I know several Belarusians who love him. Usually the Belarusians who hate him are idiots who believe in theories like "pure race", those who think that "US is the country of freedom", those who think that West is a paradise or simply ignorant people who watch only TV and think that life in the West is perfect as in the movies, drug users, LGBT...

Take a look at videos about "Lukashenko opposition", they carry the same flag used by the fascists in 1941-45.

Alexander Gregoriyevich is the one and only honest leader in the 15 post-Soviet republics. The Byelorussian people kicked out the corrupt, western backed government of Shushkevich's gang in 1994 when they made Alexander G. Lukashenko the FIRST elected president of post-Soviet Belarus.

He is hated in the EU and US only because he thwarted their efforts to turn Belarus into a colony where Byelorussians would be only good enough to clean the shoes of the Americans and West Europeans. - Михаил

@3aCCCP I would respect him if he allowed "Free" elections like a real socialist. People in Belarus do not know what is right for them. If they did then they would not vote for this guy. Many Belarussians come to work in Poland and Lithuania.

@GaullistFan Who are you to tell the Byelorussian people what is right for them? You sound like the typical western hypocrite. They vote in every election for Lukashenko, because he did not allow the country to be taken over by western corporations or Russian oligarchs and has provided an ongoing rise in living standards as measured by a number of United Nations criteria. 3,000 foreign observers said the elections were run fairly up until Lukashenko won. Then the demonization started again.

@GaullistFan This is just not right. I live in Lithuania, and i don't know any belarusians come here to work?? To less salerys and 20 % unemployment? when in Belarus no unemployment? From Lithuania people are emigrating for work abroad like hell! Belarus have NETTO immigration, ab. 1000 pr. month!! quit big. From Lithuania and Poland it is opposite.. people are fleeing in thousands .. all want to leave.. most in Lithuania.

yep. pretty much... he's a true patriot and if people should decide to kick him out... well the people decide that. if he STILL refuses then, even then US has no right to do all these attrocities, the meddling and arming of idle idiots... he's a gift from the heaven in a time of imminent danger of 3rd world war, at least a gift for belarus, which is surrounded from all sides, even russia (cause medvedev is a weakling who can't control the olligarchs)- pls putin come back.
