Mario All Stars was awesome back in the day because we did not have NES emulators - once a game stopped being made you never played it again. All Stars was one of the reasons I bought a SNES after my Mega Drive broke down (overheated from endless MK2).

Lost Levels was originally going to be the real Super Mario Brothers 2. It was meant to be for players who had mastered Super Mario Brothers 1, but was cancelled at the last minute, as Nintendo thought it was too hard, and would frustrate American players.
