You can't just group together teenagers like that. Yeah some of them arent good lifegaurds, I know cuz I work with them, But some of us are trained and its up to the facility to decide who to hire and who to not.

My son use to go to camps like this, he ended up with a concussion after another kid tripped him and the counselors (teenagers) were busy flirting with one another. Hire trained "adults" not teenage kids with raging hormones to watch our children!

Camps are not for 4 year old's neither is water above chest level without a life jacket , the camp should be shut down and this is what most parents get in today's world ...Abandoned to sitters camps and all sorts of garbage . Kids need their parents not the worlds extra curricular upbringing . Schools alone are hardly a place for kids . Elementary schools shouldn't even exist . I work and train lifeguards at an Ellis and Associates facility and we hire guards as young as 15. my 15 and 16 year old guards are some of our best lifeguards. its not the age of the person, but the type of person they are. if they don't take responsibility upon themselves and aren't highly self motivated, we won't hire them

How did the lifeguard get this job. Training and testing should have caught this before it happened. I can understand 60 seconds going unnoticed IF there are a bunch of people in the pool, but this lifeguard was watching no more than 9 people. For 8 minutes to pass is unacceptable.

Camps are not for 4 year old's neither is water above chest level without a life jacket , the camp should be shut down and this is what most parents get in today's world ...Abandoned to sitters camps and all sorts of garbage . Kids need their parents not the worlds extra curricular upbringing . Schools alone are hardly a place for kids . Elementary schools shouldn't even exist . Go ahead blame the world for your child's short comings .

the video shows him in the middle of the pool then it shows him by the lane lines. why did he try to catch up to the counselour. he could have gone to the lane lines and hold on. and if not the lane lines he was closer to the wall. and able to grab on.

my friend pretended to drown in training once and the lifeguard didn't even notice. they think cause u can swim well you have no chance of drowning. i'm so scared of hitting my head on turns or something stupid cause no one would help mann :( its sickkk!

@DEATHLORD983 it doesn't matter that their young, it matters that they haven't had the right training and that they are not doing what they are supposed to be doing. I work and train lifeguards at an Ellis and Associates facility and we hire guards as young as 15. my 15 and 16 year old guards are some of our best lifeguards. its not the age of the person, but the type of person they are. if they don't take responsibility upon themselves and aren't highly self motivated, we won't hire them

omg i almost drowned once and i know how it feels to almost drown it feels horrible when you cant breathe including that the oceon streams made me go toawrds a big spikey rock ;( im still traumatized by that and now when i watched the video i LITERALLY COULDNT BREATHE FOR 1 MIN I FELT THE WATER IN MY MOUTH ALL OVER AGAIN!

This is complete bullshit...I don't care if the guards were trained or not how the fuck do you let some little kid just drown like that? Yes, they should have been trained in CPR as well as normal life saving tips for swimming but come on...use some common fucking sense man. Your job is to keep the kids safe number one priority!
I work in carnival amusements on the weekend and I always make sure those kids are safe first and foremost. You'd be surprised how many people just don't give a shit.
