i have a similar desigh except i still use wood for the part that actually holds the targets, wood seems to hold up better to bullet strikes and is cheaper to replace.
@easternbushytail I never had any issues with flyers but other people blasted these apart, I would recommend using wood for the uprites that fits in the pvc pipe. Wood can take more hits than paper.

No kidding, your girlfriend did a pull-up on one of those target stands? I'd like to see a video of that. It does look pretty sturdy

Great Idea, I always made mine out of wood. I am going to Home Depot and getting my PVC.
