Final Crisis #1 is the latest Emperor's new clothes. The supposed "death" of Martian Manhunter was so poorly handled I'm still shaking my head. The thing is, everyone who began reading final crisis expected a story that is linked to the Earth 1 continuity and was apparently going to be a universal reset for DC.

From what I've read, it's disconnected from Earth-1, and so it leaves people who were following the build up feeling confused.

I wouldn't mind if it were advertised as a stand alone story like Kingdom Come, but the fact is that it wasn't.

Also, your comments about marvel are extremely childish. Both companies have merits.

I personally think that DC has more mature stories, with literary and thematic merit. They also have a universe that flows together seemlessly. Marvel has some timeless characters, but not as much merit as far as story is concerned.

Infinite Crisis was good although it did have alot of plotholes (where the hell did Alex find the Anti-Monitors corpse? It couldn't possibly have survived the explosion at the end of CoIE) and I was very worried that FC would be disappointing considering how bad Countdown was. Thankfully, FC is very good :)

I agree that Countdown isn't good, its like there is something missing in the storytelling found on 52. I'd praise them for weekly but storywise uhhh... I also fear Trinity might go down the road of Countdown. Maybe the real time story telling did wonders for 52. I'm sure Morrison would do justice with matching Jones art.

I totally support Pete's not buying or reading Final Crisis. Justin's statement, "It's a huge event, you have to buy it." is exactly why we have this never ending mega-events that bleed one into the other and are all crappy.
