  • @MrLioser At least I'm grateful

  • @busheep have a cow man

  • it's one thing to try and figure this out yourself and then get the tabs but to actually be shown like this is awesome, thanks dude, rockin this on my acoustic atm. btw your so unpretentious too thanks again

  • this lesson really helped me learn the chorus

  • good explaining!! definitly want others video of tool from you!

  • thanks--ur great!

  • Ehi I'm not an expert LoL Is it in standard tuning?

  • @MarkoBlood 99% of Tool songs are in Drop D

  • @axeofcreation Thx! Another little thing PLZ! How can i set my amplifier to play this song? I need Treble, Middle and Bass.

  • @axeofcreation wait so there's that one song that's in standard?

  • @AroundTowniCome No. They have a couple songs that incorporate a low B (Prison Sex & Parabola)

  • @MarkoBlood nope, its in drop D. DADGBE

  • Just going to say how cool it is, ontop of this being an amazing tutorial, that you have a couple palahniuk books on your shelf.

  • @fuckkcuf144 Thanks! Big fan of his work.

  • Dude you should go ahead and just do every song by tool. You seem to be dead on on all these lessons/covers. And your very good at explaining them to. And you should Deffinetly do rosetta stoned!!!

  • @1123foreman Thank you! I will be doing a lesson for every song.

  • Great tutorial. Very very helpful. Helped me perfect this song within hours =]

  • @thetruerater5 Excellent!

  • at 13:15, where is my DNA sting?? do i need another guitar??

Love your video's man! You explain the parts very clear!

Thanx and ill keep watching :)

    Greets from The Netherland

  • @djspinall haha, thank you very much!

  • Great tutorial, great job. Are there any songs that you can't play from Tool or have a harder time playing than others? :P

To me it's got to be Rosetta Stoned is the most challenging so far since it is kind of tedious and has a lot of variations/changes to remember.

  • @hceely Thank you so much. Honestly, I find the most challenging thing about Tool is replicating the songs in live situations rather than being able to play the songs. Having all the effects dialed in just right along with having absolute control over your dynamics. Rosetta Stoned is definitely a challenge, especially because of it's length and like you said variation. The second half of that song is so fun to play!

  • @axeofcreation ... ya Maynerd does that huh .... :)

  • Its sounds alot better with the open D

  • @heriticsfist Usually when I jam on this song live I like to mix in both ways at different times throughout the song.

  • @axeofcreation Either way its the same. lol Just personal preference i guess. Nice job on the cover and great tone by the way. You should do a tutorial on Rosetta Stoned. I may have mentioned this earlier but I thought this would be a great chance to run the message by you again.

  • @heriticsfist I love Rosetta Stoned. Such a fun song to jam on. Long but fun. The second half is so tiring for the left hand.

  • When will you release your next video?

Will it be a tool song? :)

  • @lateralsx7 I will be posting some new lesson by next week and no it will not be a Tool lesson, sorry. I have many other lessons planned other than Tool. Although I will be posting all Tool songs on my new site, which will be launching by this months end. Thanks!!

  • Honestly this is THE BEST tutorial for this song ever! You really explain this well!

  • @MyInferno6661 Thank you, much appreciated!

  • goddamn amazing bassline though! Great tutorial though, really helps with some of the parts im a little confused with, THANKS! :D

  • @xNotZacharyx Much Thanks!

  • RAMPAGE KILL!!

  • damn good lesson... congrats

  • @walhalla254 Thx

  • Epic tutorial man, could you do eulogy ?

  • @MortalFilth Eulogy is great. Definitely in que. Thanks!

  • Great tutorial man what model agile is that?

  • @IbaShredder4 Thanks. Not sure of the exact model.

  • Awesome song, awesome lesson! Glad to have found your channel man good stuff, keep 'em coming please!

  • @Fr33Thinker11 Thank you so much

  • Flawless victory!

  • @djentonomicon Nice. Thanks!

  • Thanks for another great lesson man. You seemed pretty excited to break down the final riff lol. I agree though its a great riff and possibly the best outro of all Tool's songs. Oh, and yeah, Justin is a bass god. Watching him, Maynard, Adam, and Danny interact on stage is a special experience.

  • you have musicians hair :)

  • @ValeriCFBG umm, thank you?

  • you have 666 subscribers right now !

  • @lavinen500 all hail the metal gods! haha

  • really wish you could do the bass in this song.

  • @xxelaxela333 I don't own a bass (shame on me). Otherwise I would totally do the bass parts for all of my Tool lessons.

  • @axeofcreation yeah this is a really bass heavy song and its really hard llol. do you know/can you play bass? its actually pretty fun.

  • @xxelaxela333 I can and it is fun.

  • @xxelaxela333 bass is waaay important in tool`s sound and song structures. just sayin`. excellent video.

  • @ppriess very important. Watching Chancellor live is great, he's the ring leader

  • Seriously thinking your lessons are some of the best I have come across on YouTube.

  • @GoBillaaay Thank you so much. That means a lot to me! Best of luck.

  • for me*

  • Ok my bad. I will need weeks to play well this part at 10min55. Always that ANNOYING part :@@ (annoying because of the difficulty for, it's so nice to hear it).

  • Teach how to play Rosetta Stoned, I am a little bit confused with that song, my fingers f*cking hurt in that song. Or Aenema.

  • @juankashi I definitely will. Thank!

  • awesome videos man, I have not been playing that long but I've heard from most people that the first songs you should be working on are the ones you love, and lucky for me that you have showed us a few already. Still hoping you will do a 'No Quarter' video someday, I love it more and more every time I listen to it. Keep up the good work!

  • @Mattigw Thanks a lot!! You should definitely be learning the music you love and want to play. No Quarter would be quite the endeavor. There is a lot to that song, lots of guitar tracks going on. One of their best tracks. It's like Zeppelin wrote it for Tool.

  • watch?v=RC6hdDrYNWA - the pot guitar cover by kronie19

This guy has a very interesting idea for the "fill" after the first bend riff (around 1:20 min of the song) I think it`s better even from Adam Jones version of it (that you played)

  • awesome lesson as always, one minor thing is like tto ennd the main riff ends as soo ,from tooltabs

    D----------------

    A-------------3--

D--0--0h3--- only difference is the hammer --on

  • Awesome lesson again man, but I think the part you labelled 2nd chorus is a bit different on the album.

On the second two repititions, the ones without the fill, I think it goes:

    D- 0 0 xx 0 0 xx 2 2 xx 0 0 xx 3 3 xx 0 0 xx 5 5 xx then the fill.

    A - 0 0 xx 0 0 xx 2 2 xx 0 0 xx 3 3 xx 0 0 xx 5 5 xx

    D- 0 0 xx 0 0 xx 2 2 xx 0 0 xx 3 3 xx 0 0 xx 5 5 xx

  • @Mike010ekiM Nice find. Shame on me for neglecting that part!

  • I was really gonna suggest a "The Pot" lesson, I am not sorry for subscribing you my good sir

  • Fantastic work! This may be your best lesson yet. Agree about the outro. Awesome riff.

  • @atomiicx That riff just grabbing you and slams you out. Thanks!

  • Good video! I would suggest 1. Complete the Tool oeuvre 2. Start working on Dream Theater. Your videos are appreciated man, thanks.

  • @MyOvercoat My site will be up soon and I plan on completing the Tool oeuvre (word of the day bonus points) there. Dream Theater lessons would be an hour each haha. I'm gonna put together a Petrucci lesson.

  • Many thanks for this lesson I was waiting for ! I will work it tonight but it seems you enlighted well the part I was blocking on.

  • @Erkoil Excellent! I hope you work it out!

  • Yessss, another Tool lesson! You sir, are bloody awesome.

  • @Doooooooomed3 Gracias!!!

  • is it that easy for you hearing al the riffs exactly as they are used or do you work them out for hours?

  • @der2h2h Honestly it depends on the part. Some parts are trickier to hear then others. Being familiar with the repertoire helps.

  • Man I really appreciated your videos! Thanks!

  • @lopez316us Thanks! I'm glad they help.

  • Your welcome!!

  • Thank you for this video!!
