple haired banshee, a mangy alley cat, a bitch on heat, a flea bitten alley cat, a rabid cat, a worshipper of golden calfs, and a HOST of other names, just like it is in their nature to do. No, hell is not waiting for me, Richard - It is waiting for YOU!
@Afrikitty "They have not accused me of anything more than being a lonely old woman, a granny, a purple haired banshee, a mangy alley cat, a bitch on heat, a flea bitten alley cat, a rabid cat, a worshipper of golden calfs..."
Truth hurts eh Lizzy Poo? Quit whining and go cry on Marty's shoulder! You are so hateful and mean it's a wonder you can stand yourself! YOU attacked me first. You actually think I hate you. I don't have the time or energy. I feel sorry for you! Grow up and get a life!
@ele12957returns "no argument from silence at all pure logic tells you this..."
I see you don't understand logic any better than you do John Calvin LOL I suggest you look up argument from silence in a good college text book. Might I recommend Copi, Hurley, or Beardsley?
As to fleeces in the OT and not in the NT, what about the prayer of Jabez and other tom foolery? Is THAT limited to the OT as well?
"Grace was credited to OT saints by their faith but NT saints experience it." sAy WHAT??
@ele12957returns "Why did Paul say that Abraham's righteousness was "credited" when believers today are made righteous by faith in the finished work of the cross?"
Are you saying Abraham was declared righteous (imputed righteousness) and modern saints are made righteous ( infused or imparted righteousness)?
Christ's righteousness is IMPUTED not IMPARTED to both OT and NT saints. You sound like a confused closet Roman Catholic.
@ele12957 "If Paul says law nullifies grace how would OT saints under the law have functioned?"
NO ONE has EVER been saved by keeping the law! Paul asks "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid; yea, we establish the law." Romans 3:31
@ele12957returns yes Twas the schoolmaster or shadow. Jehovahjireh:=God has provided(Gen22v7~14) is a very clear picture of our unchanging Father's Love. All part of the over all plan,. At the end of the day, any Master that can command VY Canis Majoris (VY CMa) to stand in its place & build the rest of the Universe + earth & all things there in- in lest then a week....hmmm such as He, has it sust out i reckon. Amen.
@ele12957returns Good to remember it was Jesus who gave Moses the commandments in the first place, in Matt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
The primary precepts haven't changed at all. Mark15:38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.= access into the Holy of Holies~our High Priest Hebrews3v1Wherefore, ...consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;+ch4v14~16 &6:19
@ele12957returns "...they were led by their senses "fleeces" etc." I still reckon the fact that they asked or sort a sign required faith?, we also exercise our senses in/for discernment-Heb5v14. I agree the "promise" was delivered in full at Pentecost, prior to that was as like the wind. David said take not the holy spirit from me Psalm51v10~12.
@ele12957returns You said, "actually the Mosaic law did not require faith" Umm Ed, no one was ever saved by the law, Therefore they ALL who were saved, were saved by faith.
Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
@ele12957returns RE: "...Paul tells us that law/grace cannot mix..."?-the law that Paul speaks of here is the mosaic law (to the deed or letter) & people trying to live that law without faith in The Lord of that law. The Royal Law... or law of faith is common from Adam till the end. Romans3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Heb13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Jesuits invented dispensationalism not Jesus. Acts7v38
@ele12957returns Paul also says: Eph4v5&6: 1 body , 1 God, 1 faith, 1 spirit, 1baptism . 1Cor10v1~4 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 10:3 And did all eat *the same spiritual meat*; 10:4 And did all drink *the same spiritual drink*: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
I've began to wonder if it was even worth messing with some of these people. Where do they learn some of these teachings? They say disgrace the Cross of Christ by taking away His merit and worth. Christ died to atone for sin, BUT ... He saved you from your sin. Where we were in bondage were free? Simple. Galations 2:20. Romans 6:6. And what is it the the scriptures say? "Be Holy, for I am Holy." 1 Peter 1:16. Fight your fight, not lay down your swords. I pray for them. Glory to God.
@ele12957returns Doesn't need to, The Bible does not use the term Trinity either but we believe it. Sorry, but the OT saints were saved just like we are through Justification by faith in the finished work of Christ alone.
~Jeff, @24seconds mgreer511002 says "...what kind of an *idiot*..."<This comment is much worse than any squeaky doors... idiot ="raca" from Matt5v22.
The Paul only-ist or Hyper-D crew seem to think anything other than Paul's writings have no relevance to christians today. mgree511002, Greg, Ahavah8Ahavah & other Hyper-d's, teach that Paul's gospel was somehow different from Peters. 1Cor10v1~4 shows that even Moses & the Israelites are part of The body of Christ.
Love the intro, how many christians past and present have heard the creaking of tomb and prison doors closing behind them. That man has seen "The exorcist" one too many times.
Another Dispensational King James Only’ist who just likes to insult. All these self promoters who say they want to see people come to salvation are actually haters of mankind. What kind of hatred is it to tell people they do not need to repent since repentance does not justify? They are right of course repentance does not justify but none will be saved without it. The pinnacle of hatred is to say people are saved when they are living in unrepentant open sin. That must be close to demonic.
And I guess the numbers in your name have to come AFTER your name or there's something wrong with you. Praying for the legalist mgreer511002
Doesn't he know about the 1689 London Baptist Confession? More Christians should adhere to the old paths of the confessionalists and there would be less heresy.
creaky doors... a list of the solas...a Bible(I presume?).....a pen....and a lamp...
...that's demonic? I hope none of the doors in his home creak.
talk about getting focusing in on non-issues(straining a gnat), who are these guys? This is hilarious if that's what someone's going to criticize...
Greg has always been a heretic, he makes no apologies--he's self-condemned--he's not even a Christian according to Paul's own writings, the one he thinks he uses to bolster his hyper-d.
B-r-r-r-r-r-r- every time I hear those doors creak I expect to see the Crypt Keeper lurking in the shadows LOL Just kidding bro! Good job as usual! God bless.
Honestly have not gone to mgreer511002's channel but know you have featured this guy several times. So your intro is 'demonic'? Huh? If he thinks that way I wonder what this guy thinks of my buddy Oct311517's intro? :-> That is like saying I am sick of this guys green floral pattern and it makes me ill - it must be 'demonic' cause of the wood signs he has up. Come on, that is just plain sad and stupid.
??? He has a number behind his name.

@ele12957returns Romans 3: 9 What then? Are we Jews [1] any better off? [2] No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, 10 as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
Here is why I believe no one seeks God,because God's word says that no one seeks God,I didn't pull it out of a hat.
CBALLEN 7 months ago
@CBALLEN Since no one seeks God then how do people become saved, you may ask,it's through the power of the Gospel being preached,God quickens His elect to life through it and they believe, only then will they spend the rest of their Life seeking a deeper relationship with God,the unregenerate man is UNABLE AND UNWILLING TO DO THIS.You give MAN way too much credit and rob God of His Glory in the process.

CBALLEN 7 months ago
cont.2 that's why it's impossible for any unregenerate man to choose Christ without FIRST being born again ,salvation is a THING OF GOD,LOST MEN CAN'T OBEY IT,UNDERSTAND IT,nor do they know they need it,everyone lost thinks they're pretty good people, only after God makes us alive SPIRITUALLY do we come to the realization that we are desperately wicked , hopelessly lost and in need of a Savior.Jesus tarrying until Lazarus died was done for a reason, that was AN EXAMPLE of how God saves us!

Romans 5:18-19 This verse seems to equate "all people" and "many" as universal because of the context of original sin coming upon everyone without exception so it would follow in context that "all people" are made righteous without exception. What kind of hatred is it to tell people they do not need to repent since repentance does not justify? They are right of course repentance does not justify but none will be saved without it. The pinnacle of hatred is to say people are saved when they are living in unrepentant open sin. That must be close to demonic.

If he thinks that way I wonder what this guy thinks of my buddy Oct311517's intro? :-> That is like saying I am sick of this guys green floral pattern and it makes me ill - it must be 'demonic' cause of the wood signs he has up. Come on, that is just plain sad and stupid.
