Just a bit of trivia for those that are unaware......brian boucher and scott gomez both played for the Tri-City Americans in the WHL......Just fyi. BTW, they were both excellent players while with the Ams. Also, Boucher and Daymond Langkow were teammates and drafted the same year--Boucher to the Flyers and Langkow to the Lightning.

It's rather ironic that Vansbesbrouck (sp?) is the backup in this game because he's one of the only goalie I know of that wore those masks with the full cage in league history. These masks are really dangerous with all the injuries with players crashing the net which raises the chance of an errant stick going in there and we all know how dangerous that is.

catseye masks are not certified at all because of this issue.

USA hockey requires a full grill like the one beezer used that a stick can't even get into.

When I played the full grill on my mask never bothered me. I still know goalies who play without any throat protection....clint malarchuck anyone?
