No, most cops are not trained for such a thing and that police station looks like it already had been set up to be defensible with the high counter going all the way around.

The official version says one thing but the story may be other. The courage of the officers?? No, the courage of this guy who had the balls to confront many of them in their own ground, jumped over the counter to comfront them, now that is courage, the cops only hide. But the guy kept on shooting standing in front of them until the end. It will be interesting to find out what they did to this guy and order for him to reach this incredible act of punishment.

Bravo for ths man's courage; confronting legal criminals (Police) in their own ground. I am against violance, but the stablishment harm us in so many ways indiscriminately with or without a cause. Sooner or later this was going to happen and it will happen more until the they learn to respect the citizents. Most of the police and specially the DEA commit crimes in the regular basis and because the blue code most of them go unpunished. They make more problems then solutions.

Police stations need to be fortified. Police stations are not homeless shelters and warming tents. Public fucking events everywhere!! Public Access only if you need police assistance. metal detectors at every entrance. Bullet proof glass when you need to talk to citizens. Officer Davis and the other officer who was seen firing are the true heros of this shoot out. Notice how Officer Davis never gave up. He shot the gunman at point blank range while literally looking down the barrel of a shotgun and he threw some office stuff at the gunman after the guman shot the gun out of his hand and he lost some fingers. The officer who was lying behind the desk is lucky that the guman ran out of ammo. Was he shot in the opening salvo, was in a position to return fire?

Thank God all of the Officers are going to live to tell their story and assist the rest of us that chose a career of being scrutinized by the public for everything we do on a daily basis. This is directly a result of what happens when people decide to ignore their responsibility as citizens. When they believe they are above the law.
