Here, the dual Magnetic Flagman installation ran like a top, much as the Southern Pacific would have intended. But it appears that not too many engineers are used to the travel in the whistle valves of steamers such as this Baldwin 4-6-0, and the whistle needs a lot of steam to really sing.
@tj12777 Usually they have the Nevada day parade in Carson City and they put the Inyo on the back of a big rig truck and run it down the street in the parade. Quite a site to see. I used to volunteer at the Nevada State RR museum and my vids were shown on TV in northern Nevada.
wtf is wrong with the engineer i would have gone crazy with the whistle and AWESOME!! A WIG WAG! but seriously engineer dude needs to let loose and learn to give the whistle justice on a AWESOME locomotive
There was a few crossings like that in my home town of Santa Cruz, California, through the 1970s and '80s. Not sure when exactly the last of them got replaced by modern gates. Nostalgic to see one here, though it's on museum grounds and not in "real" use. I wonder if any town still has one of these "wig-wag" crossings anymore.
one of those steamers out there dont remember which one lettered for the V&T was not actully a V&T engine at all it belonged to the Dardenville and Russelvile railroad in Arkansas if I am right that was it here..but not to knock this at all it is still very nestalgic I love it ....God bless the old V&T
Awesome video! I like the action on the wig-Wags here.

That looks very timeless with the wig-wags and the 10 wheeler and the old 1890 looking passenger cars, good catch

I love wig-wags! Why didnt the engineer let loose on the whistle. Little "toot-toots" dont cut it from a steamer!
