I use clicker training (see Karen Pryor's web site) and in Rally I use treats. There are lots of specifics in terms of types, timing, and the (later in training) use of the next cue as a reinforcer (she enjoys the activity so much). Would be happy to share if you are interested in more (Pryor's site is a wealth of knowledge, by the way... and the source Supreme, in my humble opinion!)
