Giant Sized X-Men was awesome! Joss did just as good on this as he did with his TV shows. Too bad he is not writing issues for Astonishing anymore. :/ The new issues, not by Joss, seem off. And really confusing.
Regarding the "personal space" comment... what do you mean "we're both aliens"!? Beast is not an alien and she was only half-alien. Seriously I don't think you read GSAXM#1 OR Final Crisis.
Final Crisis #1 is the latest Emperor's new clothes. The supposed "death" of Martian Manhunter was so poorly handled I'm still shaking my head. And all the juvenile "dingbat expletives" Morrison uses are just embarrassing. Just left a terrible taste in my mouth. I won't be reading any further. You ain't missing anything, Pete.
at first I thought Justin was off, but Pete worried me about ripping Giant Size Astonishing Xmen # 1. It was good. If you don't like Giant size astonishing xmen # 1 then you just don't understand what the xmen are about.
ur mom, fag. Final Crisis was all kinds of awesome! it established great plot points and characterization. more than what Secret Invasion has done in three issues.
Final Crisis 1 was crap. It's VERY disconnected from DC continuity. Issue 2 was good. I thought the series might pick up, but I just read issue 3 and now I have absolutely NO clue what is going on.
final crisis has not missed a beat. I get that some people might not understand ever single facet of the whole event, nut come on. It's effing GRANT MORRISON! this is his style of writing. I'm glad Morrison is taking chances by actually letting readers interpret the story. if you want to be spoonfed all the facts to stories in Marvel Comics, I mean the kid's section :P
The thing is, everyone who began reading final crisis expected a story that is linked to the Earth 1 continuity and was apparently going to be a universal reset for DC.
From what I've read, it's disconnected from Earth-1, and so it leaves people who were following the build up feeling confused.
I wouldn't mind if it were advertised as a stand alone story like Kingdom Come, but the fact is that it wasn't.
Also, your comments about marvel are extremely childish. Both companies have merits.
I personally think that DC has more mature stories, with literary and thematic merit. They also have a universe that flows together seemlessly. Marvel has some timeless characters, but not as much merit as far as story is concerned.
Infinite Crisis was good although it did have alot of plotholes (where the hell did Alex find the Anti-Monitors corpse? It couldn't possibly have survived the explosion at the end of CoIE) and I was very worried that FC would be disappointing considering how bad Countdown was. Thankfully, FC is very good :)
Are there two covers of FC? Cause the one i got isn't green lantern but cave paintings of superman, batman and wonder woman's logo and a crude hammer.
I agree that Countdown isn't good, its like there is something missing in the storytelling found on 52. I'd praise them for weekly but storywise uhhh... I also fear Trinity might go down the road of Countdown. Maybe the real time story telling did wonders for 52. I'm sure Morrison would do justice with matching Jones art.
dont agrue the crisis need to end period. dc needs to stop retcon retcon retcon. im getting a headache think of it. how is their a newpaper with the antimonitor in the last crisis? how is that antimonitor's body is floating in space? how do the green lantern corp have superboy-prime dna and fingerprints? how is lady quark alive when she was dead for 11 yrs? does anything make any sense in dc?
I'm tired of Alex beign a big jerk and thinking his opinion is the only one that matters, they never let Pete disagree with them or belittle what he has to say. If they don't care what he says, why do they even have him on the show???
I totally support Pete's not buying or reading Final Crisis. Justin's statement, "It's a huge event, you have to buy it." is exactly why we have this never ending mega-events that bleed one into the other and are all crappy. And the fact that Pete reviews comics for his job does not mean he's obligated to read Final Crisis, it means he's someone in a position of power to make his protest more meaningful.
Pete stick by your guns, if the issue sucks say so, also if the comic book companies are making lame major story arcs just to sell comics say so, I think Pete is more critical of the three in his analysis of comic books. I'm not buying the issues, sorry DC.
Let's see, Countdown ran 52 issues and sucked . At three bucks a pop that's about $160 for crap. Don't do it Pete. You've already lost enough. No better protest than keeping your hard earned cash. At least go out on a limb and get something that might not suck.
Pete I needed you to rant about how lame the death of J'ohn Jones was. It was one pannel. He's one of the most powerful heroes in the DCU and he was against tons of villians. but he gets killed in one pannel were is the action!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So, what do you guys thinik about that sense pete didn't read it... I need one of you to rant for me. WHY pete WHY!? We need you anger more than ever. Just still the mill back from alex after he takes it. We need you!!!
im just glad that they are going to finish the so called "crisis" storyline. unnecessary pile of biggest horse manure in the DCAU.I'd rather they would get together and pitch a screenplay for a decent Superman flick to WB.
Pete, I think you are right on target with your protest of final crisis. The run up was just ruined by the combination of Countdown and Death of the new gods. The last crisis happening not to long ago and being disappointed in how it ended I think DC would have been better served calling this event something else.
damnit ! Is ashtonishing really that good! I was just the in the comic store and i held it in my hand and was like nah. damn guys gimmie some insite if i should pick it up or not
Damn you pete! Morrison is doing a good job. Yes it has some of countdown's problems but he is trying to make them interesting. Fixing up the mess the young bucks made as it were.
i agree with pete on fnal crisis #1 it blows hard but astonishing x-men was so dam great. i cant belive ign had darkseid moved up on the industry ranking they do and put wolverine down thats weird because count down sucked but even wolverine origins was doing good so howd that happen.
