@stickmanbrains Madcats are very fast for their weight class. Ravens are faster, but not by that much, and probably not enough to get out of range of large ER lasers and LRMs before exploding, especially at that range. The madcat was in machine gun range, so there was no way the raven could have made enough distance between them.
@stickmanbrains actually Stilettos are different from Ravens, Stilettos are faster and are designed for hit and run tactics while ravens are designed for ECM maneuvers... Stilettos are also introduced after the War of Port Arthur (says so in the expansion pack)
@neokazuka Ravens are more designed as scout and recon 'mechs, armed with ECM and Guardian suites that are capable of blinding an enemy 'mechs sensors so that they cannot lock onto you (or your unit), making line of sight the only option.
Stilettos , which being designed more for hit and run are nothing more than pieces of scrap metal and deserve no place in battletech for me.
I love the look of the Timber Wolf when it's shot in the back and turns toward the Raven. It always makes me think it is saying "Okay, now you're fucked!"

Man, was I pleased the first time I salvaged a Smoke Jaguar 'Mech (an Uller, AKA Kit Fox). But I have to say, the sequel's easier to play.
