I wasn't very apt at math back in school and now have to go back and learn everything. Just want to say that you explained this very clearly for me, and was very easy to understand. Thank you :)
if you dint understand the first part he said i'll explain it he said what is 36x23 first you add 3x6=18 put the 8 down carry the one to the 3 3x3 is 9 + 1 is 10 so put the 0 down then the number cant go anywhere so the 0 invited him to the party so the answer is 108 these are simple things im homeschooled its much better being homeschooled try it i learned how to multiply big numbers and divion say hmm 1734 divided by 344 equals 5.040697674418605 by regrouping it helps learn it
if 19 x 3 is 57 there is no zero to skip when you said jus skip the zeros there is no zero in the number 57 19x3 is 57 but you just had ya answer so you dont need a zero to answer that but if the problem is a higher number such as hmmm something that equals 57 and the problem is a high number you add zeros like you said 5,700 if its a lower number it would be 57 such as 19 x 3 so you need to rethink and plz do reply to this comment if i sad something wrong
@ItsAzureBlue Yes, because anything multiplied by 0=0, it may look odd but I think that what you're trying to say may be right. so... 190x 30 everything multiplied by 0 is 0 so for all 3 digits write 3 zeros.
@ItsAzureBlue actually thats really easy... just skip the 0's... so you have 19 x 3... that is like.... hhm 57... now just ad the two 0's you skipped... and you hace 5,700... :D thats the way I learned
What I really loved about this one was, he explained WHY. I've always had a nagging feeling in my backhead when my teacher simply said "we'll just put a zero down here." (Me: Ok.. why? Teacher: "We'll just do it. Me: -_-'').. lol ;)
I use vedic math. Can multiply and number by any number in just seconds in my head. Look it up. If you're teaching your kid math teach him both ways and he'll be a math god
Believe it or not I'm in my senior year of Electrical Engineering in University of Texas. N i came back here n watched this video....I don't know wt 2 conclude here.
I remember throughout school very little reminders about the logic behind things, which for someone who doesn't grasp it easily, is absolutely crucial. To list the distributive property might be part and parcel, even if secondary, to explaining that the 2 is actually a 20, instead of just saying: " we add a zero ," or even "we do so because it's in the tens place." I believe maths teaching goes too much in stages, myopically, whereas things like this would have helped me to conceptualize!
i didnt understand my homework or work at school so my teacher gave me this website and it really helped me alot so thanks mr.

this works great, except....How would you multiply a number like 190x30? would you 0x0 0x9 0x1, then put 3 zeros down? I'm confused :/
