Matt, I think you really need to practice with ROB or you should use another character. You don't seem like a natural ROB user. To improve you must:

1.Implement your standard and special moves more smoothly. Use your projectiles when they are not expected and you can even combo into them.

2.Don't smash so much. It is unbelievably predictable and Rob doesn't have the greatest range on his smashes.

3.Use ROB's range, priority and edge-guarding skills with his up-special to conquer all!
