  • Your video went viral on Dublin

  • Just look at what you are writing here and what is happening to us. YOU people deserve everything coming to you-------

  • why does she say sodom when she means saddam?

  • I'm from Canada and I love Hillary Clinton.I think she's intelligent, charismatic, courageous.I love listening to her speech and her voice so much!

  • but you said that our sanctions allowed the kosovars to save themselves!

  • To get a Democrat to do anything, you just have to say "What's the matter? Chicken?"

  • good lord, a simple "yes" or "no" would have sufficed

  • she did nothing pro war or anti war. She stepped aside. Is that what senators are elected to do?

  • Senator Clinton stated that a vote for War was a vote to place confidence and trust in the hands of the president. But at the same time. Such a vote should have had restrictions. The restrictions were called the Levin Amendment. As two-faced as Hillary has proven to be. She voted against that Amendment. There's what you say on TV, and then there's what ya do.

  • I have never said anything about isolationism. I have pointed out the Iraq Regime Change policy started with Bill Clinton that is all I pointed out. That is just the history it is not a policy discussion.

I also have never condoned Farrakhan. You really miss the point. I was doing the opposite giving examples of things he says.

What I said here is correct. Congress had the authority and chose to side step it. Your tactic of trying to make me the issue is recognized and rejected.

  • I know you and our criminal congress don't understand that CONGRESS is granted power to declare war by our Constitution.

The reason they "authorize" action is to hide from their constitutional responsibilities like the criminals and cowards they are.

Do you really think she didn't know Bush would go to war? Did you believe he wouldn't?

It was CLEAR what he wanted. If she didn't understand this then it is another reason she should NOT be President.

  • Her speech does warn against unilateral action. However, does any president listen to what members of the US Senate have to say? Did Bush listen to Hillary? Did he listen to Obama? No. Speeches are, in the end irrelevant. The vote is what matters. If the Senate, including Senator Clinton, had voted NOT to give the president the power to wage war, it wouldn't have happened.

  • So it's her fault that Bush proved to NOT be trustworthy--despite her warnings? Considering Obama's anti-war rally speech is the backbone of his candidacy, which Mr. Obama continues to misrepresent as him being the only candidate who opposed the war from the start—this clearly shows Hillary did not support it either & did her best to actually warn the President against it w/extremely well defined consideration of the many issues & likely outcomes (far more comprehensively than his speech imo).

  • Thank you so much, janetrogers6, for putting these critical speech files out here. I don't think anybody could have possibly spoken out more clearly or knowledgeably against the war than she does here...even warning of dire consequences & outlining various options, none of which involved going to war...and closing w/warning the President to "use these powers wisely and as a last resort." He obviously didn't do that. But I saw bravo to Hillary for this obviously educated and thoughtful speech!

  • yeah nice speech but she still trusted the bastard and look what happened. OBAMA 08!

  • Hillary is responsible too. There was information, granted it was buried, but information refuting the connection between Saddam and al qaeda, and that he had WMD. If you know the story of the Clintons you know that they are extremely poll tested and strategic so it makes sense that she voted to authorize war with Iraq, she even said that regime change was the policy towards the end of the Clinton years. I understand exactly what she did, we all do if you really think about it.

  • She voted for unrestricted inspection of WMD. She trusted Bush to do what's right before going to war and Bush administration lied. Obama twisted her words. Why can't the obamabots see that?

  • Teiris and all the other Clinton supporters living in a healthy state of denial: "She trusted Bush". Why? If I really thought she cast this vote with trust in mind... then she's an idiot. Luckily I don't think that. I just think that she is an opportunist that cast her vote to keep her in the political game. Millions of refugees and tens of thousands of civilians paid the price for that.

  • Why did 75% of Americans trust him? We wanted to believe him, we were duped. Don't act all high and mighty now thankfully you weren't put in this same position.

  • great video.

  • Hillary Clinton had enough info, based on her 8 years as first lady, and info given to her by the Bush Admin to truely think voting yes was a good idea. Her husband bombed Iraq when Sadam halted UN inspections. She voted yes, trusting that Bush would be like her husband, and wait until the UN had concluded their inspections. Bush chose not to wait, and as a result, we found out after the war started that Sadam had no WMDs. If ANY of the Senators knew this, they would have voted no. Even Hillary.

  • I don't think that the libertarians and liberals need to alienate each other. We have very different economic beliefs, but to resolve that conflict we must discuss theory instead of polarizing terms. Then we can come together on social views.

  • Ron Paul was not the only one that was right. So were all of us Liberals!!!!!

Paul is the best thing the Republicans has going, but the bar is very very low.

Plus, it really sounds to me like Clinton wouldn't agree that we should go into Iraq unless there are truly WMDs and with a true coalition.

So, she was right about the war.

  • Get a clue, she is a big girl! She had as much access to info as anyone else... She was in the white house for 8 years with her husband for god's sake! She is a two faced liar! Obama is the only Dem who was against the war!

  • I hope you don't think she didn't carefully look at all of the info. Her own husband bombed Iraq because Sadam halted UN inspections! It sounds to me like she voted to give Bush the power to use force, if an only if, Sadam prevented any UN inspections or he refused to disarm after inspections concluded he had WMDs. Bush chose not to wait, and as a consequence, we found out after the War had started that Sadam had no WMDs. If ANY senate member knew this, I doubt they would have voted yes.

  • That's wrong. She had the chance to vote for an amendment that would have required Bush to return to Congress after inspections "failed" and an invasion was sought. She voted against it. She voted for war. She voted for her career.

  • She tries to get off the hook by placing blame upon the president, but it is her that is making the vote with full knowledge of the President's intent. She must be held accountable with the rest of them.

  • Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld etc. are responsible.

  • They're responsible for Bill Clinton's YEARS of Iraq WMD talk, and Hillary's YES vote to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq? Not.

  • Those who choose to watch only the edited version of this 20min. speech and interpret people's position on the basis of the vote as either wholly in support of the war, or completly against the war from the start, give credibility to Bush's black and white interpretation of this vote still giving him authorisation to invade Iraq without fufilling any of the public promises made to allow UN inspectors to confim WMD existed 1st, and pursue diplomacy 1st with war as last resort only.

  • How is it that Ron Paul knew to vote against the Iraq war, the Patriot Act and also to tone down the aggressions against Iran, but Hillary did not?

Ron Paul was right about Iraq.

Ron Paul was right about the Patriot Act.

Ron Paul was right about Iran.

    Ron Paul 3

    Hillary 0

    Ron Paul for the win.

  • I agree this "situation" was anything but black-and-white. And I'll add to that her entire speech (inc. the 1st pt in a separate file) shows she realized the situation was anything but black-and-white & tried her best to outline the many gray areas that the President needed to consider, as well as the likely outcomes of those varying situations and possible actions. She showed a very comprehensive grasp of the many varying issues & sound judgment in my opinion-unfortunately, Bush didn't listen.
