  • Dear rest of the world

We're sorry about Justin Bieber. This is an apology form us.

    From Canada

    PS You're Welcome.

  • Frankly, this sounds like almost everything else out there. I think we're in a musical doldrums just as we were when the Beatles hit and provided blessed relief.

The utter similarity of this to the formulaic dreck filling every cranny of the musical "consciousness" of the present day is a little dis-spiriting.

Be original, if you can, why doncha??

    Jeez.

  • I love how "Ice cube Check ya self" is in the related videos

  • his voice quite reminds me of conor obrien from villagers

  • Keep Canadian music alive! Search "Busker Bros - Cover Letter" for more greatness!

  • I love Tim's voice so much.

And this song is amazing! :)

Actually all songs are great :D

  • I love this song. It always sounds like the hip at the start though :P

  • I was with my daughter at the park and got into a conversation with a couple of teenagers who told me about this group.I had never heard of them before but if I see those young people again I am going to thank them for telling me about this band.I like them.

  • Actually met Tim, Josh and Phil at their gig at the Hi-Fi today...

    They're so amazing.

  • I saw these guys today supporting the Jezabels, and they were INCREDIBLE!! Such a good energy onstage! :D

  • @myworld240 I saw the Jezables, honestly I thought the sounded like crap. Which made Hey Rosetta sound that much better!

  • greatest band to ever come out of newfoundland. sorry great big sea.

  • This song has rise up so much in my favorites since it's at the end of the video about the reactions after Crosby's goal at the Olympics.

  • 12 people have never loved early '90s music videos

  • Reminds me of Death Cab For Cutie some how. Still, really, really great =)

  • Hey Rosetta! > Arcade Fire

  • @ThatFailedAbortion Arcade Fire and Hey Rosetta! sound nothing alike. Just saying.

  • @MrTRmorse Actually they do. While the lead singers are VERY different, both bands combine rock music with classical type instruments to make very big sounds. Both bands combine these sounds very well and I love them both. Listen to Yer Spring if you need an example of what I'm talking about.

  • This is addictive! Just discovered these guys after hearing they're going to be touring with my favourite band The Jezabels (from Australia and ridiculously highly recommended).

  • Comment removed

  • @motorjuice Why?

  • i still luv listening to this song

  • They are coming to CSLC Yess!

  • This band is coming to my school in about a month ^-^

  • how didn't I not know about Hey Rosetta! up until yesterday... one of my new favorite Canadian bands:)

  • Just saw them live in North Bay. What's up with this town we shoulda screamed & got them to play 2 encores :)

  • @Hamgammy Bieber and Nickelback? oh god. How bout, Adian Knight, Dan Mangan, City & Colour, Arcade FIre, Broken Social Scene?

  • Nickelback, Bieber and Hey Rosetta. Finally putting Canada on the map with their music!!

  • @Hamgammy Nickelback and Bieber? Really? What about real bands and artists, like Rush and Dallas Green? That's the music we should be hoping to be recognized for

  • @src248 Dallas Green/City and Colour give me eargasms. Unbelievable music. Its a shame they dont get the recognition they deserve.

  • @Hamgammy Why the fack you would you mention Bieber? He single handedly set back good canadian music like 15 years!

  • @Hamgammy .......seriously???? .........that almost makes me hate being Canadian. Almost.

  • @Hamgammy .....Canada wants nothing to do with Bieber.

  • @TheSuperWeeny Really? Do you speak for all Canadians? I'm pretty sure there are a large number of Canadians proud of the fact that someone so young has made it onto the international stage and given Canada some recognition. You may not enjoy his music, but there is a fanbase for it. I personally have been to Stratford not more than a week ago to see a play and the people in the town speak very fondly of him even though most of them I chatted with were elderly.

  • @Hamgammy I'm from Stratford. Basically I'd say good for him, but there's a lot more talent in that city that should also get more recognition.

  • Their bass player is a bass monster

  • I have a fever, and the only cure IS MORE BASS!

  • i love the band!

  • I love their bass player

  • WOOOHOO go us! St.johns Newfoundland Canada! can't wait to see you guys back for the folk fest back home!

  • seeing them at bluesfest f yeah

  • they played at Canada Day and were the best band there

  • reppin newfoundland bitches

  • I truly believe we as Canadians have some of the greatest musicians per capita than any place on Earth.

  • @knightsraiders27 you have bieber...

  • @leavealoner we gave him to the states...

  • @brknspacebar LOLOLOLOL

  • @knightsraiders27 I can prove you wrong. Justin Bieber.

  • @ThisOnesForYouKid He's not a musician, and that's not what 'per capita' means, anyway.

  • these guys have so many albums and i've just heard of them, wish i knew sooner. amazing music.

  • Listen to welcome. it's a good song.

  • i'm definitely blasting this song on repeat on canada day.. reminds me so much of the olympics <3

  • thumbs up if you are watching this after watchlistentell :)

  • I get to see these guys along with the Tragically Hip on Canada Day. Top that...

  • @AndrewEdwards87 Seeing them pluuuuus the Arkells at bluefest...you've been top'd

  • @Darkside45 lol that doesn't even come close to topping it, the trag are legends. and on canada day? can't get more canadian than that

  • @Darkside45

the Arkells don't top Weezer and the Tragically Hip on Canada Day no less. Bluesfest will be awesome though.

  • @YouGottaFaxe Must agree...although it would probably be better in Bobcageon. Im going Canada day too thouhg

  • @YouGottaFaxe Must agree...although it would probably be better in Bobcageon. Im going Canada day too though

  • @AndrewEdwards87 me too! going to be amazing! i can hardly wait

  • This song makes me want to go party on George Street.

Thumbs up if you know what I'm talking about!

  • I mean Canada has some AMAZING bands to represent our country, but these guys could easily top that list.,

  • what does this have to do with Coffee?

  • @sdrawdedivadnairb Because ppl are dumb...what happened is this song was featured in a very popular video montage of the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver made by Stephen Brunt. The video which was well done showcased Canadian pride and all the areas in which it still has meaning blah blah etc.The band also played during the Olympics and was really catching steam at this point. Stephen Brunt can be thanked for popularizing the song and making it into a sort of Canadian anthem...indie anthem

  • @sdrawdedivadnairb Tim Hortons, for those of us not from Canada is an immensely popular donut shop in Canada most well known for its delicious coffee and ridiculously long drive through windows. It somehow through media, popularity, and the fact its named after a famous hockey player results in Tim Hortons being a National Symbol and something Canucks deem truly Canadian. So because of this ties were made between a song named Red Heart that has nothing to do with Canada, and a Cup of Coffee

  • Ran into a few of these guys at a shop in Sydney a few weeks ago. Was awesome.

  • My frosh year at St. FX, Hey Rosetta was opening for Matt Mayes. It was packed and the crowd went nuts for Hey Rosetta. When their set ended, 75% of the people, including me, left to go drink beer and listen to Hey Rosetta albums.

  • They're playing with Mother Mother this year at Osheaga <3

    Canadian bands are just amazing

  • I want india

  • Tim Baker you are a genius just pure brillance

  • saw you live last night, I want to say thank you.

  • They're playing with The Tragically Hip and Buck 65 on Canada Day this year. Doesn't get more Canadian than that, I guess...

    See you there.

  • @oceanic1 and broken social scene! :D

  • @oceanic1 canada day where?

  • Canucks. Enough Said...

  • This song makes me want a coffee from Tim Hortons.

  • @NobodyMinds21 Are you high?

  • Watched this because I saw that they were playing with City and Colour on his tour in Australia, and I'd never heard of them...Pretty damn good. Can't wait to see them.

  • Thumbs up if you agree that anymore than 3 comments back and forth with the same person should be done by email or messaging

  • Dudes, whats with the fighting over love of land?

    canadians love canada,

    americans love america.

And I, freaking love Hey Rosetta!

  • @DesireeLevy I love good music, not the countries it happens to come out of at various points.

  • R.I.P. Daniel Britt.

I won't ever forget you, you spastic fuck.

  • Lol @ "Canadian Pride"...

  • @KingCrimson776 Lol @ American ignorance....

  • @yzerman1919 Nationalism is always stupid.

  • @KingCrimson776 There's a difference between nationalism and patriotism. A big, big difference.

  • @WhammyDown Not really, they both involve taking pride in an arbitrary area of land.

  • @KingCrimson776 Nationalism is the belief that one's nation is superior to others, and that the will of said nation should be imposed on others through violence, etc. It has an underlying ideology of violence and hate towards others. Patriotism is simply loving where you're from. I don't care if you're American or whatever, but I'd rather live where I call home, and I love it. Learn the difference, it's pretty significant.

  • @WhammyDown Either way, taking pride in an area of land is stupid. I have no "American Pride", nor should you guys have any pride in your frozen piece of earth.

  • @KingCrimson776 lol @ ideological bigotry on a youtube page

  • @depressio117 I know right? What's up with this "Canadian Pride" crap?

  • @KingCrimson776 It's not in the area of land itself. It's in the people, the music (see above), the hockey, the winter...oh and the healthcare, bitch.

  • @WhammyDown It's inherently about the area of land itself, you're saying the people and the music, the fucking hockey (lol)... even the damned winter is apparently superior (!), in that area of land. The healthcare is the only thing, but I'd be glad about that, as opposed to "proud".

  • @KingCrimson776 well i think we are proud for canadian people because you dont really see that much canada around the world

people in the us arent proud of lady gaga cause shes american, because its not unusual for an american to be big

but when someone or something canadian gets big, canada has pride, simply cause its canadian

i guess its the same thing as if someone from your hometown got famous, im sure you would be proud

    well, canada is our hometown

  • @butterknucklez I couldn't begin to give a rat's ass if someone from my hometown got "big". I have no tendency to hold the importance of one area over another in any way. Your argument is basically that "there are less people in Canada, less great things happen, so we are proud of what measly stuff we have."

  • @KingCrimson776 exactly except its not measly

  • @butterknucklez You implied there was a "measly" amount of good stuff from Canada when you said that it was much rarer for Canadian stuff to "get big" than American stuff.

  • @butterknucklez

Very well put, Butterknucklez. And it's very typical for Canadians to be proud of something like a work of beautiful art that was created by one of our own or a social policy that's been implemented within our nation rather than a war that was won or something. I think that pride can be dangerous but being proud of a peaceful statement is not only harmless but something I wish was more contagious.

  • @oceanic1 now that was well said

  • The show in Montreal was perfect. <3

  • When it's all said and done, they will be one of the greatest Canadian bands to ever walk the Earth.

  • no way this was shot in newfoundland cause just look their actually walk though the woods : P HEY ROSETTA!!!!

  • If you don't know the significance of the bird cage at 2:47 then that means you don't have the album! Or you torrented it. Please go out and buy the album and support what could be the best band to ever come out of Newfoundland!

  • I just want to plug into my iPod, put this song on repeat, and walk around Vancouver, starting at the cauldron, just to relive the moments of the Olympics! This song is perfect for Canadian spirit!

  • great voice. great vocal performance.

  • im more of a hardcore rock junkie but this song is just so fucking amazing.
