  • cool ive seen this (not this excact one)when i went with my parents to sikh center (in houston)

  • Which Sikh center was this? The new one on the NW side near the racetrack? I go to a Sikh auto shop near there. They have been about the most honest people I've ever dealt with. Owner as an Masters degree in engieering and is wife drives a hard bargain on parts and sometimes passes the savings along to customers

  • im lol i dont really know sorry...i'll ask my dad later

  • no it was just the old regular one

  • Very nice.

  • raw power!

  • It looks like a simultaneous defense and attack all in circular motions. Probably takes a lot of stamina to keep up, I wonder how long a man of average fitness could sustain this technique.

  • awesome!! a true master in action!

  • no karan it was 40 sikhs who went to chamkaur, and it was ONE MILLION moghuls who surrounded them

WRITTEN BY THE MOGHULS AND GURU GOBIND SINGH IN THE ZAFARNAMA

  • O.O

  • You're the first upna I've ran by who uses emoticons like that xD Awesome!

  • battle of chamkaur - 40 flamished sikhs held off 1 million moghul solders for an entire day, historicaly documented by the contemporary moghul regime and recorded in guru gobind isnghs baanis- dasam granth zafarnama

  • shyt...that's fukin insane bro

  • Well there is more then 500 years of proof also this martial arts helped these warriors free Hindhu slaves which were kidnapped from Delhi and were being braught back to Afghanistan and Iran.

  • Imagine if u are standing near him...then u will know can it cut or its just for show!!!

  • SIMPLY AMAZING :O

  • I found a new art to study!!!

  • Great Video to show Sikhi's Power during battle

  • I dont think so, there are hundreds, if not more, openings in his (dance)moves and even tho the vid shows great skill in swinging that sword in the basic 8 around his body while doing that dance, I see very little "battle skills" here.

  • and i suppose your study of the sword can match his?

  • You have to remember that he had an arm shield too, and he was moving fast enough so that weapons wouldn't get him. Also, the weapons back them were not meant for thrusting, so this would have suited combat perfectly.

  • Definitely not anywhere near 100 openings, but you're thinking of this the wrong way. If it was one person, for example, vs. this Sikh, he wouldn't be trying to cover a 360 radius. He'd be moving closer towards you using the sword as a shield (one hand), and once he gets close enough I'm sure he could use his other hand to draw a weapon and attack you. Then again, maybe not. But this style would definitely deter and panic small groups of enemies, preventing them from getting close. Handy, no?

  • This is awesome but keep the khalistani crap to a minimum, there are many great warriors in India who can do this as well.

  • this is sick!!!

  • Reaaly a SICK...

  • i can do that better

  • Post your video then.

  • LOL!

  • ha ha DavinSteidel goes he's a 9th dan in Japanese swords..the guys only 14..lol

  • Great vid! i've had the pleasure of training with these guys and believe me when i say they are amazing! That's Harjinder Singh and they are the Baba Deep Singh Gatka Akhara from Birmingham. If anyone gets a chance to see a live demo of them, I would recommend going to see.

  • u see that inhollywood

  • you what would be super cool....a samuri face of against this sikh sword master.sikh forever

  • thtd be sweet man

  • Pretty neat!

  • if you peopl want to see more search gatka

    hope you enjoy

  • Sinstall, it depends i think. I've heard a lot of people use sharp blades.

  • i can do that in my sleep i really hope you dont think that was good because it really wasnt im a 9th dan in japanese swords

  • Show us. put your web cam where your mouth is.

  • davinsteidel, u stick 2 ur japanese sword shit!

  • you mean a katana

  • 9th dan? u should get demoted for lack of humility.

  • hey everyone: i have a question. i have seen this before and i have always wondered if the sword/weapon being used is real or not. i mean, what happens if it accidentally slips off from the guy's hand and lands up somewhere in the nearby public. what are the alternatives? what can the possible outcomes be?

just a query... i expect to learn something.

  • From what I remember, it's real in as much as it's made of steel but not real in as much as it isn't razor sharp. That said, it would still do a very nasty injury involving gaping wounds and crushed bones if you got hit by one. Your limbs would probably remain attached though. Just.

  • hey thanks and sorry for the late reply. i appreciate you replying me :)

  • @sinstall nah dood it wouldnt be that bad. my friend hit me real hard with a katana without an edge once. just left a nice little gash and a huge bruise. hurt like a bitch though i can only immagine how a real one must feel

  • I would definitely not want to fight that guy.

  • The dudes got moves!

  • I'd say its more of a dance.

  • This is Harjinder singh, ustad of Baba Deep Singh Gatka Akhara, West Brom. Gatka team on Richard and Judy Show were Baba Fateh Singh Gatka Akhara From East London Ustad Uptej Singh.Check out BFS gatka akhara website. Respect.

  • Gatka is awesome! The years of training and skill shown in this vid is a pleasure to watch, thank you for sharing. If anyone is interested Sikhs fought in both world wars and were feared and respected for their fighting skills, its a pity their only a footnote in history.

  • Bristol harbourside festival but the guys were down from Brimingham

  • this man came to our gurudwara hes really cool.

  • WHERE IS THIS ??

  • amazing!!

  • These guys came on The Richard and Judy show!

  • this tradition is not asking for you to like it, just to respect it

  • the tiny part of india that the indian government murdered thousands of sikh people not even 23 years

  • very true

  • Sujot, I do appreciate the tradition and skill behind this, I really do. Please don't read any disrespect into my comments.

Interesting to find out that the style came about due to the need to fight multiple opponents, cheers for that, I'll have a look at the link when I get 5 minutes.

  • The movie you have taken documents how this rich history is still alive today. The least you can do is change the title and the description of this video. Thank you. If you would like to find out more about the history of Gatka please visit: http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php?title=Gatka

  • What do you mean I have to "admit it's nutty"? The art from was created because 1 Sikh was forced to fight at least 3 opposing soldiers at a one time. For the right to believe in something different, the right to stand up for others- these dynamic people were put into a position where if they could not fight more than one person at a time they would have been obliterated.

  • No shit they're highly trained! Very impressive but you gotta admit it's nutty whirling those swords around.

    Top blokes

  • Ye, show some respect

  • I think it is really cool that the Sikh martial art can be so freely shared on this site. But like the Singh above has mentioned, these Sikhs are highly trained in this art form. They as well as other Sikhs should not be subjected to this sort of disrespect. Please change the title and the description of this video.

  • sinstall i wouldnt expect you to be bright but for future reference the guys practising a martial art and is not a "nutter" as you so elegantly put

  • Thats cool, i mean punjabis have great Virsa.

  • waheguru ji ka khalsa

    waheguru ji ki fateh
