  • "We can't go back to reckless spending."

*spends more in 2 years than Bush did in 8*.

    "Uhh...Bush did it."

  • Obama is such a dynamic speaker & salesman by grabbing ur sub-conscious attention with perfect tonality, cadence, simplicity, power words, ambiguity & total absence of complicating details. To prove it ask yourself if you caught the 180° twist in his speech before reading on...

  • [cont.] He began with the, "We will NOT go BACK to the days of reckless behavior..." speech to give the impression that the current administration did something to remove the power of the Fed Rsrv & Wall Street to block the chances of another crisis...

  • [cont.] After the supportive paragraph he convinces buy-in to trust in his administration to create regulation [i.e. more laws & NOT remove power or demand accountability] to block the Fed Rsrv & Wall Street from allowing another crisis.

  • If u've taken a Critical Thinking college course in college you probably caught the 180° twist in the speech. I congratulate you if you did. You're only 1 out of every 7 people.

  • @judyleasugar97 Bush, has nothing to do with me [I didn't even vote for him]. ROFL, I hope u mean Tea Party; The 'tea bagger' is your partner in an act where you have them put their scrotum in your mouth. You might want to re-think your not-so-clever twist on the party reference, Judy.

  • That's been happening since 1913

'sdjole'. Where in the world have YOU been?? (I urge you all to watch the "Debt as Money" youtube clips).

  • The Federal Reserve Act of 2009, if passed, is the first step to expose this fractional reserve banking system of ours that sdjole is talking about! I'm proud of all of you who choose not to stand idle and be tread upon. In doing that you take the first steps to restore true freedom in all us Americans and not what we tolerate now. Don't allow politicians to complicate the issue. It's all simple. Truth is really simple. It's my opinion that iff it's not simple, It's probably not true.

  • @euphotic: I suppose all you tea baggers would like to go back to the way things were when Bush left office? You're so stupid, you're helping no one but the 2 percent wealthiest. The Republican party would love for things to go back to the way they were in Victorian times when there were a handfull of obscenely wealthy individuals and everyone else was DIRT POOR. Good luck with that.

  • If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

    Thomas Jefferson

  • Now do remember that Wallstreet has already found a substitute to property bonds... life insurance bonds.. Specualtion is starting again and the rules and no go Obama speaks of needs to be more fully, otherwise history will repeat itself.

  • ACORN spokespersons have never had a problem lying on camera The Tea Party Movement is no different than the American Revolution, the Christian Revival Movements of 1735-42, The Prayer Movement of 1857, and 1900; that is seen as The Holy Spirit enveloping God's believing creation to awaken his children to the truth.

    God Bless You

  • This tea party movement does have a lot in common with Christian progression; large masses of uneducated people becoming incredibly restless and irrational towards a world they can't comprehend.

  • Ok The U.S needs to break down the Commercial Real estate usage, BEFORE this will be a factor to further worsen the status of the economy. As these businesses are losing grip on citizens who do not have the money to spend anyway, why not start by cutting down the use of these real estate properties thought to be used for business, and through that save up on rents, supply of stock, employees, etc, UNTIL your economy allows it again.

  • It only take 1 sec to critcise a leader. No brainer job.

But how many speak wisely with value add and positive solution to help America !

Before you point 1 finger at other, make sure the rest of 9 fingers is not pointing at yourself.

  • Thank god McCain lost, he would have been more clueless than Bush as to how to handle the crisis. He probably would have just given more tax breaks to the rich or something stupid like that.

  • Obama needs to chokeslam his mom, beat her up, and cut out her corporate interests. Republican Byatch.

  • How can u make such a comment about Pre. Obama? I bet u never would've though u will see a black president in the "WHITE" house. For u talking this way, u mut have been raised up with these type of morals and for that u need to chikeslam ur mom, beat her up, and cut out her corporate interests. Dem. Smith

  • shit president

  • How did he get us out of the depression? I am depredssed that he is giving taxpayer money to people that encourage others to lie to the government to get free or reduced cost housing.

Go ahead tell me that Bush did that, he did, I agree...But if there is a defecit, why would you spend money you don't have to bail out insolvent companies that are already failing...The inevetable is still to come....they will go belly up again, we gonna bail them out again?

  • No, he had to bail them out so he could put in tough regulations that republicans have been trying to rid for years that got us into this whole mess.

If you think people in this country are angry now, what do you think things would look like had nothing been done and our financial system collapsed resulting in 20+% unemployment rates? I'll take a high deficit with lower crime rates any day!

  • I agree, how many times must I say, it is NOT a party line issue, this defecit came from both sides. I agree with you Bush was a major contributor to this mess. You got to look at the whole political picture. Republicans and Democrats have problems. WE THE PEOPLE are the problem because we have lost touch with what our representatives and how they line their pockets on both sides. It is not about US. It is about them.

  • All I ask is that you look at what we could lose in the future and please let us get it right the next time.

  • He's cleaning up Bush mess!

  • so far he's all talk and no action.

  • Have you so quickly forgotten the economic atmosphere less than a year ago when the crisis began? Companies were dropping left and right, people loosing their jobs by the masses, a complete free fall.

Compare that with where we are at now, things are slowly turning around all over the world. The stock market has settled, job losses are not nearly as bad as they were, and many economists agree we are coming out of the recession.

  • I heard part of Obambis most recent major speech. Hes averaging about one a day now.

Here is my summary of what he said:

    Obambi: I, I, I, I, me, me me, I, I, me, me, me, me, I, I, me, I, Me, I, I, I, me, me, I, me, I.

  • Maybe he can get Van Jones to support him and all in favor of this socialistic health care program. I do not want to use my hard earned money in taxes to pay for illegal aliens health care. I already am in increased insurance rates. Ask him about this in person without a teleprompter.....

  • When you get cancer and are laying on your death bed with a letter from your health insurance company notifying you that your policy has been canceled, just know I will be laughing :)

  • You won't have to pay for illegal aliens.

I hope America gets a health care system similar to the NHS.

  • Deregulation of the early 2000's led to this mess because it didn't allow checks and balances on the financial section. There will be stronger financial regulation but stuff like that takes time, effort, money, and lot of other things.

  • I wonder who wrote his speech this time.

  • Im irish so i dont really care about obama. but it's obvious that he is all mouth and no action..

What has he actually achieved since getting into office ?

  • What does being Irish have anything to do with your opinion of other people? Or are you just trying to win the "most ignorant commenter" award here on youtube?

As for what he has achieved; he kept the country from entering another great depression, increased unemployment for those who lost work, and thanks to Obama I am able to afford a discounted rate on Cobra health benefits.

He's done a lot and you would know it if your head wasn't still in the sand.

  • Then say what hes done ? besides talk ?

  • I just said what he has accomplished, try reading my comment before responding buddy.

  • you named 3 things. thats a lot ? lol what about his promise to take troops out of afghanistan and iraq ? and yes he did say that he would do that before he got elected.

  • 3 things you were previously unaware of. By the way, he is drawing out troops from Iraq, as well as making good on his promise to close Guantánamo and increase our focus on Afghanistan. He never promised to pull troops out of Afghanistan.

  • well said ! :)

  • History cannot be allowed to repeat itself.

There are scores of people on the Internet who would glaze over over that statement coming from Obama.

  • Gotta get this health care bill passed then go on to the next set of issues.

  • "I have always been a strong believer in the power of the free market."

    More Lies.
