Very interesting option for us homeowners. But what backer material do we put on the metal frame after we nail them down for tiling application? My application will be outdoors but under cover.
I bought the video from BBQ coach, worth 30 bucks or so. I had the same question on wall material. I called the Hardie Backer techs, they told me it would work but it is not rated for that application. Look at some prefab units, open the doors and you will see Hardi Backer 1/4 inch vertical, 1/2" horizontal. Check out the one I built at hazmatter7 on you tube, it was a video for my Mohter. Go for it you will save a ton of cash!
