This was pretty awesome. Who wouldn't want to stroll after seeing how much power and passion greeks orgs put into their strolls and steps? I'm a Tri Sigma and would love to stroll with my sisters as a way to represent our sorority. It isn't just for blacks or latinos. Yeah, "white" fraternities and sororities use to exclude people before but that's no longer the case. My chapter is huge and really culturally diverse. i would know, I'm hispanic and love all my sisters

i thought the whole point of being in BGLO was 2 uplift the community through an array of different tactics, not just steppin and strollin. By the way, I am in a BGLO (Black Greek Letter Organization). We own strolling as part of our perspective organizations, so forgive me if I'm not so passive and willing to share it with non-BGLO's.
Our orgs were founded out of a need, because African Americans were excluded from these white fraternal organizations. We developed our own customs, rituals, traditions based on our African Heritage. I don't appreciate it being mocked and disgraced by NON-BGLO's. It's not something to do just because it's "cool" or "fun". Again, it's a meaning and purpose. That of course, non-BGLO orgs would know nothing about or could even relate to because it's not apart of their process or history.
I'm pretty sure their stroll was choreographed or had some help from a black greek organization. Obviously they were approved to even do a stroll. And if they don't know the history, so what? That's why it's history. Look towards the future, not the past. It's all about greek unity. Not about race or skin color.
I'm sure it was choreographed by a D9 org, which makes it worse. Africans in the diaspora are constantly being stripped of their history and culture, it's time after 400 years to not allow it. And I'm all for greek unity, but develop your own cultural traditons, rituals, stop raping us of ours.
If it really was that big of a problem or an insult, they most likely would not allow them to participate in an activity like that. I understand where you're coming from, because being of latin descent, I see many other cultures ripping off from us and our past, in general. @dameelsexo the school where I'm from greek orgs from Pan-Hell or Intrafraternity (all majority "non-black" greek orgs) were coached by NPHC orgs. It's always entertaining to watch. It does allow for total greek unity and bonding. However, I feel that "non-black" greek orgs tend to look at it as a cute little routine instead of what it really means, why it was/is done, and why NPHC embraces step so affectionally. We coach them only for them to be laughed at by the students watching. It happens.
And it's sad..Sometimes I wonder do those Pan-Hell/Intrafraternity Council greeks know that generally when they are up there strolling to something that was taught to them by a NPHC org that 9 times out of 10, the general student body watching, is laughing at them and waiting for them be (Stereotypically) rhythmically challenged. Notice I said Stereotypically, cuz the Sistergreeks from the 2010 Sprite Step Off were fire!!! And all white!
Actually I am very much Black and tired of people always falling on the race card. If they want to stroll so what. At least some people can look past race and realize they are are all human black or white. Some Black greeks need to grow up!!!!
